It saddens me how many friends I've lost since becoming a Christian and leaving the world of Shakti Warrior retreats and yoga. I belong to a conservative church and their beliefs on yoga have led me to stop practicing, but sometimes I feel like I'm becoming too closed off. I have not found as strong of a "tribe" in my church as what I had with yoga. There are plenty of Christians who practice yoga without feeling any sense of conflict. I don't want to be a Christian who is afraid of the world. I want to partake, but should I?
Mary, I understand that sadness of losing old friends. I too have been navigating a similar path. I started typing out an answer for you backed up with scripture, but I think I'll make a video on it, as I'm sure many others also might have the same question. Thank you for sharing. In the meantime, I'll be praying for you to find a strong "tribe" in your church home as this path is narrow, and sometimes feel lonely. Bless you, sister!
Hi Mary, I left the New Age in the last few months. Twice I've done just a few yoga poses because I missed it and both times overnight I was demonically attacked. Now I know that I can't do yoga safely. I hope that helps.
