My recruiter lied to me. I wonder if that's ever happened to anyone else or I was the only one? 🤪 Okay, it was Air Force. Maybe the Army is different.

I was humint for 8 years. You get to go on plenty of missions, get attached to combat units. Essentially like a navy corpsman with the marine corps. Or you do supersecret squirrl stuff if you get lucky. However after i got out me and every other humint person i know no longer does humint on the civilian side because its a very competative field. I applied to so many humint jobs and was told i was "over qualified". Never ever been told that in my life. The money used to be in contracting overseas which was around $300,000 tax free. Now its nowhere near that. I got into a completely different field now because no other intel position would take me. Not sure why since i was over qualified in humint itself. Well needless yo say, myself and everyone i knew who got out no longer do humint anymore. Everyone i know who was humint and still in...reclassed to a different job. U.S. army, do a better job in recruiting and stop lying to new recruits. Thats why you have the lowest numbers. You lie to people to get them to join then they find out you lied. Then they tell everyone and word spreads like wildfire. So pretty much what i am trying to say is....Army, youve been exploited.
I’m considering this MOS for the ARNG. Do you still believe it’s a waste of time if I just wanted to try this job out for 3 years? Or do you have better re-up mos careers in mind?

My buddy is doing this; got deployment orders right after AIT immediately; 11 months overseas; is already an E5 and got commended by the White House for a mission(TS crap)

If your asking what they are… shut up, do what your told, or you will feel so much pain, you will forget that happiness was ever something that even existed. Or something along those lines…
It honestly does have a decent amount to do with your MOS, and your leadership. The Army will never know what rules it wants, they will change constantly. If you have a more “hands on” job title, you will have more of a stricter, less happy go lucky environment. It’s not dreadful, but you are learning incredibly important stuff that will determine life or death. This does depend on your leadership though. If you have a more behind the desk mos, but your leadership are a bunch of Squares with tempers, then they will little dick energy bully you. It really depends on what your doing, and where your doing it at. The military is a great option for some, not so great for others. Just trying to be honest with you, and I hope you make the best decision for you. ARMY STRONG!
