This is the way life has been for decades and soon it will be a century. Change is needed in the "System." The system needs to be modified to appreciate the learning differences and gifts each student has.

Peter, I really wish South Africa today were the way you describe it here. Alas! Crime, corruption and a dog eat dog culture run rampant in post Apartheid South Africa

Thanks for sharing these wise words that apply as much today as it did yesterday. HOW do we get these messages to the right people so that we can transform education and industry practices around organizational learning and assessments?

Hi Sonja, I am responding to your question about ...getting the message to the right people to transform education and industry practices. I believe that you need people who are committed to not only be advocates of systems thinking, but deeply intuitive to the people in their organizations that share a desire for balance and harmony.
You could make it a HR initiative, but it would fall short if the intention and desire is not really present. Thinking and feeling need to be engaged together, all five disciplines working together.

Systems thinking is not enough, the world we know today has been built in terms of systems, but it really depends on the vision. Systems science can be used for good or for evil. You can’t just treat humans like modeling components, you can’t model human behavior.

This sounds pretty similar to the austrian economic school of thought as far as I am familiar with it. Axioms of human action governing our human systems not top down micro management.
