Ashens does a similar thing every year where they find some crazy, cheap,or otherwise goofy advent calendars and open them in one video a day. Of course, how they do it is they film all the videos in one day so you get the whole thing done and don't have to set up and shoot a whole video every day. Highly recommend looking them up and seeing what they do to get some ideas. You could even do them as a series of shorts if you want. Good luck and I hope it turns out better for you than it did for Ashens.
I have watched the Ashens advent calendars openings for years, since he did them on his own rather than as a competition. Love them. There won’t be any happy little reindeer or grass masks in my videos (probably a good thing!) but my intention is to actually film them in “real time” daily to capture the different energy of the day rather than do it all in one go.
Tabletop Gaming do a "calendar" where you get a board game (or related accessory) every day. They wrap everything individually and send it to you for £250.
I really like miniature advent calendars and last year i had the Mantic barroom brawl one. Sadly i had s negative experience with mine so won't be picking one up this year. Great to see a sci-fi variant
I couldn’t find a copy of the deep space calendar so I picked up barroom brawl. I love the idea that it’s a complete game system. (I’ve already opened it for my video, just like what you’re doing for deep space)
I nearly picked it up because I thought a lot of people would be thinking of using it as HeroQuest bits and bobs, but I really liked the look of Pest Control.
It's a neat idea, and other than a D&D adventure calendar I haven't seen anything quite like it. There's scope for a great new calendar every year if they are good enough value.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Ok,I hope it goes well then.
This looks like fun, right up my ally. Just ordered a copy of Deep space myself. Let the Christmas time begin.
I hope you enjoy it. I am really looking forward to opening mine.
Oh! For a moment there I thought there was a whole game behind each day! That would make one massive Advent Calendar!! 😅

Sorry to hear you had a problem with last years. Care to share what was wrong with it?
Looking forward to the advent series. 😄
Hopefully it will be fun.

Cool. I will have to check it out to see what was behind all the doors.
Good info thanks
Thanks for watching.
“I hear you’re a racist now, Father?”
Ahh good old Father Ted
@HivisoftheScale that line has been in my head for like 25 years
Down with this sort of thing!
Yes.. I think about that scene often and have for many many years.
That would be an ecumenical matter
I wasn't expecting thet Father Ted clip!
A Christmassy Ted is a festive tradition in my house. The countdown to Christmas doesn't truly start until we've watched it.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I have the same with watching Halloween (1978) in the week of Halloween.
Essential Halloween viewing. I heartily endorse this action!
The video on the day when you open the dice though… 😂
Going to have to test them for 1s.
@ 😂 👏
I had no idea about these... now I have orderd both of them - thanks I think?
Ha. You're welcome. I hope you enjoy them!
He's already filmed every day's opening 😊. He just couldn't wait😂. If Ashens can do it, why not?
@@natevaughn2307 My plan is actually not to do it like Ashens but to genuinely film day by day. I’m just hoping there are no grass masks.
Looking forward to bar room brawl for heroquest!... more heroquest😂😂😂
I nearly picked it up because I thought a lot of people would be thinking of using it as HeroQuest bits and bobs, but I really liked the look of Pest Control.
I opted to pick up both calenders, especially at only £25 each.
I thought that offer was a really good deal.
I brought the bar room brawl last year so opted for the sci fi this year. Not sure what Mantic will do next year? Walking dead maybe?

I've got the tavern brawl one.
I hope it's good!
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring same as looks great. I didn't know they did a space one until I watched this.
The games going to be hard to play when you have eaten all the tokens mistakenly as chocolates
I am sure they will be more nutritious than most of the junk I will end up eating through December!
