The Kaosspad comes with an inbuilt MP3 player ... just load your tracks onto a microSD card and play them through the pad ... which lets you manipulate and twist the tracks into wonderful weird and funky stuff.
Well, I was skeptical until I saw that you can essential use it as a sampler. That'd be pretty sweet in a one-man-band setup, looping guitar and vocals over prerecorded drums. If the price comes down under 200 US, I'll be sold.
thanks for your reply, but i ended up buying the KP3+ (the microkorg has the downside of needing hands, the KP3 can be used - though with a lot of care and talent - with my feet on it). but one thing i dont understand is the limitation to 16 bars. how does the inbuilt mp3 player work on the mini-kaosspad? can i run a whole song (eg. led zeppelin kashmir) and just add effects to it? i cant understand why the KP3+ has no inbuilt mp3 player, it seems i can only load tracks up to 16 bars, not more:/
Were those synthy noises at one point created by the guitar going through the Kaoss pad or was that the VOX tonelab footpedal? Currently designing a guitar that integrates the innards of one of these into the pickguard.
yes you can loop anything into the mic in ANYTHING but only eight bars I have the fist one I like the drums on it so I loop them into the second one they sound good ...and my bass guitar so I can make bass loops
@IslandDalek the best way to learn music is to learn a traditional instrument. those who re really succesfull at electronic music, most of the time had some knowledge of piano, bass guitar or drums. i own the kaossilator pro. and its alot of fun, you can do music very easily with it...even my 3 year old niece can. but the the best results come from plugging my guitar to it.
they're demonstrating that you can plug in an external instrument (or microphone) and add it to the loop. there's also a built-in microphone making it super convenient. this is the huge improvement over the original kaossilator.
You want to manipulate a guitar sound, go for the MicroKORG synth ... guitar plugs right into the back of it and you can do evil and magical things to the sound.
terrible noise machine. I need Milonga, Gardel, Buena Vista social Club, Guillermo Buitrago sounds. and more and I need a mini USB to download those sounds into the K 2.
Yo lo tengo!!!! Me encanta el vídeo que has hecho!I have it!!!! I love the video you made
So sick, with the added sampling power i'm sold, looks cooler than before as well, pre-order done, now for the miserable wait.

They're actually quite easy on the wallet!!! For the amount of features they give you!
I got one and I LOVE it! Unfortunately, the stuff I make doesn't sound as cool as this... YET.
