I can’t believe how good these lessons are. I’ve only just discovered you and I’m so glad I have. First person who’s made sense and explained it properly. Fantastic. Defo be buying your book xx
@@stephencoates8165 Honestly Steve it’s the first painting I’ve done that I’m proud of and I can’t thank you enough. Huge hugs 🤗 have a wonderful day xxx
Hello! I've been trying out a lot of negative space tutorials, but your painting was the first time I've seen it used with such a fantastic final outcome. I really enjoyed watching the process of it all coming together. Thank you! 😄
Sorry, I pushed to early the "send" button. I startet with watercolors a few month ago and your teaching is so helpfully. So, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I whish you the best and send gratings from Germany, Susanne
Wow, what an eye-opener! Thank you Stephen for this brilliant video that demonstrates a relatively simple and reliable technique to enhance any woodland painting. I'll definitely be trying this.
I am not sure how I found the video, but this was great. So easy to follow and understand the layers that made up the painting with a limited palette. Thank you so much and I cant wait to try it. Hope you will have time for more videos, love that birdhouse in your garden. Be safe, and again thank you.
I ADORE this painting! I've known about negative painting, but never tried it. Now I'm going to give it a go. [albeit not this painting's complexity]. I'll start out with some simple things, and hopefully will then be able to do your painting justice. 🙂 Thank you so much, Stephen. from Qld. Oz
Hi Stephen thanks for the great tutorial I particularly like the idea of painting the negative space bit by bit I will definitely be using this technique in future painting's. Until next time take care and stay safe
Hello Dana, If you have a look at the first stage of the video, I explain that I haven't used masking fluid and the reasons why. The painting is done by filling in all the negative spaces individually so there is no need to use masking fluid. You could of course use it if you wanted but for me it would be a waste of time. Best wishes, Steve
HI Just found your you tube channel and enjoyed the contents a lot. However, when I tried accessing your 'shop' re the goods you were using, my web security tells me it is 'A dangerous site' and won't allow access. Perhaps you need to check this out as it may be others are also getting this message. Once again - enjoyed the contents immensely and have subscribed. Thank you and stay safe.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Only just seen your comment. I get plenty of visitors to my website but occasionally someone reports the same problem you have experienced. Some security software is very sensitive and for some reason picks up something it doesn't like the look of. All I can say is that the website carries a security certificate and as far as I am aware is not malicious and is safe to visit. You can bypass the warning but obviously at your own risk.
So lovely to hear an English voice online refreshing.
