Dang cuts like butter. I'm going to try a pole saw on my palms. They grow like weeds and the landscape people want to increasingly charge highway robbery fees.
@@mariosaenzlandscapingservi6786 thanks we have two windmill palms in Oregon, one is about 30 ft tall and one is about 25 ft tall. Looks like there is one on there website that extends to 27 feet and sells for Like 95 bucks.
How to kill them! I sort of get it, this seems to be just after hurricane Irma...The only thing you should think about cutting off a foxtail is the seed pods before they flower...
Most of these like saws use a hardened steel blade and the angle of the teeth make it almost impossible to sharpen. The blades are pretty much disposable. I've got the big Stihl like saw which is cool because it's extendable. However I favor my fiberglass orange fred Marvin, blades are cheap so I buy several at a time. BTW, don't ever trim a foxtail that severely. Foxtails really only need to be cut if they are dead or rubbing up against the roof or screen or maybe a window.
You have destroyed two beautiful specimens, foxtails are supposed to be self cleaning plants, their natural source of food has been cut off, this is really sad especially for a palm lover like me

Not true been doing this almost 3 decades. The tree is healthy still
I agree...not only does it hurt the tree but it makes it look ugly cutting so much off. I only cut dead or dying fronds myself but to each their own.
Yes because if there is still green and yellow palms are still shuttling nutrients back down into the center of the palm.
I have four of these and keep trying to use them as an excuse to get a wood chipper. And I hate those seed pods so I cut them before they can fall.
I love them
I have a smaller version of this pole saw as my palm trees are shorter....does this saw ever need sharpening? If so how? Cheers

Update they are doing fine and well. My 25 years of experience counts for something.
Their natural source of food is gathered fr the roots shot up through the bark.
@@mariosaenzlandscapingservi6786 Good to know that, feeling satisfied
The trees look Clean and great bro 👍
Yes as a landscaper Mario is right with foxtails they grow back even if new spear is cut it will grow back that what happened tkk on ares

Can you buy this pole saw online or is it only in stores
Both the brand is barnel USA and you can buy it online or I bought that one at green thumb coral springs Florida. They ship
Too many fronds cut ( above the 9 to 3) and this will lessen the food for such large specimens.
Had to cut more because they were twisted
How much was the tool and where did you get it at and what’s the reach limit

It’s too much trimming some of those were fine! Just saying now it look’s weird.

Nice that it is sharp and cuts but that isn't the correct way to take care of a palm tree.
I'm not trying to take care of it
@@mariosaenzlandscapingservi6786 So what are you trying to do to it? I'm confused too.

Actlly sometimes the shorter the better😄
That's not what she said
These poles only weigh 7 lbs and can be adjusted from 8’ to 22’.
Why do you take so much off?
Because the palm is sick so I take off all the diseased ones so new healthy ones grow
Isn that good?:))
Que daño tan terrible😡
No te creo
So you break plants 👎🏽
Trimpalm Trees how so?
Hurricane dismantled the palms so I'm taking off the ones that were ripped off. The palm is 100% back to normal
