    I just found this and I'm excited about learning how to make these stair risers. I need something for my stairs but I haven't seen anything too attractive in my price range. Thanks for sharing.

      I even have a course on how to hook The Queen Anne Rose Stair Riser if you need more guidance. Https://howtorughook.com/qar
      My stairs have all different patterns on each stair. I only have about 1/2 of the staircase done. I love it as it is.

    ?..Do you use upholstery thread to bind...

      You suppose you could, but I prefer 100% wool yarn. It will wear the longest. Cotton tends to get dirty very quickly, so it will stay cleaner. If you prefer a narrow gauge yarn, such as sock yarn, that is OK, but I would not go larger than worsted weight.

    ?? Can you use rug warp when doing punch needle

    • @rughooking

      I've heard of people using rug warp when they punch with wool strips. If you are using yarn, then Monk's Cloth is the best bet. Unfortunately, that is a much thinner backing that is thinner and tends to stretch out of shape.

    If you frame the rig, would burlap be okay to use

      In my opinion, No, because it is time, not foot traffic that damages the backing.

    ? Since rug worp is cotton will it shrink if it gets wet

      I've had to wash one piece. It was wash it or throw it away. I had nothing to lose. Washing had no effect on it.

    ? What thread do you whip stitch the twill tape edge with?

    • @rughooking
      @rughooking  3 роки тому

      Anything will work. Clothing stays together for a long time, right? If you want something stronger, try button hole or quilting thread.

    ??? Plus it could be more of a tripping hazard!

      The thickness of the finish is something to think about if you put your rugs on the floor. I always assume every rug will end uo on the floor...
