Oh we are exploring and exhausting all options. From what I recall they don't have front bumpers, but perhaps worth it to check again. Just waiting for the Aerostar aftermarket to explode one of these days.... Janky do thanky
First of all, I’m glad the accident didn’t have nefarious consequences for you. However, hearing about all the possibilities you considered gave me anxiety! It’s good to know that this situation could lead to another project that might bring happiness to you or your loved ones.
Janky do thanky. Anxiety is a way of life for me sometimes, hehe, so all in a day's work really. But yes other than possibly to that poor animal, nothing too serious really. Always trying to make the most of of any situation, really appreciate all the kind words of solidarity from the comments section. I've taken some time to just sit with what I want to do with the situation, and am leaning towards just trying to collect parts, which should be a fun little scavenger hunt. Much obliged
One of my more tasteful ideas on the wheels I think, they really take the look to another level, with the whitewalls. Now I'm all convinced I want to swap this out for a manual transmission to make it truly a "sport" model. Time will tell, janky do thanky for the acknowledgement, onward and upward!
Janky do Thanky! Its a way of life around here, I hope the beast got away cleaner than the Aero. Sometimes you hit the deer, and sometimes they hit you...
Janky do Thanky! Quite proud of myself for not having gone out and immediately purchased another Aero. These videos are proving quite cathartic and serve to hold myself accountable for my hoarding tendencies
Congrats on hitting 1k subs. Sorry about the car. Enjoying your enthusiasm for Aerostars! Here in Poland these cars are very rare. Only 2 listed online in here. I imagine getting parts is a real struggle,
Wow, Poland. Sorry for the lateness of this response, but if there are any active listing for Aero's in Poland I'd love to see them, feel free to send anything my way at afjanky@gmail.com If you are willing to pay for shipping I imagine parts wouldn't be that hard to track down, as the Aerostar shared a lot of parts with the Ranger, Taurus, etc, especially if it has the 3.0 V6, which was by far the most common powerplant. But trim stuff, especially bumpers, are getting very hard to come by, so a mixed bag overall. Janky do thanky for the kind words!
Janky do Thanky quirky! A lot of ebay-ing recently, and I think we may have a trip to a junkyard planned soon! Silver lining is its always nice to have an excuse to go raid the pick-n-pull lot, and just take a trip down memory lane with all the old cars there.
I see a lot down in those areas! I was on the trail of a wonderful customized black Aero with red wheels that sold super quick. Virginia and Maryland too, that lower eastern seaboard has a lot of nice ones, and usually much less rusty than in the NY/New England/Ohio/Michigan area where I also find a lot. My only trouble with looking that far is either driving it back (which I've tried and failed twice to do, altho I'm not opposed to trying again) or, especially if its already a parts car, getting it shipped, which sometimes is more expensive than the vehicle itself. But I'm always looking...
So true! Just a crazy series of events, couldn't have scripted it any better, basically throwing a bag of money off of a cliff, lol, but good news is that if I can get the aesthetics patched up should have a lot of preventative maintenance out of the way. Janky do thanky, sorry to have missed some good Autumn season Aero-starring, but springtime should be very exciting, and hopefully while doing the front of the vehicle I can get into some of the much needed rust repair on the driver's side rockers. One thing at a time... Janky do thanky
I have a 1997 Aerostar extended model. I bought it for the engine and transmission to put in my 1986 Boyd Coddington Aerostar. It runs great but doesn't have reverse. The body is in near perfect condition; I really want a short model for parts for my Aerostar. Id be willing to trade if you're interested. My complete 97 Extended Aerostar; for yours.
Wow, I'd love to see this Boyd Aerostar. Do you have any pictures? I very much appreciate the offer but I'm pretty set on fixing up this one. I'm sure you could find a parts Aerostar for less than $1000. I'm looking at the moment too...
Maybe I'll finally have a reason to get out to the west coast... Nice Fiat! Owe you another email. You may be closing in on me for total vehicles in our respective fleets!
Yea, tough one there, I sort of played it by the book, and in the end the insurance claim will help make the '93 even better than it was before the collision, just going to take a little time... The benefits of having multiple cars in the fleet.
Janky do thanky crease, just metal and plastic at the end of the day. A considerable amount of plastic...It did make me feel like the Aero is pretty solid, don't think there was anything budging frame wise, rad and all that seems perfectly intact. She'll live to fight another day! Janky do thanky
I'm always shocked when i see a vehicle that is still fully functional aside from some minor cosmetic damage being called a total loss.

Make it 1001 subscribers for this unfortunate event, I live in the countryside and have hit a few small deer, good luck to you!

Lots of choices on what to do. Good luck finding the most effective choice for the money and time. Love your lemons to lemonade attitude.

Ah yes hitting the 1000 subs deer, a rite of passage.
Lol, another perfect comment. Janky do thanky. I guess if I ever hit 10k I will have to drive very, very carefully...
