Great video dude. I am big my self and rode a Pint for a couple hundred miles. The PintX is a beast compared to the OG Pint. These are some great tips. PintX is a totally viable OW option.
Appreciate that man! Recently took it on group ride and held up pretty well. Definitely not a front of the pack board but can sit comfortably in the middle and not lag behind everyone. Love the board
Thanks for making this video. Not covered nearly enough. Good to see you contributing to the community with stuff that isn't already covered. I have the kush nug hi too. Still testing it. Not sure how I feel about it just yet. Interesting conclusion with Skyline. I haven't tried that much on hills. Was too scared after nosediving on Pacific. I went straight to Elevated for hills but i have to stop and change the mode back and forth which is annoying. Maybe I'll try Skyline like you're suggesting. I wish I was goofy footed like you. So much safer to ride in USA traffic. You get to face the cars coming at you instead of the curb.
@@Funcentric Thanks bro!. Yea the foot pad takes some getting used to coming from flat but once I used to it I didn’t want flat. Definitely helps with staying on board through rougher terrain also. Skyline feels stiff at first but once you ride for a while it’s feel natural and I don’t feel like I’m going to over power the board as much .. still take hills cautiously though on lower battery levels.
Skyline, all the beans all the time😁. You should try Foamies grip tape. You'll need to buy a GT version and trim it down but it will help mitigate the higher tire pressure. You didn't mention tire, I actually like the stock Pint tire but the aftermarket TFL tires are better. They put an element of suspension into the wheel that the original tire doesn't have.
Great video! I'm 230lbs and ride my slick PintX @26 psi. It's got Kush low and fangs for my son. I have a GT but prefer the PintX for store runs and carving. Can't wait till the Platypus front/rear pads come out for Pint/PintX. Love the power Skyline gives us heavy riders but still use Pacific X for a more fun and carvy ride.
Thanks dude! Yea when I get my GT the pint x will definitely still be my go to, GT more so for group rides as I prefer the feel of the PX. I love pacific x, skyline makes me feel like I’m not gonna topple over up hills mainly use for older bumpy hilly greenways …I want to try those platypus footpads also.
I feel like i found this video at the perfect time. Just got my pint x a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if i made the wrong decision by note going with the GT. Being over 200lbs myself the stock foot pads and grip tape always made me nervous. Will be making ur recommended upgrades ASAP. Thanks for the content 💪🏿
I've had my Pint X for a little over a year and a half now and considering footpad options. I am probably on the "upper end" of what's recommended by a lot for a PintX, around 210-215lbs, so probably close to 220 with my gear and pack when I ride. I don't think it's much of an issue for paved trails, but if I want to do more off-road trails, the extra side and power of the GT would probably help quite a bit. The Halo Pads from Tech Rail are appealing since they're much larger pads in width and length, but they say you have to buy a pressure sensor as well, but I don't see them on their site, nor know what all is involve with that as far as installing. That said, if I didn't go that route, it's worth at least getting a Kush Nug? And what would determine if I'd want to go with the hi or low? I have a feeling I will get a GT eventually, but would like to make the Pint-X a little more comfy until that time comes. The Pint X size and maneuverability can be really nice sometimes.
For the pint X I’d definitely recommend at least getting the nug. I would say the high version I think it’s a more all around footpad . Getting a rear foot pad was a must since it helps keep foot in place. Hitting chunky stuff jostled rear foot around to the point my foot was barely on foot pad after on the stock. Definitely for us bigger guys the GT is the way to go for off road. And go treaded option I’d say. Although a little harder tire it’s just a better quality tire than the slick and grips way better so you don’t spin out and nose dive on dirt. Spent 1700 miles on a slick and only after a couple hundred miles on treaded it makes a big difference in just staying on the board and reducing the wheel slip on off road..All that to consider if you don’t go the enduro route right away. I enjoy my pint X. The Gt will take time to like after being on pint X so long because it feels so heavy compared and not as nimble but will grow to appreciate the power and unlock paths the pint X would struggle with for guys our size.
@@raddyradd Gotcha, may have to consider a footpad and my grip tape is probably due for replacement too. I did put a Burris Treaded tire on my Pint X last year and it definitely transformed the board for anything off road. It's not *quite* as nice on pavement, but the sacrifice is definitely worth it. Before, offroad and grass wasn't even really possible. If/when I get a GT I would probably want to go to an Enduro pretty early on, but at the same time, I don't know that I want to risk the tire change myself on the GT like I did the Pint X, given how much more expensive the GT is unless I found a decently priced used one.
@@PapaP86 The tire change on the GT is pretty simple. Had a buddy help change mine with neither of us having experience. Just watch the videos from like the float life or somewhere and follow and you should be good.. took us around an hour to get everything back in order. Right tools and a little muscle and you’re golden .
Pushback kicks in around 16.5. I have to carve through it in order to not feel the pushback so harsh that will slow me down.. and the pint X is very carvy. Easiest to maneuver compared to bigger boards in my opinion
Keep in mind that if your tire is above 20, you void the warranty on your board. Also, 30 is maximum you should go on a go kart tire, even below that youre risking a blowout if you catch a curb funny or a sharp trail. Slicks arent thick
@@duderitoz6953 Haven’t heard that voided warranty , But I’d imagine it being pretty easy to get around that if that’s the case. Appreciate the feedback
Found your video while researching OneWheels and specifically how they work for big/tall folks. Glad I found this. I'm 6'5" and about 230 lbs. I wear size 14 or 15 shoes depending on the brand. Think the PintX with the alternative pad you mentioned works for my size feet? Thanks for your review.
For reference I’m a size 11 shoe size.If you’re not going with a XR or GT, the footpad would be a help and a must get for the pint X. Usually combo that with just angling my feet slightly across the footpad to get more surface. Makes the footpad size a non issue. Thanks for watching!

Great video. I got a question when you first started was it hard to long for long periods at a time? My legs seem to always start to fatigue and wobble at 2-3 miles ride. Also my front knee gets a weird pain. If you experienced any of that how did you over come itZ been riding everyday doesn’t seem to getting better
Thank you! Yea It really does take time to get used to the board… after market footpads help with feet… and definitely start carving more.. keeps pressure off just one area in your feet and knee .. riders I ride with who don’t carve are usually the ones that need the rest early. Carving should help with knee pain, because you don’t tent to lend forward as much to relieve pressure on the knee. If you are getting pain constantly, definitely take a day or two to recover in between rides. Over time you’ll be able to ride all day .. stay floating 🤙🏾
Dang I don’t know how u can balance on the smaller board it was hard for me. I ended up getting the XR and threw the enduro tire on. 285lb rider no problems #big dog riders
Never had an issue with the balance part of it . Maybe because I’m used to having small wheels under my feet from roller skates lol. Definitely took some time to stay balanced in a stopped position… disabling simple stop really helped also.
@@raddyradd yeah I was learning on a pint and kept rolling back and simple stop dropped me. Did you change the tire on that board to a wider one or is it stock?
