Great unboxing video! I have the TD-1500 and it has provided me with many hours of music enjoyment.. One thing about the feet. They don't level the turntable and that was what I thought it would do.. I twisted it loose and it wobbled a lot and I could not tighten it again by hand.. So I had to remove the bottom cover board and tightened the bolt to ensure the feet are secure and do not wobble around.. Hope this helps others.. cheers.
An absolute Dream of a turntable. Just stunning.. In a few months the black version will be mine - All Mine :D Haven´t decided on what MC cart to go for, but looking at a Hana paired with one of Pro-jects balanced phono boxes.. Can´t wait to spin my old The Police records on this amazing deck :) Love your naration too :D
I would imagine getting rid of the crappy wall wart switch moder for a linear PSU would improve the performance and reduce potential for noise. I read one review saying the motor makes quite audible noise?
Hi, I also have this turntable but one thing I've never understood is the anti-skating adjustment, I can't keep my arm in balance without the centripetal force taking me inwards. adjustment made with an anti-skating test disc. Do you have any advice or is this normal???
The anti-skate is suposed to be a very "light touch" and its settings should not cause rapid movement in/out of the arm. I think you have not set the tracking force of the cart/stylus correctly. This is commonly 1.8 grams - 2.2 grams (but can be as high at 3 or 4 grams). Maybe invest in a digital stylus gauge like this: listeningpost.co.nz/shop/pro-ject-measure-it-e-digital-tracking-force-scale-2/
@@TLPCHC I keep the digital scale and the tracking force of the head is precisely adjusted to 2 grams as recommended by the parent company (Dynavector). I believe instead that it is the new settings of the latest Thorens arms that are set like this. I'm also a little perplexed about this because I knew that the centripetal force shouldn't push either inwards or outwards but evidently Thorens today with their new creations thinks differently 🤷🏻♂️
The build quality isn't as good as my Thorens TD 160 Super. The cheap looking platter has no separate inner platter and looks lightweight. I'll stick with my vintage turntable.
i have problems with mine. i have wow and flutter 0.15-0.2 and even sometimes 0.25 caused by optical incrimental encoder stabilization. Because it corrects speed often. like motor spins at 33.31 rpm and then encoder increase it to 33.33 causing wow and flutter instability. Then motor slows again to 33.31 and again stabilization see it and increase speed. it happens 1 time per minute. Drive system and motor in this turntable crap! for that price there should be synchronics good quality motor! Manual says that this Thorens has only 0.08% wow and flutter, its not true!
Thorens, always quality products
Yes. And the TD-1500 and its big brother the TD-1600 are amazing record players: listeningpost.co.nz/shop/thorens-td-1600-turntable-gloss-black/
Lovely, you spoil us with all this fantastic gear
I certainly try to

A transciptor design means you don't have to fuss too much about the level.

I have never noted a noise from the motor.
👍💕 loved my td 125 with shure ?
Yes - the TD-125 is a classic. It is getting on a bit though. A moden deck will have a way lower noise floor
@@TLPCHC had it a long time ago....🤣 but old school, stick to my transscriptor/sme ...

Have a chat with the company you purchsaed the deck from. It is doing something odd, and might just need a set of eyes on it.

I have no complaints for the price

I suggest you have a chat with the retailer you purchased the TT from. A good retailer will help put a solution in front of you
