We might aswell pull out of Eurovision it’s bloody annoying cause we’re one of the 5 countries that puts in money for it and yet everyone hates on us it’s like okay byeee
This really should've finished top ten, Lucie tried so hard and deserved a top ten finish, but for once I don't feel embarrassed by my country's eurovision entry. Well done Lucie, the whole country is very proud of you
I mean coming from the UK, coming 15th with 111 points is a great result for us! Our best since 2011, but giving how hard Lucie herself has worked for this and how she listened to everyone when they said it needed a bit of a revamp, how much time and thought went into her staging etc, for her sake, I think it did deserve a top 10 place but she did us proud and I'm far from embarrassed for once!
That was exactly the problem....the revamp. This song won the national competition for its simplicity and powerful raw emotion and was one of the favorites. No LED backgrounds..no dancers..just Lucie performing to the audience. Then everybody started giving their opinions...adding drum beats..changing the tempo of the song..distracting the audience with over the top staging, ..explosions...mirrors..fireworks..so you ended up with this cold and over-choreographed mess, overstuffed with lyrics and strategically placed high notes and fake lisps. Next time, just respect the artist and the composer...go see Lucie's national performance or the Portuguese winning song, as an example. This could have been top ten..but it ended up just not having any soul left..the original was so beautiful, but it got lost somehow..imao.
I mean in my opinion, this has more than the national final because in the selection process, it felt a bit boring and I believe we would have had a worse result with it and by having a bit more behind the song, compared with the staging, created a beautiful performance and I think it keeps its soul and emotion because Lucie connects to it so well
15th is still our best placing since 2011 tho....and also that is the old voting system, its no longer used so it was our best result since 2011 because no one uses the old system anymore...and with this new way, we are doing better, I mean, even with the old system we still would have come 19th
Honestly it should have received more points I do think Brexit could have affected the result and her facial expressions didn't help! I think Europe hates the UK for leaving the EU!
UK placed in the Top 10 of jury votes that year. Spectacular staging and creative concept 👌 it got low televotes due to ppl wanting UK to send a bigger name. Still a good job 👏🏽
The staging was just forgettable. This song should've been kept more intimate. Rather than have the background light up three times on the chorus and call it a day.
One of the most powerful performances in Eurovision ever! She manages to create a feeling like she is talking to me personally when she sings those lyrics out. Incredible acting and delivery! Still makes me cry every single time I come back here.
Argalexovejo Lindita can. But I don't care for the vocal quality's (as long it's not totally off-key), I care for the emotion and soul in the song. This one had that totally.
Plus she does have a beautiful voice. No notes like Lindita's, but (again own personal opinion) a more special, unique and nice singing voice which fits perfectly for the song.
How the hell did THIS end up so low? A basic case of "UK at Eurovision". On one point...i do understand why they want to leave this contest. This is quality by miles! It had staging, her voice is amazing. Its packed with emotions and i sincerely had tears in my eyes...amazing
Unfortunately, both UK and Spain are always treated like this in ESC...and I don't know why... I think, as a Spanish, that we must leave the show.. the same for UK.. Europe don't want us to be in....
Fans always say it's a strong year, but it's not true this time. 2017 had a strong top 6 and almost everyone else was meh. I mean, freaking "Yodel It" came 7th, for god's sake. Lucie should've come top 10 easily, along with NaviBand and maybe Dihaj.
I know. It's a brilliant song and everybody seems to love her. But apparently some Swedes on a treadmill, an Italian dancing gorilla and a Bulgarian child were better than this so go figure.
Mads D This works both ways.... this is someone’s opinion just like you have the right to your own opinion. Don’t call someone arrogant for saying their opinion, obviously people from Britain are going to think their country is best and deserve to win because that’s the way things go🤷🏽♂️ also to be fair you obviously like it enough to be here😂
As a swede I feel like she was much more deserving of a top 5 placement than my country. She is singing with such emotion and power that Robin could only dream of. However, I bet that if the UK continues sending songs of this quality, Europe will eventually reward you. Looking forward to see the UK entry of 2018! 🇸🇪❤️🇬🇧

@@galafox471 but 2021 was a very strong year, don’t you think? So many great performances. Spain, The UK and so many other great acts seem to have gotten lost in all of it. I never used to think Europe hated the UK in this contest, but I believe it now. This was one of the stand-out performances of the entire evening, her voice and stage presence are incredible.
UK should be very proud with the decision and choice in form of Lucie. I have been watching Euro since 2013 and this is your best performance so far. I expected Lucie to be placed in top 5...
My father had been ill, mental degeneration slowly settling in. His personality had changed - so bitter, so confused, so frustrated. He needed also constant physical care. The last years being very, very hard for my mother. It would have been so easy for her to send him to a residence and let him die there. But she could not. One year ago I visited them in Spain. I presented them my "list of favorite songs of Eurovision" (it's public, here). This one was one of them. We were all three together. Mother started to cry, she would not stop. She wept and wept and we had to make a pause. Then she embraced me and whispered to my ear, so that he could not hear it: "It's just... that one's about me, you see? It's about him and me...". He died one month ago. She never gave up on him.
Normally a Eurovision Ballad has a moment where it gives you goosebumps. The whole song WAS the moment. As soon as she opens her mouth I get goosebumps
By far the most TALENTED performance we’ve seen in years. Technique and delivery is really a master class here. Just incredible. I don’t care about votes etc I just think Lucie needs to know how PHENOMENAL her performance was. Eurovision will always be Eurovision, not exactly the barometer for talent....

It has great lyrics, performance is excellent and the most important thing is that you can feel something while listening. I'm not sure if this was the best song that year, but it sure is one that I listen to the most.
My partner sent this to me saying that this is what they are when they’re with me, I’ve never felt more loved. I’m so thankful I have them on my journey to being myself (which I’m struggling with at the moment). This has restored my faith in myself and in my partner, I’m so happy I’m not going through my struggles alone. Everyone send my partner (let’s call them K) love through replying to my comment, they really deserve it ♥️♥️
To me, this is a perfect example of how, sometimes, no matter how well that you do, no matter how flawless your performance, when your result is dependent on the opinions of others, that you can still not get the result you deserve.
Amazing song! Every now and then I listen to it, as well as Katy B's entry years ago. It should have been #1 song for many years, not just 2017! I will never give up! Cheers from The Netherlands.
This is honestly the most amazing performance I have EVER seen in the Eurovision! I am 27 years old and I've watched the competition every year my whole life! I WISH SHE WOULD HAVE WON
I am a spanish person and for me Lucie Jones was the number one. I still come back to watch it from time to time because it was an amazing performance, amazing song, and amazing staging. GOOD JOB LUCIE!
Doesn’t matter what anyone says she should’ve won. Amazing vocals, simple yet elegant staging. Most memorable of that year and I still listen to this song
How this didn’t finish higher is beyond me. Incredible live performance with perfect vocals and emotive passion. Cmon Europe...vote for the music...and Australia 😁

I'm not sure if this was the best song that year, but it sure is one that I listen to the most.
Well put.
Really funny that we have won Eurovision 5 times and have produced some of the best music in the world from The Beatles to The Rolling Stone
Everyone send my partner (let’s call them K) love through replying to my comment, they really deserve it ♥️♥️
After years I still love this song and enjoy this perfect performance. She should have won
"I'm right beside you, you're never alone" the way she sang that part was just so so so soulful❤ Congrats Lucie! Still here 4.5 years later 💯
For me this the best ever live performance form a uk entrant.
The real winner. And the best staging by a mile.
To me, this is a perfect example of how, sometimes, no matter how well that you do, no matter how flawless your performance, when your result is dependent on the opinions of others, that you can still not get the result you deserve.
The UK was so underrated. It was my absolute favorite. Poor Lucie. :(
Why does it never get any points, even if their song is absolutely stunning?
Best entry ever from UK 💞
One of my favorite songs in Eurovision history! LOVE IT.... i still listen to it.... It's just.....Amazing
so underrated i love you lucie great voice
2 years later and I still get goosebumps when listening tp this song. One of the best vocals that year.
Amazing song! Every now and then I listen to it, as well as Katy B's entry years ago. It should have been #1 song for many years, not just 2017! I will never give up! Cheers from The Netherlands.
Well, she knocked it out the park, regardless of the result! Best staging of the night too! Proud to be British 👍🏻
I'm from the UK and this is the first time I've been proud of our entry. SO PROUD of you Lucy! Douze points!
The best performance on the final👏🏻 kisses from Spain🇪🇸
I voted for her! She should have won. Love from Germany! 😘
This was the best Song for the year 2017. .I really wanted this as the winning song.
Doesn’t matter what anyone says she should’ve won. Amazing vocals, simple yet elegant staging. Most memorable of that year and I still listen to this song
Congratulations for getting your best result in 5 years, but you deserved even more!!
LUCIE, WE LOVE YOU!! Best of luck in your career!!
How this didn’t finish higher is beyond me. Incredible live performance with perfect vocals and emotive passion. Cmon Europe...vote for the music...and Australia 😁
Being 15th is respected, She gave it her all. And honestly she do it very well.
'you're not defeated, you're in repair' 💘
I wouldn’t mind if it had won. So underrated.
