- This song has been requested many times, I was intimidated by this song for some time, it's not an easy song to play on an acoustic instrument, I hope I did it justice.

Good one
Finally
UA-cam hasn't discovered this life hack of recommending all people interstellar covers, all the time, pop-ups, notifications, new releases, public performance, weird instruments, watch them again...no time for caution. Recklessly drown me in interatellar.
Imagine coming after a year to revisit this masterpiece only to see that this legend of an artist died.
This cover is gonna hit different now

He doesn’t even look at his instrument, he just feels the music and goes along
Nah, it's called muscle memory.
no oud player of honour looks at the strings while playing. one of the first things you learn. please never do that. practice infront of a mirror if neccesary
@@schubutz No one cares if you play with or without looking at your strings
@@fale.cedille i like how op's comment disproved your opinion
@@schubutz why is that so? for guitar and bass guitar, you start by looking at your hand and then you get to the point where muscle memory does all the work. what is the point of starting without looking at your fingers? you'll get there eventually

I was on Spotify, listening to your music, and I started to wonder why you didn't upload anymore. I went on Google and it was written in big letters "Ahmed Alshaiba died at 32". Rest in peace, you the one that opened my mind to arabic music...
Same here, I just knew about it yesterday, I used to listen to his music all the time 10 years ago back when I was in highschool, and listened to his music 4 years straight after that. yesterday I was absent-minded remembering stuff and just came to my mind that I used to listen to an oud musician back then. after couple of tries I remembered his name. I was happy that I found him and shocked that he passed away. His music made a lot of my memories, Rip.
I heard his first music 2 months ago. It really amazed me, so I rushed to search for him on Facebook. I was shocked by his death. I said to myself, if he were alive, it would be a great thing, but it is God’s will. I wish peace for his soul. He is a musician in the truest sense of the word.

One of the most impressive eastern covers I have ever seen in my life
As a kid, I always loved to go to Encarta and either browse to the Ancient History, then to Arts and Music. I was always amazed with ancient art and their mesmerizing music. Hearing this cover by an Oud instrument brings me back to my childhood when I was still so curious about the old age, their music, and wonder how such beauty was made in their time and why not so many people could appreciate it.

This is probably the best cover of this song I've ever heard
My eyes are in tears as I'm writting you this THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. That song is so powerful because it's so meaningful. Hans Zimmer composed it trying to express what it fells like for a father and his child when the father tells him that he must leave knowing that he won't probably come back but promises him "I'll be back" and the child asks just "when?". That "when?" asked by a child to his leaving father is so "simple" yet so powerful and meaningful. And that's exactly what you did in this version. Starting with just one element each time, like little "when?"s that join each other in harmony until you hear just that one raw and simple "when?" played by the combination of all the elements. So thank you again for this precious gift you just created. Greetings from Spain.
my eyes are in tears reading your comment
me also lik song very mooch as it make the time big
I recommend you a video of Jaime Altozano talking about that composing method, it is called "wall of sound", he is also Spanish so I think you will like him.
Now considering the theme of the song and the instruments used, I can't help but Imagine in some fantasy world a Father having to leave his child to go off war or adventure to fight some grand evil with the only thing keeping him going is the thought of making a world worth living in for his child
I bet you are in tears pussy boy

RIP Brother, this is so sad and beautiful at the same time. You'll be forever remembered.
This Hans Zimmer piece is already phenomenal in stirring complex multi-layered emotions of despair, hope, determination, fatefulness, altruism, acceptance and an inevitable struggle and great loss...it's extraordinary in every sense of the word....The Oud and your heartfelt playing of it, yet adds a subtlety to the cocktail, dont know what it is, it's one of mystery and eternal peace

Just learned about his passing away. Among all the recent deaths I had heard of, his hits closest. What an unfortunate way to go. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. And, here, I was naively wondering why he hadn't released a new song for 2 months. Never had the honor to meet him, never expected to. But, if I had the chance, I'd have so many compliments to give him, so many appraisels to shower him with. May he rest in peace, may Allah grant him Heaven in the afterlife for all the good deeds he has done, for all the souls he had touched with his music and passion. What a great man he was!

I think there's something very specific that makes this work perfectly: Hans Zimmer talked about choosing the cathedral organ because it gave a sense of religiosity to the music, that "holiness" if you will. The oud brings so much of that same holiness to the piece, but instead of that Catholic holiness, it brings a different flavour of holiness but holiness nonetheless. The piece doesn't feel diminished in any of its sense of awe and wonder in any way, and still feels like you're in the presence of a higher power - which I like to believe is also what Zimmer himself was trying to achieve.
you will never understand the grief of the middle eastern instruments
