Too funny, and so true. That’s why I go early and try to avoid people! You crack me up. Happy shooting!
Thanks Kellmar
Kevin so funny and yes I can relate to most of them. The one always winds me up is the people how walk in front of me just as I get something interesting happen 😅😅😅. I just got laugh and shack my head
Thanks for watching Steve 📸
God bless brother
Very Funny my friend, you can add the dog walker who's dog pisses on your leg, the Jogger or Biker that thinks they own the path and expect you to jump out of the way to avoid them after you have been tracking a subject for several minutes and are about to get "The Shot" , Oh, one can go on forever couldn't we. 👍
Haha for sure Jeff. Take care brother
I'll add the person who walks up and loudly asks "hi, what ya taking pictures of?" Well, I was taking pictures of the deer that is now running away through the field. Of course I don't give that answer. Usually I'll just say deer or birds or flowers and offer to show them photos if I have anything worthwhile. Unfortunately far too many people don't have a clue and I can insult them or try to educate them. I'll try to educate if they want to listen. As a nature photographer, I try to take the high road when I can. But I sometimes just want to give a snarky answer but I figure that, in the end, hurts all of us photographers.
For sure Jeff
This video bough backa few funny memories from out in the field. A friend snapped a photo of a bald eagle grabbing a dead fish from the surface of a lake. He was sitting in the passenger seat of my Jeep and we were moving slowly along the lake shore. We mentioned to another photographer that he got the shot and it was nothing real special due to the conditions but he was cool with that. Now let's fast forward almost 5 hours and a couple approaches us wanting to see this according to them stunning photo. He was happy to show them and they both were very disappointed. The rumor mill had taken a barely so so photo and turned it into a fine art piece worthy of publishing in Nat Geo! I still think about that photo and that couple when I'm out chasing eagles. Your video bought back that memories while siting here watching a cold rain fall. Thanks Kevin!
Great story guy. I totally agree.
All I good fun though. God bless my friend
This was fun to watch!!!
Thanks brother. Happy shooting 📸
Great video-sometimes I think most of those guys are in my head. 😂
Hahaha for sure 😆
What a fun, creative video, Kevin. I laughed the whole way through it.
Thanks brother. All in good fun. Glad you enjoyed it.
Haha 😅 all in good fun brother
Brilliant video, had me nodding in agreement and laughing out loud , thanks for posting
Lol I totally agree Kathleen. Thanks for watching
Brilliant. So true. My favourite when I was exhibiting my images a few years ago, was people saying “you must have a good camera”, suggesting photography isn’t art.
The older I’ve gotten, the less I care what others say. Smile, and wish them a nice day. They have a problem(s), not myself.
It's funny how so many of this has happened to me.
After checking, making sure you have a battery and memory card in the camera, is turn off your phone.
Great video, Kevin, lots of laughs.Thats the nature of nature photography! Greg
Hahaha thanks bro. All in good fun. So many more I know I forgot 😂
Watching this as I scroll through blurry squirrel photos 😂
Hahaha. That's TOO funny bro. 😆 Happy shooting 📸
Good one, Kevin. Perfect timing for me as my film camera broke today when I was out in the field with it. Thanks for sharing. By far made my day.👍👍
Thanks Terry. Just a little humor needed for alot of folks in this crazy world right now.
God bless bro. 📸
You make my day, Kevin. Thanks.
Who me???????😂👍
Thanks you for the kind words. We all need to laugh a little in the field. We all experience the same things so there will be brighter days 😜
Happy shooting 📸
I just take photos of wildlife. I don't even know the meaning half of the technical terms you're talking about lol. What does annoy me though is when someone accidently scares off an animal by asking me what I am taking a photograph of (which is fine public place and all--they have a right to be there) and then becomes immediately disinterested and/or wants to brag about rare warblers they have seen because I wasn't shooting something uncommon. Also photographers/birders who run over frogs/snakes/small mammals in wildlife refugees because they aren't paying attention to the road/driving slow. Birders can be the worst. Anyway, I still get excited seeing an American Robin. All wildlife is cool--rare or not.
Excellent points 👍
Common birds are the best ones imo
Happy shooting 📸
Fantastic video Kevin, so funny and you are really good making those "nature photographer". Great 😀
Lol thanks brother just a little fun 😁
Kevin, some really valid points here. I'm the same - I get out into the field for birding photography to just enjoy mself, irrespective of whether I get a good shot or not. Just the fresh air, in nature and enjoying myself. It's great for my depression and anxiety and helps develop a more positive feeling in life.
Gear isn't everything - yes, it does help, but it's not everything. People pay too much attention to gear imho. Caveat - I am a gear slut lol.
Oh man I can totally relate to depression and how photography helps. It saved my life. Litterly. You're right. The fresh air and nature all around you is the absolute best feeling. Getting a photo is just a perk
@@KevinNordstrom spot on!
I feel for you, as I have been there and still am, can I see your pics, OHHH I thought they would be better, you killed it, and the truth? you hit it on the head
, loved it, hilarious and so true. Cheers
Warner
Haha thanks man
Loved it and would love to see some more!!!!
Haha for sure more to come. Thanks for watching Terry
Now that was funny, and so true.
Haha, all in good fun. Thanks for watching 📸
that was funny man and so true at the same time.
Nearly peed myself lol
Hahaha 🤣
It is funny because it is sooooo true. You made my day with this thank you.
Haha glad you enjoyed it. Gotta laugh a little.
That was fun Kevin.
Haha thanks chuck. All in good fun. 📸
Thanks for the laughs man, and thanks for not being too serious - the world has enough of that already.
Haha for sure man. You gotta laugh even at yourself at times. Too much shit going on in the world. Photography should be an escape from all the noise. Not be a part of it. 📸
Dude that was Freaking great! I was cracking up. Would love love to team up sometime and do a funny one with ya. Maybe I could use some of my different impressions. Oh we would have a blast 😄 All great points. And look at all you're likes 👍
Hahaha good times. Gotta loosen up a bit as a photographer when we face hardship
I hear you. The one I don't like is my equipment is entry level. My equipment is what my budget would handle. My experience isn't and I believe is the beginner not the equipment. A experienced photographer does need expensive gear to do top quality work. What do you think? Good to have you back. Hope you got the help you needed. Great video. Very real.
I agree. You don't need pro gear to take pro images. Thanks Murray.
@@KevinNordstrom i think my gear is as pro as anyone's
TCs work very well with the big primes - very little slow down of AF and optical degradation is minimal, veyr minimal.
I hear mixed opinions. Especially with the 20 year old mk 1s. Some say they work fine others say they can struggle at times. I think it's all personal preference honestly. Thanks for watching and happy shooting 📸
@@KevinNordstrom I have a mark 1 500f4. My mark 3 1.4x TC is garbage. Yet to test my 20 year old mark 1. I have an R3
@@KevinNordstrom I plan to save up the extra $$$ for the mark 2 and sell my mark 1 and upgrade
@@davepastern nice! You will have to let me know bro how it goes. The mk 1 is the only one in my budget haha. I can find one for like 3k I believe. I like zooms too and prefer them over primes on long hikes
@@KevinNordstrom 3k USD sounds about right. Zooms have advantages, but the big primes are way better in IQ imho. With that said, the RF 100-500 is sharp, I just don't have the money for it, or the Sigma 150-600c. I hope Sigma can release RF lenses with AF and introduce a new 150-600 version that's native RF. Would snap that up.
great video ... the bird moment was genial
Thanks Brian.
lol well played, great vid!
😆
Why do I feel like your phone actually went in the water and you lost another like aep 😂
Lol it looks that way by the angle but it landed in grass
Haha, I think we've all ran into "that guy" out there.
Hahaha for sure 📸
lmao!!! that was a great and true video....🤣🤣🤣🤣
More to come brother lol 😅
I can relate
😆
Very funny, loved the sketches, .....
Lol thanks. A little bit of laughter is good for the soul
I know that you spent a bunch of time making this video, so pardon me for missing much of it when I laughed
Lol glad you enjoyed it George 😄 📸
It all comes down to this, are you out there to enjoy the birds and the great out doors or to stress yourself about the shot that you missed by not getting the shot, or to impress others with the gear that you have.
I am of that age that I am out to enjoy the day, getting a good shot is great, betting a great shot is fantastic. Photography to me is an experiment. I keep trying new things with the gear that I have on hand. I need a Stephen to carry it all, so I just take what is comfortable, one body and one lens. Works for me.
I laughed all through your video. That is what I call entertainment.
Thanks brother. And you're so right.
This shit is funny 😄 more like these please
Haha will do my friend 📸
The family with three screeching kids and a barking dog that hike 6 miles out to where you have to go to get wildlife shots so their kids can "experience nature" by scaring every bird and mammal away for miles.
Very nice 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks
I get to spot 5 am waiting for the stupid sunrise and then out of nowhere some SOB sets up his tripod right smack dab in front of me!!!
Hahahaha it does happen sometimes john 🤣
Lol 😂 this was perfect. I had just finished watching this video ua-cam.com/video/F96TitPYzPY/v-deo.html which dismissed a lot of the gear myths I had. Paired up with this video perfection.
Haha thanks. All in good fun. I know I missed a few...
Great video very funny unfortunately true
Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed it. Gotta laugh sometimes.
@@KevinNordstrom yes we do
When I was buying my first "serious" wildlife lens, many people tried to convince me, that there is no sense in getting anything shorter than 600mm. Fools.
Yeah a lot of bad advice out there from even "pros" unfortunately
😂 that’s hilarious
Lol thanks Kent
How DARE you want to abandon your tripod! The ONLY way you can get good photos is with an extra 20 pounds of weight......
XD XD XD
Hehehe 🤣
Haha 😂 so true!!!
😂😂
Dog walkers who let their animals run straight through your scene and scare off every animal and bird within 300 yards. Nothing against dogs and I know we don't "own" the scene. But come on! Also - other photographers who come into a shared hide and spend half an hour showing you their work on their phones. I don't mind a bit of chat while I'm working, but I really don't want the distraction of looking through someone's photos, no matter how good they might be.
I agree. It's important to form healthy relationships with other photographers. It's extremely important for our growth, but do the mingling AFTER the field work not when the action is going lol. Totally agree. Fortunately I haven't ran into any dog issues yet 😂
