"Was Madeline a friend? Joey: No, Madeline is kind of just a name that is just a metaphor for everybody, you know everybody’s Madeline because at the beginning it says,”there was a girl I used to know who cried herself to sleep every night, we all knew we all knew”, because we all knew that girl or that person, or that Madeline. "
How did this band not get big? I honestly love it so much and everytime someone asks me what's my favorite bands and I say this one as one of them none of them has ever heard of it..
lead singer is still making music (sorta) with a band called Talisker sky they haven't put anything out in a few years but they did write a song called away about their bassist johnny who died of an OD
@Dillon Ventola damn. I forgot about single file!! I went to school With these guys, although I wasn’t friends with them. My brother was. They were obviously big in our city. Denver’s 93.3 played them a lot. I think there was an issue with their label too, so they couldn’t continue with that band name (I may have that info wrong but I thought that’s why they didn’t continue after Johnny’s death. Great band. Great guys! This brought back lots of memories. 🥰
I wish all the people who are depressed and thinking about suicide could see this video. Then they would know how much they would be missed by those who love them. I wish I would've known my friend was so depressed that he thought he had no other way out. This is for you Nick. I miss you!
For me, it wasn't this song. I only just found this song actually. For me, it was Rise Above This by Seether. I'm a big fan of rock music and only started to really hear the lyrics when I was hitting a desperately low place. I'm on medicine now, by my own choice, and although I'm not feeling 100%, I'm content and just living by each day. I still listen to that song all the time.
Reminds me of the time I saw a girl jump off a bridge in my hometown when I was 17. A cold winter night in December just before the holidays. She hit the water and started to scream for help. I am a strong swimmer, but I know that river. In that freezing water I couldn't jump in or we both would have been gone. Hit the papers the next morning when I went to school. Rest in peace uknown woman who thought she had no other option.
My first boyfriend introduced me to this song years and years ago. now were broken up and he killed himself almost 2 months ago. still reminds me of him every time i hear it, and its heartbreaking.
Reach out for help. Always. There is literally always someone who will help you. People would rather “deal with” trying to help you than read about your death in the paper 💜
Recently..I lost a dear friend of mine...when this came up on Spotify I didn't think much of it until the verse "they found her body resting by the river" I couldn't focus on anything else besides every moment I spent with her.. i didn't know...no one did..it's hard even now to cope with her absence..rest in peace Liza... hopefully you are resting much easier than I am now.. you guys are amazing and deserve a lot more recognition than the so called "artists" nowadays..
My friend showed me this song 8 years ago. It was one of my favorite songs in middle school and always invoked emotion. Now I look back at 20 years old and wonder where the time has gone.
I had completely forgotten about this song until today. It came on and I cried. I lost a best friend to suicide a few months back. I love you Katie. You'll be forever missed never be forgotten.
I have not heard ONE band that sounds remotely like Tickle Me Pink. They have a style no other band has. They should've been more famous, they deserved it after all the shit they have gone through in the past, and willing to write about it all in one record is just as amazing. I wish they could have gotten more famous before they broke up, they sure as hell deserved it. Thumbs up if you agree.
I just can't believe I got to see this band show this song for only the second time in Tulsa. I feel so fortunate. It made me want to be so much more. I love them and want to hear so much more in the future. I hope they do so well in the future.
Brings back the old days back when I was depressed and suicidal. Sometimes I wish I could go back to those days. Back when school was easy, back when I didn't drink or smoke.
The greatest band that never was. I was living in Greeley, Colorado just as they were about to break big time. I remember seeing them in concert in Fort Collins with my friend Nicole, at the Aggie theater, I believe, and falling in love with their sound and energy. I remember listening to Madeline and thinking how many hits were on that one CD. There was something definitely different about them. This video popped up on my feed and made me nostalgic. So much of who I grew up to be was shaped by my time living in Colorado and I was fortunate enough to have had the chance to see these dudes live.
Madeline by Tickle me pink band is an amazing song. The vid to it is great. Tickle me pink rocked Madeline in my opinion one of the best songs ever created. Thanks. Peace. 🎵
My friend Kate told me about it because my name is Madeline and she just keeps saying how good the song is and how much meaning it has and we both just love it.
This band and Single File both appeared with great albums at the same time and disappeared at the same time. Both will be on my playlist til I die. And this song might be one of my favorite songs ever, not just by TMP
I was crying and thinking about putting an end to this existence. Then I let Spotify to play any song and then this came up, just coincidence or the right time?
My favorite song of one of my favorite Colorado bands. I wish this would get more play time since I think its a great song with deep personal lyrical meaning. Support your local bands (I am not a musician).
I was so in love with a girl by the name of Madeline. She had a lot of emotional problems, cutting all of it. I did everything I could to help her though it all. She attempted to OD once.. I thank everything that she made it though.. This song really strikes a chord with me. The scariest thing about it is, that her favorite color was tickle-me-pink. I hope you're okay today Madeline.
If you guys like TMP, Sean the vocalist has a new band with a bunch of great local musicians from here. They're called talisker skye, thumbs up so people see.
I got Madeline tattooed on my knuckles years ago because of this song as a commemoration to a friend passing. Didn't want to use her actual name and this just fit so well. Still has the same impact it did back then.
I played this at my friends funeral. She killed herself by a river with a knife to her neck. I was the last person she called. She said that her life was like this song, and that she and i were just like this; we smoked cigs at school...and played around. She did write a song, but i never answered her calls. I tried to stop her from doing it but at the end of the phone call she said "don't forget me".The next day she was on the news. weird thing is, her name was Madeline too. TRUE STORY! :'(
My name Madeline and I’m so suicidal and my mom doesn’t believe depression is real , she thinks it is all in your head. It is . But those voices are so powerful . I cannot seek help because she doesn’t let me . The voice keeps saying dying will make the pain go away . I know I’m much stronger than that I know ): . But for how much longer can I be ? This song makes me tear . I don’t want to die .. but when I’m having a breakdown , I have no control over myself .
Mama bear, music has a powerful tune that let's us relate from one -another and I can understand how this song can struck a strong cord in you soul . I believe you can keep on swimming! You'll be a name ull never forget, madeline. Reply or not you'll be remember 🌌 Please if you need to express your self on how you're feeling just message me . I'm a free-of-judgment-zone and just wnat the brightest best for ppl 🌌🫀🖤
every time i hear this song it brings me to tears. when i was in 8th grade i tried so many times to bring myself to the same fate the Madeline in this video came to. glad i'm here now, but this song will always remind me of those days
Growing up in the same town as this band, I can see why they wrote this. I knew the girl that Sean Kennedy (the singer) wrote this song about. I hung out with her in Old Town one time. And when she died it was probably one of the biggest tragedies in Fort Collins, Colorado.
You know, I bought this album the day it came out, and it's one of the few CD's that stayed in my car permanently. Insanely talented, and I'm sad they didn't make more music together.
I was lucky to see the final show they played as a band back in 2011ish at a sold out Summit Music Hall. To this day, still the best concert I have ever seen
this is my half sisters cousins' band. lead singer went to rehab and has had a really hard time since.. I hope they'd come back! they truely are a wonderful band. with a great heart. just things got hard when famousness hit them!
My brother passed away a little more than three weeks ago. He was my best friend. This song, hits the spot pretty hard. Mainly the scene when she is hidden behind the wall with her sleeve up. Kids: drugs are bad. Cutting is bad. If your depressed...PLEASE talk to someone.
I just randomly ran across this song after really liking The Time Is Wrong by them. It's so hard to describe how this song just became so memorable, watched it 5 times in a row and found something new each time. It's so sad and painful thinking back on how suicidal I was like 4 years back
Amazing song. It gives me the chills every time I listen to it. And now this vid? Oh gad. It made me tear up. This is the most beatiful thing TMP had ever made!
Wow. My mom hated when I played this growing up because she had a friend who was "unalived" behind the old wiffle ball factory by the woods. Now here I am at 30 and I don't think I can listen to this song anymore now that my best friend I've known for 20 years OD'd in a different area of woods and was found later by a hiker. For all I know his body could've been found by the river we used to smoke by. Good song but too close to home now..
this song hit so close to home it made me cry, so thanks for that! amazing song though, it actually felt good to have a song hit me in the feels like that. very powerful.

I bought this album when it first came out. I had no idea how good it would be
So Ruthlez same here I saw them here in hattiesburg ms somewhere between 05-07 and I bought the album. WAY better than expected
When you realize that Madeleine has two meanings its both a name and also translates; one that evokes memories. Your welcome.

Lost someone I really cared about to heroine. Funny, lead singer performs like him and kinda sounds like him.
Rip. Tyson Stevens
the lead singer wasnt copying your friend, your friend performs and sounds like the lead singer you meant
Mass Killer you completely missed the point of his comment...
Mass_Killer_SJM ew. fuck you dude
This is one of those bands you found in highschool and no one else cared but you. Glad i still have their albums
is there a cure for an addiction to madeline? cause i cant get enough of this song.

It's such a creative video, I love how it's retells the story of her death, and the mural of her at the end is amazing. Really, really creative.
Still singing my heart out to this in 2019

this song is so powerful, it gives me chills
love this song, can't get enough
that happened to some one at my school but under a bridge so sad
Me too I love colorado. I also love rock and metal music.
Thank you for being the few people in the U.S.A. who knows how to pronounce the name "Madeline" correctly! I before E, except after C. English 101.

This song is amazing......

Joey barba gave me lessons. I thank him for that.
Read Looking For Alaska by John Green, and then listen to this.
i just recently found this song looking for one with my name as the title and reading these comments is making me bawl
One of the saddest songs ever
@BonezIsDead i hope she is as well but you are a good person for caring about her you were a bright point in her life even if she did not answer it was most likely so that you would continue to ask so thatshe knew at least one person cared enough to. *hug*
I hope they come back someday
Love this song :)
Ayo anyone used to cry to this song at the ripe age of 12???
