    Wow what an awesome place. That would be a great place to watch the sun set and rise. Thanks for the great tour, I am making a bucket list for when I am travel nursing. This will definitely add this to the list.

      It's a hidden gem and one we plan to return to. We fell in love with this area, and didn't even have time to explore the associated state park in the area. Thanks Ron so much for following, we're humbled by the great people that take valuable time from their day to watch our little channel, and then friends like you who take it a step further to comment to us. Thank you! 💙Norm & Kim

    I am catching up on your videos and so happy to see this one. I am impatiently waiting for my new (first) trailer to be built but City of Rocks has been on my list as one of the first places I want to go next summer. Then maybe up to Redfish lake. Thanks for all your inspiration.

    There's a City of Rocks in New Mexico Brian and I had just been talking about. I first thought you were talking about there until you said Southern Idaho. The National Reserve is spectacular. Oh, we got your hat! Thank You!

      @MountainBeaches  5 років тому +1

      I found out there were two City of Rocks when I Googled it for information. That's kind of crazy. That's one of the reasons I put up the map, and mentioned Southern Idaho a couple of times. Glad you got the hat. How's things going for you guys?

      @@MountainBeaches I'm super excited. We're getting ourselves ready for a coast to coast trip. I've never been to the east coast. I've been watching a lot of videos on lots of areas in the planning of our trip. My problem is I want to visit everywhere and see everything. Other than some major stops to visit family, we'll just have to keep our travels fluid and let the journey take us where it wants us to go. How are you guys doing? ~Lucy

      @@WhoaNellieRVAdventures oh wow, we are so jealous! That sounds like an amazing trip. It's on our bucket list but we have Alaska next summer, then maybe the year after we'll do something similar. We're doing great, getting ready for a couple of BEACH trips coming up in November.

      It really is a sleeper location but SO amazing. The granite rock formations were spectacular. Rock climbing, hiking, camping... So fantastic. Are you a rock climber? If not, that doesn't really matter, there is so many ways for everyone to enjoy.

    Life changing event happened here. While camping as a young family, I accompanied my oldest son on a free-climb up what we called bath-rock. At the top is a large bathtub size hole that fills with water during the rare rains, but it was dry and hot that day. My oldest son (about 14 at the time) saved me from serious injury or death on that free-climb (no ropes). For over 30 minutes, my son had been several yards above me the whole way. At more than 100ft up, both my toe-holds slipped and I was dangling over the ledge, then my left-hand also lost grip. Just as I realized that I did not have enough strength to hold my out of shape body weight, with just my feeble right hand grip, I knew I was to fall. I futilely yelled out his name. Somehow (only God knows) he had anticipated my fall, had managed to scale back down and caught my hand by pressing it hard (with what seemed to me super-human strength) into the small granite crevice I was holding with my right hand (my only remaining anchor-point). It seemed 10-15 seconds passed until I regained my other three hold-points with my feet and left hand. When we reached the top, I sit down exhausted, stunned, probably in shock, coming down from the nausea of an adrenaline-rush, just staring at his hand-print on the back of my right-hand. He then sit down beside me, put his arm around my shoulders, (I remember feeling small and trembling). We sit and cried together for much too brief of a moment -- I said thank you for saving me and he said, "Dad, I couldn't loose you." It was granite and so is the memory. My son has been estranged from me for about 6 years now. One day, we will climb bath-rock again. Thanks for sparking this memory. You two are wholesome and nice.

      Hi Mike!
      Thank you so much for sharing this very emotional personal story. I was in tears as I read this to Norm. I cannot really put into words how your story has touched our hearts today. This is why we do what we do. Our hope is to serve our viewers in some small way. If we were able to do that for you then we are truly blessed. It is our hope that you and your son will have a chance come together to climb in City of Rocks again and share your hopes and dreams with each other. Dream-Discover-Adventure! Don't wait to long. 💙💙💙

    Great job you two! We will definitely put that one on our bucket list😀! I do have a question for you. Do you like the window that is above your gas range? It looks like food would make it messy, do you need a window there? That's the only thing I don't like of the Reflection. We haven't bought our 5th wheel yet, still doing our research. We have three that we like, the Reflection, Solitude and Montana. We are planning a trip to Denver and Salt Lake to the RV shows. Love your videos!!

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  5 років тому

      Thank you so much Rhonda. Do we need the window behind the stove? No! Do we like it? YES!!!!!! We've learned to pull up the blind on that window before cooking though. Then when, not if, things splatter, it's easier to clean the window than it is the blinds. One of the things we loved about this RV was the extra window because it just ads more light. Hope that helps. We looked at the Montana too, and they are great RV's but the ones we looked at had the kitchen on the camp or door side and we didn't like that. Going to the RV shows where you can look at all the models at once is a great idea. When do you plan to make your purchase? 💙 Norm & Kim
