The store to me is a kind of living collection. Yes I may sell a rare piece or not have a few others but with people bringing in new treasures on a regular basis it grows and grows.
A recurring trend I had noticed in some massive collections, was that the owner also had a role in a video game store. Even with better opportunity over average consumers, it would still not be an easy feat, or something that would come together over night I'm sure.
Thanks for the tour! Your place is looking great! Do you keep anything for yourself? I'd consider opening up my own retro game store when I get older but I'd be tempted to keep some of the games for myself. Do you have any tips on how I could run a retro store and want to keep everything that comes in?
I try not to keep anything for myself but I wont say that I never take any goodies home. When I started I switched from an all around video game collector to just collecting SNES stuff. I also became picker at what I will accept into my collection. As far as tips go I would suggest to just get started. You cant have an awesome store if you just dream about it :)
