Loved your comment about how shelftember doesn’t really work with how you plan/shop. I was the same way. I decided to stop worrying about the budget, and instead I just tried to make a rule to not use any of the new things I bought for the month (minus produce/dairy). I made great progress through some older items, so it felt like a huge win!
Just for reference...I live alone and I'm on disability, which qualifies me for SNAP benefits (aka food stamps). I have been getting $173/mo, starting this month it went up to a whopping $190/mo. I have to utilize food banks to supplement my food. I miss the days when I could buy what I was "in the mood" for.
@FrugalLifeThriftyWife yes, DollarTree and Family dollars and 10+ different grocery stores within 10-15 miles. I live in an expensive area though, it's tough to make $$ stretch
with these grocery prices I think you did well to keep it under 400.00. Were an older coupe and I can spend what I want but I really try to keep my monthly groceries under $400,00 I find it fun to do this if I can too.
Happy Sunday Friends!
Did you do Shelftember during September? If so, how much money did you save during the month?

@@dsegobiano87 that’s awesome that you got through some of your older stuff. I did that too last month and it worked out great 😊
You do shelftober every month! You are so frugal great job!
Hahaha good point. Thanks Mandie! 😊
Well, that’s another month under budget, and you have got a lot that you won’t consume until later. That should help you in the next few months!
I definitely hope so! Hope you have a great day Marji ❤️

Wow that is definitely a tight budget! Do you have any discount grocery stores in your area?
