Make Advanced Braids in Blender 3.5! (Cornrow Generator | Free Download)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2024
- Blender 3.5 is amazing, and the new hair assets are a true gem to finally create more types of hairstyles without pulling your own hair out in the process. This geometry node system converts simple curves into cornrow strands that are completely customizable, in a procedural manner. Especially have a look at the cornrow braid geometry node section and play with the frequency, thickness, and much more!

Thank you so much for watching and if you enjoy the Cornrows generator, please leave a positive rating!

These look awesome. To help them look even more official add what we call a taper. Look up braids and corn rows with taper. If its a girl you would look up cool african american braided hairstyles with baby hair. Black woman tend to style their baby hairs and and black man tend to have a taper when getting braids. Great work! please keep it up!
Thank you so much for the insights! Appreciate that a lot!
You are insane and amazing - thank you so, so much! This is beyond anything I expected. I saw your email about the new node when I woke up and it made my day despite having a hefty work day ahead of me. Thank you, I'm sure many others will love this too.
I'm very happy to hear that! Thanks a lot for the kind words and the comments! Stay awesome!
rubyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i am looking to do some hair so thanks for getting him to make it
@@Romeo615Videos 😂💙
bro these nodes are crazy, thank you! mixed it with some baby hairs from the regular particle system and it goes hard it looks super realistic !
That's amazing!!! Thanks man 😇
Ahhh thank you! And for free? Bless. This is so wonderful, thank you.
Thank you kindly! 😇
Really cool. Had cornrows once. It really gets itchy if you keep them for too long.
Thanks! Hahaha, they look absolutely amazing though! 😜
Hey man, this does work well with meshes of other scales, the cornrows end up looking really messy due to the size of curves being different, is there a fix for this??
Looks great! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!! 😇
So amazing, you did a fantastic job. I have a character I have been stuck on because I wanted to implement this new system with and you really came in the nick of time!!! The only thing I seem to be having trouble with is the attach hair curve to surface and the braid connects seems to be attaching only to the geometries origins when I use my own mesh or any other. How do you solve for that issue? Thank you good sir!
Thank you so much! I think the issue is that you may not have proper UV maps on your object. The curves are being added on your object surface (where you do the hair sculpting etc) and the geometry nodes snap it to the surface of the selected object based on the UV Map. So make sure you have the right surface object and UV map selected in the attach hair curves to surface geometry nodes. Also make sure those match the settings in the curve properties panel.
Secondly, make sure that the hairs don't overlap with the ends of the object geometry. If the curve starting points can't find a surface to attach to it will indeed snap to the origin. This may also happen if you have your normals set incorrectly. Perhaps try to select everything in edit mode, and flip the normals ( shift+N).
Let me know if that worked!
Let me know what you think of this one! Are there any other hairstyles you'd like me to cover?
You're awesome! Could you please cover dread locs? the long hanging ones, not the kind in the afro video.
@@still_breathin Thank you! I'll try to make a tutorial on dread locs soon!
@@NinoDefoq I’ll add a bonus. I have a friend whose hair is in free form locs.
A tutorial on how to do free form locs would be cool. But to REPLICATE his, if you can come up with a solution you are the 🐐
You are a national treasure.
Thank you so much! 😇
Hi, do you have any experience trying to export this kind of hair to Unreal Engine 5?
We'd love to use it, but our character artist tells me this method uses some kind of subdivison that doesn't export to UE and the hair ends up super blocky in the engine.
Thank you so much for this! and btw can we add some hair dynamics for this one?
Thank you for the kind words! I'd love to get into hair dynamics in geonodes in the fture or other ways to add dynamics (cloth sims perhaps). I'll keep you all posted :)
This is awesome! Thanks a lot!
Nice vid can this work for a sideways braid hairstyle? Like a pop smoke style? And will this translate well to UE5?
you're doing great sir!!
That's so kind, thank you so much!
This addon would have been great had you kept the new people in mind. I've been trying to get this to work on a different head and it just wont act right. I dont know enough about blender to just use the addon easy and simple.
a few things, i dont want the braids to connect in a pony tail, I shouldnt have to mess around trying to comb the hair it should be a option to auto wrap the head mesh thats the part i hate the most.
then there is no room to make fresh clean parts between the braids...I hate when tech people have the know how but not understand the actual process or end goal... Dude this was so good and bad all in one. Dude it should have been easy to draw the style of braid based on the head mesh. Back braids start from the front of the head with a simple add hair here and it auto wraps to the end of the head with option for longer braid at the end. If you wanted to make a design with the braid curving around the head mesh like braids that go down the side of the head. Dude i wish you would re make this legit with step by step how to make the braids "straight" even, and with a crispy part....you made em look all crack head, a huge part of braids is having a super clean part and tight braid.
Great work, I'm gonna check it out!! Liked and subbed 👍
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this!
how can we convert this to a alembic groom so we can bring it into unreal
wow. cool lessons!
thanks for sharing!
how can i export obj or fbx hair only to use in c4d?
Thank you!
Yay
👍
Wow , Fantastic tutorial and also thank you for the awesome hair system , Is it possible to convert this hair to hair card to using it in other program Like Character creator 4 ? /
I appreciated you ❤
Thank you so much! You can convert this to a mesh by adding a realize instance node and applying it. Or converting everything to a mesh in the nodes. To get it to the hair particle system to apply dynamics go into the hair sculpt mode and convert it to a particle system at the top. Hope that helps!
@@NinoDefoq Thank you man , You are Awesome 😍
