      probably online they normally have an estimate of how many they have in stock

    • @rgiles4321
      @rgiles4321 5 років тому

      Well for starters here in Texas the monopoly for millennials was advertised 3 weeks before they hit the shelves and for the second part of your question walmart.com is a fairly good source for checking on a particular stores stock and you can check multiple stores to see if they have the item available and how many they have of the item in stock also a quick phone call to the individual stores and requesting to see what they have in there inventory is another easy way to see what store has what.
      The only concern which this guy has neglected to mention is sales tax here in texas it's $0.08% and the IRS will always get there's both coming and going so that would be a major concern if you paid $0.08 on every $1.00 purchasing the game to start selling only then to be hit with more taxes from paying $9.00 for the cost of shipping so that adds additional $2.00 for every board game just stocking your initial inventory and at 182 units that comes to $364.00 in tax then the additional cost for shipping 182 units at $9.00 per unit comes to $131.04 just on taxes alone that's $495.00 in addition to all of the other expenses that would be a massive hit in the profit margin

      @@BeardedPicker Yes I know but I think Amazon's set up might be more conducive to selling larger quantities of the same item. After the holidays I think I'm going to go binge watch all your videos and learn what I can. I would not have imagined there was enough price difference between what Walmart sells an item for and what you can get on Amazon to make doing this profitable but obviously there is enough for it to be worthwhile for you to do. And we are not competing since I am several states away from you. Mass sales of the same product seems far more efficient than selling one-offs like I presently do.

      If they allow the return. Resellers have always been a problem for retail stores even before flipping on Amazon became a thing. A lot of stores refuse dealer returns as most stores don't/can't just stick returned items back on the shelf so they end up losing money. So if the customer service clerk is trained properly if you come in with a receipt saying you bought 27 of them and you're returning 8 then they'll likely refuse the return.

Sure he'd like a monopoly, every company would, but you're missing the bigger picture...there are other people who can and are doing the same thing, the definition of competition. I'd say you made this look a lot easier than it really is. I also sold limited edition discontinued Littlest Pet Shop monopoly games worth more than this, that I had a large sealed quantity of, they took 4 months to sell, on top of that I had to cut the price to $20 lower than the lowest asking price than anyone else just to get mine to sell. Retail stuff is tricky to profit on, like this guy bought all of these right before they completely sold out online and made top dollar on each one sold and they all sold within 24 hours, that's almost unheard of. Most cases, you'd get home and find 10 other people beat you to it on Amazon and they are only making $10 profit after fees and shipping so u gotta go less to sell yours and it's not even worth it now. So they all get returned. In short. This guy did it very well. Any Beginners who want to start buying crazy amounts of a product at Walmart to get into this, don't expect these results until you know exactly what your doing.

When I look at a business venture that I dream up or want to be involved in, before I do ANYTHING, I break it down into the individual steps it will take to actually DO IT. Ask yourself, do I really want to DO all the things that will make this venture successful. Break it down and look at it on a day to day basis and consider the extended amount of time it will take for YOU to make it successful. Ask yourself, am I really motivated and do I know enough about this to do something like this. Many people aren't, and if you do the above you'll have a much better idea as to whether YOU can money doing this, as it may turn out NOT to be nearly as glamorous or easy as you initially thought. Knowing beforehand WHAT you getting yourself into and not just throwing money into something, will in the end, save you from frustration and heartache! Done that, been there.
