  • As winter approaches I start thinking of soups. Homemade chicken soup is one of my favorites. I make my own chicken stock, but you can use the broth sold in the stores. Chicken soup is easy to make. It is delicious and satisfying, perfect for a cold winter day.

That looks delicious and easy. I really need to invest in some of those one cup containers for my broth, what a great idea.

+FitAnge S I love this soup. This week I put about 40 cups of stock in the freezer for more soup. It should be an excellent winter. Thanks for the comment.-Dennis

"if you don't have a pasta machine, you'll get one eventually" yes, yes you will, and I still 'blame' you :)
Home made pasta is so easy and far superior to commercial versions.
Can't believe I've never heard of benfalli - time to get the pasta machine out. Thanks for sharing.

+jakematic Welcome to my addiction. I have several pasta books, including a pasta encyclopedia that is an English translation from the Italian. Only one book, the one I showed in the video, explains benfatti. Google finds one "stock" image.-Dennis

I save the bones and skin from roast chickens/baked chicken parts, and freeze them until I have enough to make a pot of broth/stock. Usually there is meat on the bones, too....I don't make my own pasta, any more...since my pasta roller disappeared long ago. I love this video, since I rely on homemade chicken soup (with matzo balls, anyone?) in the winter months....should I catch a dreaded cold...Thumbs Up for the video.
Too, in Cold & Flu Season...add some lemon (or lime) juice to your broth/soup...gives a nice kick and extra Vitamin C.

Dennis, how much weight have you lost? I went from 2013 video of yours to this one, and the difference was significant

+Kato Khaelan In the past 18 months I lost 65 pounds. I'd like to lose another ten and then hold it there for a while and see how I feel. Thanks for noticing and thanks for the comment. It's always encouraging when someone notices.-Dennis
