The best granite on the planet has a few Frenchmen on it - and they're enjoying the hell out of this world-class climbing.
'Great things are done when men and mountains meet; This is not done by jostling in the street.' - William Blake
The boys find their dream pitch: extremely hard technical climbing on possibly some of the best granite there is. This is why they came to climb in Patagonia, and they'll never forget it.

Best climbing series I've seen.
Sweatypalmswonderfulness sitting right here at my desk in my comfy office. Have to keep wiping my hands off. Amazing sequence!
Peter Lewis Exactly what I was experiencing.
Loved it!!! Coolest stemming climb I've seen!! Well done
Inspiring
Just Incredible. Good Boys!
Just discovered Sean O’Driscoll in 2022, he seems to be something of a new-age, renaissance alpinist.
Fun to watch the best in action.
What a beauty! Well done
Wow incredible
super fantastic
That P - B cracked me up lmao
Beautiful!
Escalada de alto nivel! Espectacular!
Admiration pour tout!
Can I get some of that chalk for my hands while I watch?
No, you'll have to deal with the sweat
This looks surreal
Amazing
Thanks for that video! Good work filming! Alpinism is like life, ruled by chance and nature and your devotion to your dreams, and your acceptance of your fate is equal to level of happiness that you find at the end of the day.
Thx Best videos ever!
This kind of climbing, these climbers, seems so insane to me. I don't know but it has to be freezing cold out there and there so exposed... real men.
Real men know the difference between "they´re" and "there".
bit harsh man, this is You Tube not his thesis statement.
sorie kondi
are you really suggesting that being able to cope with the level of grammar a second grader would do, is on par with the level of somebody who would write a thesis? Not really...
Blitzpunk Why are you acting like you practice proper grammar whenever you comment on you tube?
"are you really suggesting that being able to cope with the level of grammar a second grader would do, is on par with the level of somebody who would write a thesis? Not really..."
The first letter of your sentence should be a capital letter. Also, "would do" sounds funny. It should be: "can cope with" or something similar; moreover, the sentence itself is long and wordy. I would suggest putting a period after "can cope with". Furthermore, an ellipse is meant to be used to indicate information being left out of a quote. Yet here you are using it to extenuate your caddishness. Sounds to me like you are being hypocritical correcting my grammar when your own is no better eh?
*****
You can cry all you want, but it´s you who doesn´t know the difference between "they´re" and "there". And that´s not on the level with random spelling mistakes. It´s really sad.
That is pure adrenaline 😵😨😬
Woaaah ça c'est balèze! Bien joué!
passaggio epico!!
Good job!
Bravo, super human !
SICK climbin!
Lifes depending on a friend in some little crack...And hell, the wind is blowing up there.
Amazing !!! Rispect 👌
Now that is Climbing!
Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll inspires me to be att better man
marvelous!!!!!!!!
Damn what a beast!
Realy Epic...
Cool video and great climbing. But why the bolt? That crack in the back can obviously be laced with good gear. The bolt is lame.
How do these guys climb in the freezing cold!
CRAZY
Legend!!!
Anybody what is the name of the the device he sticks in that small crack which he connects to himself that protects his fall? That's crazy, it doesn't appear to be strong enough
I just finished a run and I can't tell if the palm sweat is from the run or the video...
Amazing lead! Whats the music?

¡¡¡ EXTREMADAMENTE DESQUICIADOS Y ADMIRABLES !!!

i've been wondering how the camera got up before the climbers. can somebody explain
1) Cool camera work
2) There are little bolts/attachments there already?
3) Who put them there? Park rangers?
4) How can you know to trust them?
No , there are no bolts in the wall. They use Nuts and Anchors that they place in the cracks in the wall to secure themselves
EDIT: You can see them at 3:55
1) yes!
2) The belgians only use bolts when impossible to use anything else.
3) They must have put themselves. All the climbers they always climb all the pitches in first. Maybe they opened the pitch in aid climbing, but after they tried and tried until freeing, that's their style.
4) How can you trust all the other climbers?
2.) there are bolts in the wall. See 1:50 he clips one of his quickdraws. Without the bolts it would be a trad. route. Go see wiki for the difference
3) No, normally they are put there by other climbers
4) you cant always trust them ;-) but you cant either trust a micro-nut or bad placed friend
park rangers lol!
ive been confused before, but as climber go up, kind of freestyling, kinda not, (as in they put the hanging attachment things below them, attach themselves to it, and climb up) they continue to attach bolts as they climb higher and higher.
1:49 who put the bolts in ?
Probably themselves?
+Gonzalo S. Nido The previous team who tried it!
Merlin Didier but how did the previous team did it? I imagine is was harder for them
Elias Manzanares put in bolts as they go, it doesn't make it easier
rappelled from the top and bolted aka rapp bolting
Et vice et versa! Qué pied!
Throwing rocks from heaven! :P
3:29 That shout of exhilaration. Those are the moments we live for; when you're pushing yourself past your limits and you know you've finally reached your goal.
Except I only hit those on routes of 5.11-/+
beauty
I have to admit that I love elvators : )
جميل magnifique great
Ahahaha ! Bien taré comme spot !

The dream.
The camera man waiting at the top.
Elles sont où les prises ? O_o
It's like a dance with a huge immovable, implacable partner. Very impressive
My only question is how do you poo up there?
off the edge
eww
The poop in a bag that is specifically for doing that in. They haul it up with all of their other gear. The more you know lol
RipGNAr Thank you

where in Patagonia? Argentinian Patagonia or Chilean Patagonia?
Chile, Paine, Cerro Catedral
not french... Belgian.
Definitely French
Trevor Clack No, Sven is right. They are Belgian. They come from the southern part called Wallonia, where they speak French.

Kearress Gotcha. I thought he was talking about the language they were speaking. Thanks for clearing that up.
+Sven Lallart Cool, thanks for pointing this out. To the untrained ear it sure sounds like French, must be very close though. This is one of my favorite youtube segments. Every few months I watch it several times. Man, I really miss climbing!
Keith Ward
The language is French, the country they come from is Belgium.
2:55 how is that safe
It's not an ideal gear placement, but would probably hold short falls. Climbing is not always safe.
Frenchmen? Belgian men!
Where is this granite?
Cerro Catedral en Torres del Paine
GREAT vid!!! Have done some big wall climbing but not at that commitment rating (level). I'm not sure how well I could tolerate the camera crew dangling all around me while focusing at the task at hand. Well done gentlemen. Be safe.
66 people had to buy a new mouse due to extremely sweaty hands .
