Beckett saying it’s for people that like the Blade 98 and Speed Pro is the most accurate summary of the frame. Like these frames it has a low launch angle, it is incredibly stable from the base line when rallying but has great accuracy and touch at the net. It is not a racquet you can be ‘wristy’ with so some approach shots are a bit limited but other than that it’s a solid stick. I threw a few grams in the handle on my frame to get it slightly more headlight and used Hyper-G soft at 48lbs, next restring will be either with PTP or Caviar
I got the Percept 100 recently and have been having an absolute blast. Love the paint job too, easily the best looking racket on the market imo. I added a leather grip and 2 grams to 10 and 2 and have been liking that setup lately. How different would you say are the Percept 100 and 100d? Would you recommend some of the same 100d modifications for the 100? Great vid!
Yeah I’d do the same thing. I haven’t hit them back to back but a few weeks in between and they feel quite similar. Probably need a little handle weight on the 100 to match the balance but that’s it
@@TennCom Launch angle on the regular 100 is a little higher and spin potential is slightly higher. Poly Tour Rev ticks all the boxes for the string that you're looking for. Shaped poly, somewhat crisp, stiffer than Poly Tour Pro, bites the ball and gives good spin, good tension maintenance. I string my 100D with Rev 125 @ 48lbs and it's just perfect for me, like an extension of my arm. Pretty glowing review, and I agree that "spin modulation" is more important than max spin. Would personally love to see you try the Strike 16x20 and compare to the 100D. I thought it was interesting both Babolat and Yonex introduced a mixed string pattern, 305g version of their control 100 frames at the same time.

Also one of my recent favourites, it feels a little too soft so you can get lost in the sting bed untill you spread the lead on 2, 4, 5, 7,8,10 and less than a gram on the tip with 330sw and 339 static weigh. Nothing on the handle though as it stops pocketing. Confidential full bed 53/51 perfect set for, stiff and crisp yet comfortable and lasts forever with 18/19 string pattern. Incredible feel on this stick, vcore or ezone feels like a beach bat after hitting with this for a few hours...

This is a racquet that's on my radar. I started playing again, and it's been a process. I'm using the Dunlop sx 300 tour and CX 200 LS (weighted up to 11.4oz with a 320 swingweight) both 98sq. I naturally hit with a lot of topspin and prefer the maneuverability of smaller headsize racquets. However, I'm confident the vcore 95 is beyond my skill level. I'm leaning towards getting a 100sq racquet but the Ezone 100 was just a tad too stiff for not having the control I wanted (if I can't get the control, I'll just take the extra rpm and pop from my SX 300 tour).
I have been using this stick for about a 2 or 3 weeks now. Great stick but you have to go with the correct string. I have TechFibs NRG2 and I was wearing the strings out by hit number 6. For a 1HBH, I had to put some lead at 3 and 9 and she is stable as hell. I am moving away from the Pure Aero 98 as well.
Nice video. Another bad is the paint. Colour is subjective however the light green and texture makes it so easy to look grubby and dirty quickly. Stock with leather grip and low tension works really well
Playing 100D with a few grams on 3+19+12 and I do feel like I need Karue's K-POP at 58-60lbs....and man does 100D feel beastly when the stringbed is crisp and you can just lean in and rip the ball with effortless precision - it just stays in all day. Then the tension drops, stringbed opens up, balls maybe get a little bald and I find myself having to go more and more under the ball to keep it in, more and more aprehensive about driving through the ball... this wouldn't be a problem for Karue who probably always plays a fresh stringjob, but I think I'll be trying something a little thicker in 1.30 guage to keep the ball in control for something like 20 hours of play.

@TennCom I feel like it adds more pop and more penetration/power. Maybe it's just me. I tried that combination in the regular 100 and has too much power. I rather use caviar in the cross in that case. Like you said lots of times. Each person has their preferences. Thank you for your reviews!!!
How would you compare this to the Blade 100 V8 or V9 in regards of control and Spin? And 2nd question, if there is time to answer :), do you have any String recommendations for the 100 Blades?
I have only hit the v9 Blade 100 and annoyingly it was a Sensation hybrid so I can't get to nuanced. I thought the Percept pocketed more and offered more easy spin whereas the Blade was more of a medium flat ball racquet. That could definitely be due to the strings, but the swing-feel felt quite neutral. Overall, the Blade 100 did not wow me in any way, good or bad, it was just a racquet. Were I do string one up for my own review I think I would start with Grapplesnake Tour Mako to increase the pocketing and court penetration.
Can you please tell me what you think of Restring Zero for percept 100D? Suitable / Any good? If yes What Tension would be nice? Thank you very muchh 🙏
How would you compare the 100 to the 100D? Seems like a lot of people like one but not the other. Big fan of the 100D here but was looking for a bit more power.
I don’t think they are that different. I haven’t tried them back to back but hit them within a month of each other. Stock, i got more RHS with the 100 I think, but I’m not sure the spin was necessarily better, though possibly because it had PTP.
I've used the Vcore 98 before and the Vcore 100 is very forgiving while still having enough control for me. I like slapping backhands down the line but I'm not the most control oriented player to be fair. It's good with polytour pro or polytour rev.
It’s close. I could go with either tbh but I think I’d lean whiteout. My WO still swings a bit faster and the resulting ball is actually pretty similar. Plus there’s like no way I can replicate the points play from this video in a match.
Yeah I think Sniper still gets pretty close in feel while fixing the durability and spin issues with ALU. Still nothing feels quite the same. RPM Power or Paradox Pro are fun hits as well if you like ALU but they are also weird in their own ways.
@@TennCom Nice. I jsut got my hands on a 100D and it came strung with Alu Power 1.20 @52. Great hit but strings move on every shot! Is the string dead? or is this the string?
This sounds stupid but: PA98 for people who play more like Alcaraz and Rafa for those who play more like Rafa. It’s dumb but I really think each racquet perfectly matches the player.
@@TennCom Oh, brilliant! So you just wake up and decide if you're Alcaraz or Rafa, easy! Now I’m waiting for the racquet for players like me, who are just trying to improve and have their own identity on the court. But since my question was about technical details and playing style, maybe you could enlighten me with something useful… or let us hope for an answer that’s not just tossed in for laughs.
Not unless you like to add weight to 3 and 9 to the 95/7. Better to go thinner to save weight in the head imo. Increasing tension by 3-5lbs should do enough to regain the precision.
@@TennCom gotcha. when i go from 16 x 19 to 18 x 20 (currently using 18 x 20 95s and 97s) i need to go from 15g to 17g, so wouldn't be sure what to go with here
Way more forgiving, easier to swing, more power and spin. Less solid feel and less control but I don't think the loss in control is realistically important.
Hey Beckett. Great Video. I can‘t do even more than agree at 100%. I play the 100D since October last year now and I‘m still not found the correct string setup. It‘s really a string sensitive frame. I’ve tried meanwhile min. 50different string setups including hybrids, without the final 100% happiness. I've used the Vcore 98 before and the Vcore 100 is very forgiving while still having enough control for me. I like slapping backhands down the line but I'm not the most control oriented player to be fair. It's good with polytour pro or polytour rev.
@@rbarreira2I also like my 98 with crisper strings like ptp. Good call
Yeah I would. Bigger sweetspot and more stable off centre.
Why do you videos seem to cut off before they're supposed to end?
I play with the ezone 98 how would this racquet help me out?
Maybe if you are having comfort issues but the EZ98 is a nice frame as it is
Would you go into a match with the WO or 100D?
It’s close. I could go with either tbh but I think I’d lean whiteout. My WO still swings a bit faster and the resulting ball is actually pretty similar. Plus there’s like no way I can replicate the points play from this video in a match.
Quick question. What string is the most similar to Alu-Power, but better overall? Is it still Grapplesnake Tour Sniper?
Yeah I think Sniper still gets pretty close in feel while fixing the durability and spin issues with ALU. Still nothing feels quite the same. RPM Power or Paradox Pro are fun hits as well if you like ALU but they are also weird in their own ways.
@@TennCom Thanks.
What's the purple green dampener you got on?
Kimony
welcome to the kimony gang finally
How would gut/poly hybrid work in it?
Found it very sluggish on my one handed backhand, now back to the Ezone
Are you using ezone 100 or 98?
98
Which Toroline caviar fr your setup? 16L, 17 or 18
16L
Did you try the O-TORO in this frame?
No I didn’t think the feel would be connected enough since I didn’t like Toro Toro. Caviar is all I could ever want tbh
We mean O-Toro.. How bout O-Toro full bed in 100d or even 97d? thx..
p.s : im currently use head lynx tour with 46lbs in my 97d
How would you compare it to Gravity Pro?
Better in every way except raw control
Has this got better control than the Ezone 98 for flat hitting?
Yeah defs
@@TennCom Nice. I jsut got my hands on a 100D and it came strung with Alu Power 1.20 @52. Great hit but strings move on every shot! Is the string dead? or is this the string?
@@kubivasak String is dead. That's typical of ALU Power after relatively little use.
@@TennCom Thought so. Thanks for confirming!
Beckett, how does it compare to the Ezone 98?
I’d say the 100D is better for almost everyone unless you hit a lot of spin with big wrist action at a high level (4.5+)
@@TennCom Thanks. Looking at the specs, both have the same weight, balance and swingweight. Is the 100D faster through the air because of the beam?
The differences between AO 98 and Rafa 290? For which playstyle do you recommend one or the other?
This sounds stupid but: PA98 for people who play more like Alcaraz and Rafa for those who play more like Rafa. It’s dumb but I really think each racquet perfectly matches the player.
@@TennCom
Oh, brilliant!
@@alessandropinto9445 Unfortunately you’ve been too much of an asshole for me to want to help you.
Would you go thicker strings if coming from a 97 or 95
Not unless you like to add weight to 3 and 9 to the 95/7. Better to go thinner to save weight in the head imo. Increasing tension by 3-5lbs should do enough to regain the precision.
@@TennCom gotcha. when i go from 16 x 19 to 18 x 20 (currently using 18 x 20 95s and 97s) i need to go from 15g to 17g, so wouldn't be sure what to go with here
You do such a good job when you dont do the blatant advertising ! Bravo!
how does this compare to the gravity pro
Way more forgiving, easier to swing, more power and spin. Less solid feel and less control but I don't think the loss in control is realistically important.
quite the abrupt ending to the video haha
That seems to be his trademark.
I tried it was too mushy for me. Maybe should have tried higher tension but just not for me!
Recently I used the Confidential 1.20mm @ 24.1kg with success, but as it is quite tight, it was lacking feel and pocketing. So will try your proposal even it is difficult to get Toroline strings in Europe. But maybe that’s what I am looking for. Alpha and pure rush weren’t that good imo. Maybe you have another idea? Most interesting is, that I customized mine nearly to same specs you did. 335gr/334SW/32.4mm balance. IMO this frame needs that and then it plays awesome.
did you add 4 grams at 12 o'clock?
I think I'll have to try that too
@@WorldWideSpotter-p4s mine came a bit over spec in terms of sw it was like 2.8-3.4 grams. But also bit in the cap and throat or 7“ mark to adjust recoil and MGRI

The throat cracking reports are worrying.
True but karue is stringing it above the recommended range
@@The4.0Guygood point tbh
@@TennCom based on your videos i've never seen you hit such big shots as with this 100D, looks to me like this should be your stick!
@@The4.0Guy I’ve read reports from some other guys on TT. But no proofs, no statistics. I just cannot recall any other frame reported with cracks like this one.
@@Anton.Arkhipov i think this racquet has a stiff hoop connected to a more flexible throat so maybe that is why there is stress there, just guessing. In Karue's case stringing it above recommended tension then playing professional tennis all day is definitrly a scenario that might create.some.stress fractures!
If beckett does not approve of my racket i will throw it away.
Yeah no one should be stringing this like Karue LOL 😅
leaving in Luca complaining huh? is that a declaration of war?
pew pew 🔫
Underpowered, platform racket to customize, too stiff. I changed with Head Gravity Tour 2023, more manuvrability, it's a controlled frame but with more spin
wait, racket and runners is not using a head gravity pro? what a phony
I’ve never seen him use that racquet in my life
He's said in several videos that he plays with a Head Boom.
@@TennCom 🤨
No no no. Vcore only. 😂😂😂
are you sponsored or paid by these string brands that nobody knows about and cannot buy easily? I just can’t relate because never tried these strings and it spoils the racquet review somewhat.
I am an affiliate partner with Toroline yes. My initial recommendation was to go with Yonex Polytour Pro and then I also recommended several other mainstream brands like Solinco. I am lucky that Toroline supplies the channel with strings as that makes these videos possible. I am sorry that small portion of the video spoiled the entire video for you.
still good channel. maybe give us a chart of what those new strings are equivalent to in terms of popular strings we know about. And I still want a tutorial on how to build you ikea racquet case
@@islandmerchandise3017 Good idea! Here's the a video where I cover how I built it: ua-cam.com/video/2CshNPKqz_A/v-deo.html
If they bring it out in a "Galaxy Black" (or any black) version I might give it a second look. First get rid of the muppet green, it's SO stupid, come on!!!!!
This is a nice frame. But it’s sacrilege to compare it to the almighty Gravity Pro. Repent!
Good point. It’s so much better than the GPro .
