Both my wife and I watched this movie in KL and we were just in love with this movie. The songs are superb and took us to down memory lane. How could this movie go into flop category ? Didn't understand except the media went colossally negative on this movie which impacted the audience. Wish the media could be positive about this movie and I agree with the comment as to this movie turning into a cult movie later!!! What an irony!!!!

I am shoked to see this movie flopped. Then I remembered that this movie was not released in Turkey in Turkish language. Scenary was absolutely amazing. Actorship was also the same. But indian people did not like to see an American Style stage at curtain. We can't judge crowd but while the crowd ignore the true art, how can it be more improved? I sent my special thanks to Mr. Anurag Kashyap via Instagram message for shoting this film and directing it. That was something I would never and will never do -sending a message to a famous person- but I did. I think this movie deserved more savings. Maybe the time was wrong for it but I'm glad because I haven't missed it.

They only watch mindless films like Baaghi, Kick(Ravi Teja was good in original one,But it's remake with Salman was bad),Dabang, Kalank get hit in India, but concept based films generally flop like Gangs of Wasseypur,Bombay Velvet , No smoking, D-Day, Baby which are much greater than those shitty films

This movie was made by anurag kashyap.. Not karan .. Karan was antagonist in the movie

Rahul Mallik yeah..it was Anurag Kashyap’s vision after all. But Karan had to believe in the director and the story to put in money. This movie had a huge budget, but made very little. When a move of such stature is not well received, I feel, as a producer you wouldn’t want to put money in movies like that anymore right. You get a sense that no one wants to watch it anymore. On the flip side, a movie like ADHM, a good movie in some aspects, but lacks the grit and integrity of Bombay velvet made about 250 crores. This shows the audiences interest, and what they want to watch. So ultimately you want to put your money where it can come back, not where you have losses.
