I feel like people shouldn’t rank songs based on if they experience it, they should rank it based on how it sounds
That's why I was saying that I connect more with the melody and looked up the lyrics later. There are a bunch of song I love just because of the tune and melody but then I read the lyrics and either don't care, or maybe not listen as much as I used to, or grow a deeper connection to it.
Also, showing a personal connection with music is a great way to connect with an audience on UA-cam. I'm trying to sneak that in here and there instead of just making a video all about my life, history, and personal flaws...which could get dull quick as no one knows who I am and (technically) doesn't have any reason to care what I have to say.
What do you mean by that exactly, do you mean production quality because that's a useless metric to judge by. Are you saying he shouldn't be biased, because that ruins the point of these types of videos which is for the maker to share their opinions and experiences otherwise if everyone judged on the same metric that would get boring as how an album sounds production wise tends to dictate how you experience it. I am genuinely curious I just don't get what you mean by that
I’m saying he shouldn’t rank songs lower just because he hasn’t personally experienced the song meaning. He should rank them based on how the song sounds aside from the lyrics.

As a queer teenage girl this album has resonated sooo much with me, specifically coming clean, she and basket case, and is probably one of my favourite albums of all time (aside from american idiot). i would looove to see you rank american idiot, and your thoughts on the new album (which i will continue to defend with my life!!!!)
Green Day fan too and I agree with you but defend the new album?? I mean I assume you mean Saviors right? Saviors is great and most of the people I see online say that they liked it a lot do some people not?

Haha, nah I'm just kidding - they're popular for a reason! I would've put chump higher, but that's the nice thing about green day albums, there's a bit of something for everyone.
I'd be curious to see your ranking on saviors, since it's unbiased by having been popular and well known for decades now.
Question: what do you think is the "Creep" of green day songs? Like the one that's good, but hugely overplayed and "true" green day fans just groan at?
I'd think it's Good Riddance, or maybe basket case? American idiot?

I just recently started listening to Saviors. I've been forcing myself to listen to Dookie for this video that I hadn't listened to Saviors yet. So far, it's sounds pretty good. A couple of more play throughs and I'll have a better opinion of it.
I think "American Idiot" is the "Creep" for Green Day. Granted, it doesn't seem like they get tired of playing it like Thom Yorke does with "Creep" and I still like it but there are times I listen to the album and just start with "Jesus of Suburbia".
@@RCAReacts To be fair, if it weren't for Creep, Thom Yorke wouldn't have written "My Iron lung" about how much he hated that song, so if Billie Joe wrote something about how the American dream is killing him or...well that would be something :D
Maybe when Green Day mania has died down you'd be willing to do a review of OK Computer? I learned the songs properly for a concert performance recently and my favourites and views on them changed drastically after the 2nd or 3rd listen.
Oh yeah, cause you don't have enough recommendations atm. But OK Computer's always gonna be a great album - it can wait :)
