There are lift points under the engine and in the rear to lift from the center of the car with a floor jack. The lift points are hard rubber. Makes lifting the front and back a LOT easier than lifting from the side.
The Toyota specific Launch X431 Elite scan tool is the perfect scan tool for any DIY Toyota owner, it only costs around $170. It will allow you to access all of your Toyota's customization features. It also allows you to see your transmission fluid's estimated thermal degradation value. It also allows us to read precise transmission temps. I personally like to be able to read my Camry's thermal degradation value. I have nearly 9k miles on my car and the thermal degradation value was just reaching 500 the last time I checked. Toyota says the scale ranges from 0-65,535, so to see mine at 500 was great!
Ya know that annoying seat belt chiming, you can turn it off using the Launch X431. Little tip i learned, when braking a bolt, never wrap you fingers around the tool when pushing to break the bolt. This little tip will save you countless busted knuckles if you do your own maintenance.
It's not necessary under 100k miles, since trans fluid isn't subjected to hydrocarbons like motor oil, so the trans filter literally only catches metal shavings from the trans itself and it's clutches. It's still good practice to change them, even earlier than 100k (nothing wrong with preventative maintenance) but a good fluid flush will suffice. The filter change requires you to drop the transmission pan, replace the filter, then replace the pan gasket, then add new fluid
Is it still shifting fine with the Maxlife? I bought Maxlife, because i trust Valvoline, but everyone on forums seems to act like my transmission will explode if i don't use OEM Toyota WS. I'm thinking I'll be just fine.
@@adamjackson7634 shifts way smoother than before. Could be just because the fluid was so old to begin with, but it is definitely smoother shifting. The car use to have a weird cold start "hesitation" shifting from 1st to 2nd and that is completely gone now. Again, fresh fluid alone was probably the fix, but Max Life is WS rated and I've used it in 700whp cars that I absolutely trashed on, so I trust it in the ole Camry
Been needing to do this for mine lol, thanks.

Man, that is worth it alone for the seat belt chime!
@OctaneSlain do you have the all windows down feature unlocked for your car? Airing out the summer heat before you get into the car is great!
@@OctaneSlain the all windows down feature is extremely helpful during summer
Turned off the seat belt chimes AND dash indicator on my Mercedes using my LAUNCH tool.
What about the transmission filter ?
Cuz i wanna flush my fluid but im concerned about the filter as well

What is the interval time (miles) to do a trnas drain/fill on the trd?
They claim 50k to 60k. I would do it earlier than that. 30k or 40k max.
