    In the future, would you please introduce some basic maintenance for the loco engine? For example, the instruction often suggests oiling the loco after 40 hours of running. How to open the loco without damaging the car shell and what parts needed to be oiled? Much Appreciated!

      I intend to talk about locomotive and track maintenance in the future. In the meantime you could take a peek at this video ua-cam.com/video/41Cts-OvNHs/v-deo.html Hope it helps - Enjoy ;-)

      Thanks. I will be doing S88 in the future - are you thinking of anything special when talking about S88 and signals tutorial. I intend to look at train automation - unsure if that covers what you are thinking? Enjoy ;-)

      Hi Mecha, signals unfortunately are expensive. If you are considering light signals, consider an external decoder like the m84 and some signals. This will become cheaper. Enjoy ;-)

    This may seem a stupid question but could C-track be temporarily used for 2 rail connection? Ignoring the centre studs.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  2 роки тому

      Hi Geoff, You can use the Märklin C-track for two rail if you remember to separate the rails (just as for the contact tracks). This is easy for straight and curved tracks as they are designed for it. It can also be done for the turnouts, but this is a larger operation. Remember for 3-rail (Märklin) you need to power the center and the rails while with 2-rail you power each of the rails.
      I have seen layouts where both 3-rail and 2-rail locomotives drive on the same stretch of track using this technique. The trick is to change the power depending on if it's 3-rail or 2-rail.
      Hope this helps. Enjoy ;-)

    The gearbox decoders cannot be configured with the central unit 2? Is it only possible with the cs3 central?? all the best.

      Hi Pellas, not sure what you mean by gearbox decoders? Are you talking about the decoder in the semaphore signal? If so, you can configure it using both CS2 and CS3. Enjoy ;-) Bo

    Another great video from MTF, thank you!!!
    I have a doubt related to crossing railroad. Is the Vollautomatischer Bahnübergang 7592 (Fully Automatic Railroad Grade Crossing) compatible with mfx and DCC? I know there is one mfx/DCC for Marklin C tracks (Article No. 74923), but not sure if this one could be used or adapted for K or M tracks. Thank you in advance MTF.

      Hi Pedro,
      Glad you like the video!
      As for the Märklin railroad crossings: None of them are mfx/DCC - they are made for contact tracks. This works both with an analogue and a digital (MM/FX/MFX/DCC) layout with Märklin track. The idea is that each rail is separated and when the train comes to a certain spot on the track it will short-circuit the rails and activate the railroad crossing. There is no need for any mfx/DCC - this happens automatically.
      The 3rd rail channel has a video on how to use the 7292 for M-track. The 7592 works in the same way. As I understand it the railroad crossing comes with everything needed. However, you might want to extend the contact section (using Märklin ) or make it wider across more tracks (Märklin 7593). I believe it is also possible to make your own contact track in K-track, but have never tried it. I did find a .pdf that looks comprehensive.
      Interesting information:

      - Instructions for K-track: members.ozemail.com.au/~rossstew/rms/pdf/solder_track_cutting.pdf
      Hope this helps. Enjoy ;-)

      Hi Enrico, the distant light signals (Märklin 76480/76481) do not have a decoder, but at connected to a block/entry/exit light signal - so these do not have a decoder or MFX. You can see how to connect the semaphore distant signals to the CS3 with MFX here in the video: 16:00. Enjoy ;-) Bo

      Does the distant light signal come with its own decoder?

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  4 місяці тому +1

      @@hubertvanmierlo The distant semaphore signal has a decoder (see ua-cam.com/video/FmEd5OKhnP8/v-deo.html)m while the distant light signal must be connected to a main signal decoder (see ua-cam.com/video/FmEd5OKhnP8/v-deo.html). Enjoy ;-) Bo
