    Hi Sir, Agree with your point on saving money. But Quality of the product is also has much difference.
    The own brand product has 2 variation on Same products (ASDA has smart price,extra special) with quality differences. It’s upto Individual to satisfied with what they pay.

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  4 роки тому +1

      Asda and tesco essentials sometimes I agree . But some supermarkets like co-op don't have those variations. They have only one option and it is good quality and sometimes 1/3rd of the price of branded products. True that it is up to the individual. But if someone is on budget, I wanted to give the clarification they can live with a decent product rather than compromising too much.

      @Anand Chennai2London Agree and Also with accessibility to the super market.

    Very accurate. Well done Anand :)
    Depending on the individual's personal circumstance and their lifestyle I think the necessary salary varies. I personally feel UK is very expensive to live in while it is a single person income for a family of 3-4 with small kids (preschoolers or lower). The cost of childcare is ridiculously high and if it is single income household you definitely need much more than £2000 take-home, else you won't save anything at the end of the day. I guess, It's not too bad if kids are going to school.
    Well done for covering every single use case there is out there. Video was quite robust, accurate and complete.
    The only item I feel you have missed out is the cost of visa to migrate there (in circumstance where your company does not bare the cost of visa for your family) and the cost of citizenship if you plan to settle permanently. This cost is extremely high in UK and cannot be overlooked. Please do add this item as I feel those who are coming from India have no idea that this cost is upon them if they start dreaming of permanent residency & citizenship. Another one would be cost of college fees for those who have older kids and plan to make them study undergrad here.

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому

      Thank you for your lovely comment zestjaiarun. Yes childcare costs are very high. I had made a video on my wife's channel exclusively on UK childcare costs in detail here - ua-cam.com/video/DHpt2buF-8I/v-deo.html

      Yes Subbiah, I worked in Singapore for a year in 2001. Because it is a small city with excellent public transport the car prices are high. If UK only had London then it will be similar. In all of 13 years I have been here, I have never gone into Central London by car.

    Great Job Anand.. Very helpful indeed.. BTW, the house rental rates you mentioned in this video is for fully / partly furnished units or unfurnished one?

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +1

      Thanks Rajik. Furnishing is generally dependent on the owner Rajik. Sometimes the owner has furnished the house and it is an extra effort for him to remove the furniture if someone wants it unfurnished. So they will give it at the same rent. Sometimes they may charge an additional 40-50 £ for it if they are a professional group having multiple homes for rent. You can search for furnished homes if you want it furnished. Also most homes will come with Fridge Freezer, Washing Machines, Stove, Oven as minimum. So what we are talking about is basically beds, cots , chairs and sofa. Alternatively people always give away furniture at throw away prices in online portals like gumtree. We gave away one of very good used cot and mattress once for like 10 £ for someone who was able to pick it up as we didn't have space for it when we moved a house once.

    Hello Anand Sir, exceptional video with amazing patience.👌👌👌have a question....My husband and myself are moving to Reading Berkshire, through his company in March..would like to know your opinion about the place, cost of living in Reading.

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +2

      Thanks Joshna. Reading is about 40 miles (60 km roughly) from London. It is like a satellite town for London . One of the most popular towns and most crowded towns after London . Cost of living is a little bit cheaper from rent perspective compared to London. But nearer to the Reading station and shops may be a little higher. From Reading station to London there are fast trains that reach London in less than 28 minutes even though it is that far away. Sometimes even if you live in London outer zones it may take 45 mins to an hour to go to central London. So that way lot of people live there not just working near Reading even working in London. Good schools. There is a huge mall called Oracle and excellent road connections just off the Motorway. Heavily populated. Lot of Asians and Indians live there as well. You get most Indian groceries there. Hope this helps.

      Thanks Mary. It depends on the company. Some Indian companies provide for the first few days and then ask you to search your own accommodation in that period. Some people if they come for a short term like 2-3 months then company provide accommodation or reimburse accommodation costs . But if you come on long term like 1 year generally they don’t provide for the entire duration .

      Mary, Generally for long term they don't provide accommodation in London. I know in some countries some companies provide even for long term. When I was working in Singapore my company had provided accommodation for more than a year. But most Indian companies in London I have seen do not provide long term accommodation. Also it is an advantage for you to be based where you want to be. For example if you have any friends or relatives you can be nearer to them.

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +1

      Kavitha generally it is not compulsory. Especially when kids are under 10 there are no issues. Also if the kids are both boys or both girls , even then any age there is no issue. Above 10 years 2 kids of different gender boy and girl sharing the same room is considered overcrowded by law. But if you are renting privately there is not much the rule or law can do even in that context. That is more for people who get free housing from council and will be council responsibility to give them bigger house.

    Anna how they decided the council tax... Weather the council tax depends upon the areas, or peoples in the home, or depends on children, or depends on flats r homes... Because its very very different for everybody... So kindly tell me.... You told the video, council tax for cleaning activity and school.... Kindly clarify me.... We r in the ilford... Planning to change home..... That's y I asking...

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +1

      Each house is categorised into a band depending on the property value based on govt valuation. It is like A,B,C,D,E etc. A is like less than 40,000£ and so on. And then there is a yearly decision on one council tax amount for each band. And then if there is only one adult in the house then you can get a 25% discount on it

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому

      Aathira Mani, Manchester is one of the biggest cities in England after London. It is in the Northern part of England. Almost near Scotland. About 200 miles (300 km) from London . Will be more colder than London a little bit as it's in the north. Cost of living will be lesser than London but still it's a big city and will be comparatively higher than the smaller cities away from London. (Ahmedabad in India was once called the Manchester of India because of the Textile industry that Manchester was famous for long back similar to Ahemedabad)

    • @AnandChennai

      Aravind - Depends on which field he wants to work. A lot of Chartered Accountants come into IT to work in related IT Functions like ERP - Oracle Financials , SAP. And then they will get salaries like an IT Consultant - 50,000 £ to start with I would say and can increase to 60-70,000 £ after a few years. If working in non-IT sector, in UK I think you need more certification to practice as a chartered accountant and you could earn more money once you setup your own accounting practice. Otherwise it may be lesser in the starting stages.

    i have one doubt
    what is fees for joining a gym and cricket academy in london

    • @AnandChennai
      @AnandChennai  5 років тому +1

      Deepak, gym fees varies depending on the location , facilities and also different schemes. For e.g. the Leisure centres which generally have a swimming pool and gym give you a combined membership of about 30-40 £ per month. In some areas private gyms cost as much just for the gym. There are some no frills gym chains that can offer special discounted rates at 15 £ per month too. Cricket academy again depends on age of the person and frequency of coaching needed.
