Miele has slipped. I have a integrated Miele fridge along with every other possible Miele appliance in my home. I 100% regret the investment. The integrated fridge - lasted 7 years before dying (closed loop refrigerant failure, not repairable). The microwave / oven is not serviceable and cannot be cleaned thoroughly due to short sighted design. My dishwasher didn't function properly at 2 years and the technician advised to simply use as is as it's not worth repairing. I thought I was buying quality, regrettably Miele today is NOT the same as Miele 20 years ago.
Anyone know how to remove the drawers for cleaning on a mastercool fridge?!? Also i HATE my miele dishwasher. 😫😫😫 it’s awful and the plastic is so cheap. Massively disappointed.
Miele does not manufacture their refrigerators or freezers, they come from Bulgaria and Turkey in a BSH owned plant. Depending upon your region, Miele formerly outsourced refrigeration to Liebherr for EU and Asian markets. Within the last 2-3 years, all refrigeration systems are sourced from BSH. All other appliances and components with Miele brand come from Miele and one of their 5 global manufacturing plants. As a custom builder, we offer kitchen packages of Wolf-SubZero or Miele. The Miele kitchens we use True or SubZero refrigeration systems and ice makers. Other than 2 homes we completed in 2021-22 during severe constraints on product wherein we switched to Thermador, which fwiw has come back to bite us with several appliance failures that my dealer has been responsive in attempting to resolve, we have completed over 3 dozen homes in last 10 years. I would need to look up exact numbers but I’m guessing it’s at least 75% of our customers choose Miele over Wolf. We’ve had minimal call backs either either brand and the few we’ve had, my supplying dealer resolved quickly and efficiently. While we live here in CO, we own a few vacation homes, all homes have full Miele appliances except SubZero fridges. I cannot recall a single major failure. In fact the last time we had ANY issue with a Miele appliance was the built in coffee maker that had a noisy rotary pump. I contacted Ferguson’s in Bozeman even though they are an hour away from our BigSky home and roads were icy. They had the unit repaired in under an hour, all under warranty. Maybe some folks are having issues with their Miele appliances but from personal experience, Miele and Wolf are the 2 most reliable luxury brands. Their cooking appliances are so easy to use, someone like me, that can barely boil water, can pretty easily cook nearly anything making me seem competent in a kitchen 🤣🤣
Do you want aesthetic appeal or proper refrigeration? Miele designs and manufacturers all of their appliances, except their refrigeration systems. The Miele refrigerator is manufactured by BSH. SubZero has its exclusive ethylene gas scrubber, means produce stays fresher longer. They also make 3 very different lines; Pro, Classic and Integrated. Within those 3 lines, they offer several different sizes and door/drawer styles. The top mount compressors make all shelves more accessible for the vertically challenged compared to the Asian brands that employ bottom mounted compressors. I’d say True is the best built refrigerator, the SubZero the best designed. Everything else is on a lower tier, albeit also a lower cost.
All they need now is to have repair staff that are properly trained and not incompetent people who spend 90% of their service call on the phone and has to come back on multiple occasions. They keep swapping out parts mindlessly in a trial and error manner.
I have always loved Miele appliance performance - had them in our home for nearly 20 years and on two yachts. The sad thing is finding service repair people AND working with Miele directly even with extended warranties was a nightmare. One guy came out and repaired my exhaust hood with duct tape! I didn't know until it started falling apart after the warranty and another person came out and the section fell suddenly in his hands. I took photos as did he and sent them to Miele. Months went by and lots of email promises then silence. More silence. Same thing with a dishwasher problem. They don't know how to manage a service department for sure. We are now building a new home and sadly we won't be buying any new Miele appliances. They simply don't care.

It is truly a shame. The product used to be stellar and the company used to care. Not so for the last six years steady.
