The day Clowney was to make his school decision, pretty much every student was constantly refreshing his or her phone or laptop waiting for the news. I was in class during it and pretty much none of us were paying attention to the professor because we were so anxious. As soon as we got the news, we all started excitedly "whispering" to each other with these huge grins on our faces: "We got him! We fucking got him!" Professor wasn't too thrilled with the commotion, but he understood what was happening.
We SCar fans don't really have much successful football history to celebrate and reminisce on. But that few years of watching Clowney terrorize QBs, Lattimore break tackles, Shaw sling and run it, and Spurrier's coaching was a thing of beauty. It was a damn privilege.

Nah bro you are hyping that way too much it was a great hit but he went through completely unblocked, the only thing he had to do was see the handoff and run at the guy and destroy him, anyone of those guys on that team could have made that play, Michigan didn't even try to block him lol. Now anyone of those guys prolly couldn't have hit him that hard and make him fumble like that. However I have seen Aaron Donald make backfield tackles on running backs while being blocked by 2 guys and sometimes 3. Just reaches through them and drags down a 225lb running back with 1 arm. That is way more impressive than some guy going through unblocked and getting a big hit on a guy who never even got looked at by even 1 NFL team.

We HAD to pay the man whatever we had to. He was worth every penny. He to that point had never been injured. Since then he has been once or twice unfortunately but it's not ballet, it happens. I know Clowney hasn't been a wash out. But just seeing his highlights and knowing what he has done and what he's able to do, you'd expect him to be like a feared and completely dominant player. Like a Lawrence Taylor times a thousand. When LT was on the field, you knew it. Everybody was waiting for him, and he was the spark. You just don't get that when Clowney's on the field. And I was excited thinking that was going to be how it was with him. Although I've never been a fan of the teams he's played for, I would love to see what LT brought to the field, again.

SCAR fan since birth (36yo) just a note, that wasn't Clowney's last collegiate game. That was his sophomore season in 2012. His last game was against Wisconsin Capitol One Bowl. He announced leaving early immediately after the win. This was the last year without a playoff when bowl games actually mattered. That Michigan game came down to the final drive, and this play may have never happened if there were playoffs.
Speaking of his last year, and the Chicken Curse, The Cocks were a 4th and 20 jump ball, one armed, miracle catch from a true freshman Tennessee Volunteer away from finishing 12-1 as this ONE PLAY set up a GW FG as time ran out,. THAT play kept us from playing AUBURN in the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP getting snubbed for a Missouri team who WE BEAT earlier in the season.
Sure "IF" my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle, but one could argue IF that catch didn't happen, we could have played FSU in the last BCS Championship. Spurrier would have stayed, Recruits would have stayed, A LOT "could" have happened. Instead over a year later Surrier quit mid season and our bitter rival, who couldn't beat us, FSU or any other ranked opponent for 5 Years or so benefitted IMMENSELY from our downfall, fsu's downfall, a weak schedule and thus a perennial recruiting haven for all the talent nation wide, stealing every blue chip instate and arguably cruising to Championships with the cushion of losing a game bc the playoffs. ANd....... THE CHICKEN CURSE LIVES ON........not salty....at all.
