- This video for Asphalt Ostrich was shot in a wind tunnel just outside of London in spring of 1998, in support of the Lifeboat LP-CD, released by Sony records. The video was directed by Ben Unwin and produced by Rebecca Whitney. This did make rotation on MTV and VIVA (the main video channel in Germany at the time), I think it got 22 spins a week. There were 2 versions of this video, a Director's Cut and a Record Company Cut. This is the Director's Cut. The Record Company cut has a few more scenes of Al in it, it's the version that aired on MTV and VIVA. I can't seem to find this version, if anyone taped it off VIVA or MTV back in 1998 and has it stored somewhere, please let me know. Anyways... Al and I worked with Ben Unwin on the treatment for this video, and then we shot it in a single day starting at 6:00am. You can't tell, but temperatures in this tunnel were below zero. Running around in T-shirts for the better part of a day, it's no wonder that Al and I got really sick--- right in time for a European tour that started less than 24 hours after this video was shot.
Lyrics: Shane Cooper
Music: Herv Meyszner
Line-up at the time: Shane and Al (vocals), Herv (guitar & electronics), Rog (guitar), Otto (bass), Matthias (drums)
I miss you guys.
All your records are so great, I have them all.
Love this song.
2023 September and still rocking this J
I miss listening to this song, on repeat. 414 Mathews Street Love!!
WTF. Realized that its now over 25 Years since you Guys released that Song. Still have the Promo VHS, that Shane or Al gave me back then.
Great song and video, brings back a lot of memories. I have the Record Company cut on the VHS (I clearly remember that LOOK AT US / WHAT HAVE WE BECOME? shot being twice as long as in this video, so it must be a different cut), but my VHS->PC grabbing setup is long gone...
happy new year shane and allen .
woah.....thanks for this
i love this song...since 1998
@theoriginalheadcrash Hi, it was actually recorded off Czech Television. I might be able to obtain a copy from their archive if you are still looking for it.
Love!
wow cool. Didn´t know that there´s a video for this song.
And i´m waiting for another aaaalbuuum ...
Time for this band to make a comback I reckon!
I'm here because of Evanescence!
HEADCRASH is Awesome !!
Habe den Film "Nachtgestalten" von Andreas Dresen gesehen und dieses Lied gehört. Danke. Ab 56:30 min:)
i already have "Cranium". I was really excited when i read that there´s something new. The CD is very cool.
Evanescence has sampled it ... cool
oh oh oh my god! its true, that little loop was one of my very sound-- obssession since 15 years ago, and is a sampler of this song!!
@@Dadevid. if Im not wrong the song it's called Even in death by them
@@icarosampaio6445 The song is called "Eternal". That song you said "Even in Death" also has a sampler loop from a song of a band called White Zombie. Both songs are from their demo Origin, in 2000
I ve also heard that sample in a song from around 2000 2001 from some nu metal band from USA, does anybody know that name?
@@Romanhalik3 sorry, one year later... but no, this sample you mean? i don't know
