if u just say layers, ur barber will fuck it up. it has to be layered all onto the forehead. The hair by the top of the head needs to be long. The layers should all be condensed by ur forehead area. Then u need length below ur eye, so when it flips, its above the eye

yeah my barber just cut my hair like the shorter one but i think the longer haircut would look better on me so i'm planning on letting it grow out.

As a hairstylist no. This is no perm rid size yiu can use a curling iron ir flat iron but no perm would give this result.

just say you want it on the top having enough layers and the cut shorter the sides, then you learn it how to style it by yourself
