Just an added tip. The guys that explode, you can just let them pass before Gravel deals the deathblow, so they can explode upon exiting the stairs on top.
Operator Replacement Suggestions (ORS): Gavial/Hibiscus: Any Medic. Orchid: Any Slow Supporter. Kroos: Any Sniper (low DP ideal). Gravel: Recommended due to S2. Eyjafjalla: Essential for this layout. Skill 3, level 7. Shirayuki: Recommended to deal extra Arts damage vs Mudrock. Mousse: Astesia. Regular Defender is fine if Arts damage is sufficient. Midnight: Lappland/Silverash. Use LL or SA if lacking Arts damage to finish Mudrock. Fang/Vanilla: Any Vanguard (2 block + high trust). Myrtle for higher cost teams. Vanguard equivalent to Fang's stats to "tank" Mudrock.
@@Hyosen You can also replace the goat with Amiya S3, although that probably rises the requirement for the heal tank on the top lane - needs to survive and stall enemies long enough for Amiya to come back online. I used Saria E2 S1L5.

Even with high-rarity operators, this was a really tough one, especially at the part when you activate the skills near Mudrock at 3:06. I recommend activating in the exact order Ecko did here, so Eyja and Shira can give a lot of damage to Mudrock before she reaches Mousse and Midnight's hitboxes.
@@chris-ex1eh It's very important to withdraw Fang (Or her stand in) the moment Mudrock casts his AoE explosion if they hadn't already died- Any additional delay will make it so mudrock gets off another AoE before he dies. Maxing Shira may help- IF you dont have cards, the event shop sells quite a few of them if you hadn't bought them already (Scroll right, there's 3 separate groups of items for sale- the second has exp cards and LMD.) Edit: To clarify, Mudrock getting a second AoE off is SUPER bad because he will capture the tower beside your operators, which will immediately heal him, and also gain another arts shield at the same time- which makes it basically a wrap the moment he gets it off. You NEED to kill him before that second AoE- meaning you need him moving towards Eyja the moment the first AoE ends.
@@KazanaAoi yeah i have cleared the shop (except folinic pots and furniture parts) and already used every exp cards I bought from there to get my e2 silverash and max out gravel for that last stage tw-8.. and yes instead of fang I put courier on top and when mudrock does the deactivation, it deactivated only one of the towers just like how ecko did. also I did activate all the skills (mousse, eyja and shira) yet she still survived and deactivated the other tower.. i found the solution from tectone's help, by using saria skill 3, i was able to defeat her. also mudrock is a she not he xD (if you have seen the cn release)
@@chris-ex1eh Yeh- When Mudrock does the first cast it only deactivates the right most tower. However if you further stall Mudrock AFTER that right tower is captured, you delay your DPS on Mudrock allowing the time for a second cast to capture the left tower which then heals Mudrock. Either way, glad to hear you completed it. :)

Oh, my word this was so difficult, but thank you, finally managed it. I opted to use Hoshi and Shining bot to permanently hold the suicide bombers, while Exusai shredded them, that way I could mostly ignore that lane and focus on bursting down Mudrock.
I FINALLY MADE IT WITH 3* RESULT. I brought Suzuran as support unit and took Red in Orchid's place to stall Mudrock on mid lane to give arts units some extra time to take her down. And now to the next circle of Hell named Challenge Mode. Thanks, your strategy was the only one working for me.
I tried kyostinv's video, but for some reason the shaman-delaying-shenanigans work better following Eckogen's video.... Anyway thanks for the guide as always. Detail: as you can see the explosion sometimes damages the bottom tile. Medic dying is not as big a deal as slow supporter dying. Side note: If you can't see the enemy health bars due to overlap, selecting a unit to go into bullet time changes the camera angle and can sometimes let you see the health bar better.
This one almost broke me. I had to cave and level my Eyja up to E2 60. I think it's because I don't have Midnight built. I have an E1 max Lappland, but you can't choose when to activate her skill so she can't really help. I also have an E2 level 40 Silverash, but his physical damage ALMOST wasn't enough to secure the win. Everything before and after the Mudrock kill was smooth sailing, though. Excellent guide. Thank god for Eyja being in the shop recently. There's no way I would have ever gotten her otherwise.
I've noticed some of the videos have dark lighting quality. Sometimes it is a little hard to see which step is which. But overall, nice guide. Thank you very much. :)
Your strat is so clean. I used Saria S3, Ifrit S3 and Eyja volcano to nuke the everloving shit of everything that spawned in the top right including Mudrock. Had two medics healing the explosions from the suicide bombers. Nightingale is really useful in this event.
Alternative start for more DP generation: instead of Vanilla use Myrtle, instead of Fang - beefier vanguard like Texas for example. One wolf passes Myrtle, stop it with Gravel. The rest is the same. Also, in case not enough DP to deploy Gummi, Gravel in her place works fine to stop the initial wolves.
Great strat, I finally managed challenge mode based on this. For me, Manticore + slow supporter is the most reliable way to kill red shamans at the bottom. The level of my operators just nice finished them at the staircase.
Any ideas why the Mudrock captures the second tower for me too? He keeps getting healed afterwards and I can't kill him despite Ejya + SA spam + added Ifrit after

Durnar can tank better than mousse, use skill one for easier charge I Use amiya skill 3 on shirayuki place, both her and eyja can beat mudrock faster, then replace amiya with shirayuki when done
Pretty close shave, I improvised my team for what I had and I couldn't get it to work in practice until I E2'd my Hoshi, did the first mastery on Eyja's s3, and used a Siege supporter. Mixed in some lower cost units to finetune my DP usage so that enemies didn't slip through while I was waiting for more DP. Now that I'm playing this game again, I really need to work on leveling my operators up. I had to use hoshi to block mudrock after she came in range of my shirayuki and mousse, to keep mudrock from killing mousse.
Question. I just got lappland and havent power up her yet cause im focusing on Angelina. but does Lappland silence work on the shaman so that they wont expload?. asking cause if she does I'll prioritize her first for the event

This level TW-EX-8 is very hard to complete because my operator, Eyjafjalla, is at Elite 1 and level 1 and her skill rank is 5. I haven’t got enough LMD to level her up. That is why I wasted my LMD to level up my operators, build materials, and upgrade materials for my operators to train to Rank 3.
Eyjafjalla needs to be e2 with skill 3. If you have an e2 operator then bring them and find a support Eyjafjalla that's e2 s3. You can go on an arknights discord to find support units if you need to.
I followed this setup for challenge mode but had Orchid as my charge instead and baited with gravel ^^ **Edited to add: I didn't use an AOE sniper here, because I used SA S3 instead
Took me two tries cause I failed to bring down Mudrock fast enough the first time and used the wrong skill on Mousse. Brought in E2 Surtr for extra firepower on Mudrock and the last three Matterlurgist Leaders. wasn't able to regain control of the upper right tower but that's ok
Hey Ecko, just gonna let you know, cos I figured you would have noticed by now, but your recent videos are extremely dark in contrast, to the point where it is effecting the viewing experience. Take this map for example, you can barely see the top row, please fix :)

Also just fyi, following your video, i was able to do the challenge mode by simply removing one healer and sniper (aoe sniper and back healer isn’t needed) and also removing the aoe guard, then just borrowing eyja. I used two fast redeployers instead to guarantee control of the shamans and mudrock, it was a little close at times but worked effortlessly, one practice, one victory.
I've got everything besides the red shamans. Gravel dies too quickly I think because she's too low level. I'll either wait and level her or try to do it with manticore. Edit: Did it using manticore. Took forever.
I tried many times to get through, but Mudrock always killed Mousse or Astesia with one blow and again put the shield and killed the Midnight (all skill lvl 7)
Im on my 62nd attempt at following this strategy but no matter what I do Murdock takes hold of the gramophones and becomes seemingly invincible -_- cant even get her below 80% health and my operators are all higher level than this lol. Except for the 3 stars obviously haha
Had a similar issue, just leveled up my Eyja some more (Ecko's is E250, took mine up to 40 and it worked fine), didn't even really need much damage from my ranged guard anymore (was using Lappy).

Nope, even with Level 50 M3 Eyja, using E1L70 S2 Lappland, still doesn't work- is the difference that my Mousse was using S1? I mean, seriously, NOTHING is dealing enough Arts damage.

surprisingly I only took 13 practice tickets for this, including CM. skadi and Nightingale easily taking care of the enraged certainly helped

Im on my 62nd attempt at following this strategy but no matter what I do Murdock takes hold of the gramophones and becomes seemingly invincible -_- cant even get her below 80% health and my operators are all higher level than this lol. Except for the 3 stars obviously haha

Even S3M3 SilverAsh isn't enough, Mudrock still gets far enough to heal himself. How do you kill him so easily?
Had a similar issue, just leveled up my Eyja some more (Ecko's is E250, took mine up to 40 and it worked fine), didn't even really need much damage from my ranged guard anymore (was using Lappy).
You can replace Midnight with SA, but not for Eyja. Mudrock is weaker to Arts.
@@Eckogen No, no, I was using Eyja (Support), but even her and SilverAsh didn't take him down. I forget what level the Support Eyja was, so that might be it...
Yes I had the same issue even though I both use SA, Lappy and Eyja I still can't kill mudrock 😢
Nope, even with Level 50 M3 Eyja, using E1L70 S2 Lappland, still doesn't work- is the difference that my Mousse was using S1? I mean, seriously, NOTHING is dealing enough Arts damage.
This lvl is pure cancer I just can't beat it....It doesn't help that all of my supports for four days straight for Eyjafjalla are only using skill 2
The CM or spawn camp method might work for you. I have those up as well.
@@Eckogen I'll look into the spawn camp method I managed to finally beat it using a variant Ifrit method but the 10 squad member restriction for CM prevents me from using that again
