FuYing Bro Still the highest among first world countries. Only British and French oversea territories can match America's murder rate on the list of developed nations. Even Bangladesh has a lower murder rate than the United States. I blame cities like Oakland, Detroit, and San Bernardino.

For all of those saying the United States is one of the most murderous countries in the world: In the U.S., are you at risk of getting killed because of owning a smartphone? Do like 80% of all cars have darkened windows for delinquents not to see your items of value? Do you see bulletproof cars driven by average middle class citizens? Do you see people walking to a place or using public transport and think they’re insane? Do you have to stay at a party until 6:00 AM (or sunrise) for driving home at 3-4 AM is bound to getting kidnapped? Is having high walls, electrical fences, watchdogs or aggressive ones, alarms, etc. on the outside of a house totally normal for average middle class citizens? Are you afraid of calling the police (if needed) for the fear they’ll rather pair up with the criminals for money? Does the population live in constant fear and anxiety over the hundreds of homicides that occur IN A WEEK? Can absolutely everyone you meet have a story of their own or of a familiar related to getting assaulted, robbed, kidnapped, or even worse, murdered? I’ve visited the United States before, so I already expect all of the answers to be no. Therefore, no, these facts aren’t lies and the U.S. is far from being the most murderous country in the world. P.S. From a girl living in my beloved Venezuela
Elena Baez thank you these people most be really dumb.. I’m not saying USA is a holy country with no crime but to compare it with Brazil, Columbia and other, u need help🤔

I had to leave all my friends, my family and my country for being in a better life... I never went to McDonald's alone w/my friends, I never fell the freedom...
Krister Andersson Well people can reasonably disagree. There are 3 countries here that are in the South American continent (Brazil, Venezuela and Columbia), 8 are in Sub-Sahara Africa and the reminder are in Central America (5) and Caribbean (8). The exception being Mexico 1. Unless you also consider Mexico to be part of Central America, in that case it would be 6. But in the Anglophone world most people agree that the Americas is divided into two continents north and south at the Isthmus of Panama. Central America is supposed to be understood as region within North America. Therefore all the Central American countries and Mexico would also be in North America. The Caribbean Islands are part the Americas and there are certainly not in South America. So they would have to be in North America. Unless you argue that because Caribbean Islands are not on Mainland America there are in neither North America or South America. But following that logic should lead you to the conclusion that the UK and Iceland are not in Europe. Madagascar is not in Africa. El Salvadors homicide rate was 108 deaths every 100,000 inhabitants in 2015. Now it is only 2.9 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants in 2023 making El Salvador safer than Canada.
I live in South africa..... :( The scarier part is when you notice the same people walking down your street multiple times even though they don't live there. Even worse is being at home and randomly finding your outdoor gate open, even though you locked it.

I think even though there is a lot of murder, there are so many people living in america, that the murder ratio is lower than other countries that are smaller and more crowded.
Jason A I'm also surprised Guyana is not on this list ....I'm Jamaican I have friends living in Trinidad their murder rate is not as high as Jamaica is very dangerous there tho especially for women a lot of kidnapping goes on there .
Phillip Matsasa That would be true every single country on earth. now and in the past. As every bit of land today, was conquered at some point in its' history. And its' indigenous peoples either enslaved, slaughtered, driven out or assimilated. This practice can be traced back to the earliest tribes in man's long bloody history. The desire to survive propagate, and spread out, is the very trait that drove man's evolution. It is how man drove out its' competition, and became the dominant species. The most of the nations on this list, have yet to achieve an equilibrium within their societies. Or had it destroyed by corruption and dictatorships.
Phillip Matsasa, excuses, excuses. U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and many others were also once colonies and occupied by others, none of them are as high crime as those mentioned in this video.
Well when they was colonies they didn't have a high crime rate maybe they should elect people to run the country better also I'm pretty sure every country apart from a couple has been colonized by people for example the uk was colonize about 5 times
Nothing to do with it at all. The race card always rears it’s ugly head. Lived in st Lucia for many years. And the violent crime rate is pretty high considering it’s a small island. A small argument can lead to be chopped by a cutlass. And the last few years you can be killed trying to resist your cell phone being stolen. It’s a case of poverty little education And poor economy making youths have little chance of prospering with corrupt governments and want material things with little chance of getting them.
Been there once when I waa in costa rica, they were much different from each other, but Panama felt scarier as policemen just would walk up to your car with a shotgun in his hand
Knew my country, jamaica, would be on this list. I'm proud to be jamaican, but there is so much corruption and violence. And people talking about the u.s. i bet if you separated certain states and then compared their homicide rates, they'd be pretty high. Nonetheless america as a whole, had one of the hghest out of all 'developed' countries.
bruh killing is not about being in a developed countries it is about human morals and brain i you are fucked in your brain then you will kill if not you will not
Howard, America has 330 million people Jamaica only has 2.8 million people know what they meant when they say per 100,000 you don`t understand a typical Jamaican.
It is so sad to see how these men in Belize slay each other like wild beasts in the animal Kingdom on national geographic. What is even more sad is the fact that the conviction rate is small. One can get off jail sentence easily as long as they know some political government official. Belize is no longer what it used to be. I.m born and raised in Belize and there are streets in the city I would not dare walk.
I actually live in El Salvador and theres a hospital next to my house well, not next but pretty close. So the thing is that almost like every 5 minutes, I hear ambulances, and when I see the news it says like a guy was murdered or assaulted by a gang or stuff like that and it really freaks me out
Carvel Sewell ive been to the Bahamas because i have a wealthy family member there , and we visited primary schools to give them hope and stuff. A lot of people in the Bahamas actually live in poverty and are homeless. The primary school kids ran mostly illiterate , and they have burglar bars on each door because schools get shot up. and when someone misbehaves they spend the day outside getting scorned at and doing push-ups and stuff. And my family member gave us a tour of the island and there's legit 1 hospital and most people who go in it don't come out because there are few doctors and it isnt that sanitary. The whole situation of that country just makes me sad
Man come to Jamaica. Just be smart and Look out for big crowds and loud ratchet people. St.Ann is a Great Parish to stay or visit and is also the best parish in Jamaica. Do not go to Kingston no matter what.
(Sorry for sounding politically incorrect) i notice that all of these have a POC majority, i dodn't see Ukraine or Serbia on there, it's all Caribbean, Africa & South America. Not trying to be racist, just an observation
tonstad39 It's a lot deeper than that. I'm of Caribbean decent and it's been getting worse over time because of so many factors that come into play. I have family and friends who have been victims of these crimes. The location of many of these countries are one of them(drugs, etc.). I also noticed that moral values have changed. A lot of people want to be Americanized, and because most of these countries are small and poor, they do whatever it takes to try and live that life, but yet they do not want to work for it(laziness). Some have picked up the mindset that education isn't important because even though someone has a degree they might not get paid as well for all their hard work and dedication but if they rob and kill(usually so they will not have any witness and witnesses are scared to tell because of fear and corruption), they can get quick money faster. From my experience, it's never always been like that(I can only speak for the Caribbean). I used to be able to go there and leave the door open at night and walk outside as a female. I felt safe there. I used to only hear bad things in major cities(which is the case for most countries). Sorry for the long reply, but there's a lot to it. I also don't believe that being a certain race makes someone more dangerous because all races do crimes and even looking back in history, people of colour were not always perceived as dangerous.
+Eryk Pyts she didn't defend anyone, she's just clearing up misconceptions and giving clarifications on issues close to her. Also, what do you mean by spin?
In South Africa the human rights group Afriforum's research dated Oct 2018 indicate a murder rate among farmers as high as 156/100 000. This rate is questioned due to the term farm - which may vary from a commercial farm to a smallholding.
These guys sound so biased, the data they pick to describe for certain countries almost seem they have a problem with them. They describe certain countries as shit holes even though they are lower on the list and include impertinent info but then for other countries they just ascribe the violence to poverty. Things are rarely that simply.
If i said American is a country where torture is legal through bureaucracy FACT , It's a country where military spending exceeds numerous countries gdp's these funds are used for numerous military campaigns which result in the deaths both civilians and foe's alike. FACT Police brutality is on the rise in the nation. FACT These are all facts but they paint an erroneous picture, humans are prone to jumping to conclusions. It can easily be taken that america is an evil nation.
For those of you who say poverty is the main cause of high homicide rates, please take a look at Kiryas Joel, NY. Extreme poverty! Very low homicide rate!
Did you know El Salvador has lower homicide rates than Canada and the USA as of 2023. 2.9 murders every 100,000 inhabitants which is the best in either North and South America.
Many of these counties have strict gun control, or the citizens are too poor to afford a firearm. The U.K. put tighter laws on their guns and crime shot up through the roof. Banning guns doesn't always mean crime will got lower.
It is worth noting here in South Africa, our murder rate is far higher than the official figure. Many murder victims had no birth or death certificate as they live in the very rural areas. Furthermore, an estimated 20% of white murders go without any official recognition or investigation, and so are not in the legal system at all and so don't contribute to this figure. This is due to large racism against the 9% white population, and to keep the official figures lower so as not to generate resentment towards the leading party, the ANC, who are incredibly corrupt and anti-white. Also, Lesotho is pronounced "Leh-Sooh-Tooh". Despite this, South Africa is still a wonderful country to live in as any race, as day to day life in the suburbs and cities is all but untouched by these problems for the most part, except for of course the inner city. The wonder culture and friendly people make up for a lot of our problems, and geographically we have one of the most beautiful countries in the world. If you ever considered visiting, I would highly recommend it, especially along the East and South Coasts. Johannesburg is a wonder all of its own, being the worlds largest artificial forest, as well as one of Africa's largest cities.
I am from Trinidad and Tobago WI and it's so Sad to know that the country is no 13 on the highest list for crime rate smh sad for all other countries this is so Sad :(
To much foreignas in our country wish they can go back to their on county and live us in peace cause they are the ones who cost all this crimes in our beautiful country
Don't let this list deter you from visiting, or living in these countries. They are actually very nice. I live in The Bahamas. While I can't speak for other countries, but I can say that crimes ONLY occur in the Capitol Nassau.. The outer islands are perfectly safe. And don't worry, tourists are NEVER robbed, raped, mugged, etc.
Well... Maybe I will think twice about vacations in the caribbean lol. Dang... Nearly all latinamerica is in the list :/ I am actually surprised that Mexico only got the 20th spot, jeez, this is a scary place to live.
+Valfreya F Belize is number three on the list but im from Belize and we are barely hearing deaths from people except in the city.. Belize is a very nice place the people are friendly and the homicidal rate is only high because of our very small population which isn't even half of a million.
The sad thing is, many cities in the US have higher murder rates compared to the top 5-10 countries listed here. Of course I'm comparing cities with countries, but considering the vast population of those US cities, the higher murder rates are very scary.
Bullshit, No it does not. Got to laugh at the arrogance of people living in first world countries. Where i live people are burned alive in the townships with the public looking on for being accused of witchcraft as an example. When was the last time you saw someone burned alive while the crowd cheers on in your US city. The difference is when u have a school shooting the whole world knows about it, when it happens here its mentioned in a small column on the 3rd page of the local newspaper. Like in early 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris kills about 17 people, the whole world weeps, same time during those attacks Boko Haram kills over 2000 people in Nigeria, nobody knows. So to people in first world countries thinking they have it bad, go get fucked.
Yes, East St.Louis has a murder rate higher than Honduras, but do you know the murder rate of Caracas‽ Detroit looks like Singapore compared to Caracas!
Omg people! Stop saying that the U.S. should be first. America isn't the worst country it's actually one of the best so stop being so butthurt and get over yourself.
Those people are too busy thinking about the stereotypes and focus too much on the social media side. I know the US isn't the safest place in the world, but it's a haven compared to many of the countries mentioned here.
Tobaku FTW These are third world countries with highest homicide rate........the US is ranked in the middle, but to compare towards other western developed countries.....the US still has ranks higher than them.
+wildturkey3776 40 year old man on UA-cam 😂 what a complete American wander. You should be creating a family and not on a fucking website meant for 13-18 year old you fucking 40 year old virgin
This list is so wrong when it comes to Dominica....NO WAY!!! People have their doors open all day long in Dominica. I know because I AM an American Citizen living there. America should be #1. This list is total bias bullshit!!!!!
I agree! I'm from there and my home is not known for crime. We are the one of most friendliest. Yes there is crime as any other place but it's not as high as implied.#bullshitlist#fuckery
Yes Thalassa Toussaint...you got that right. I can't wait to go back and chill with my doors and windows open all day long. Everyday I got to eat dinners with my family, outside on the porch, while overlooking the ocean, and sometimes we saw the whales jumping in the sea. Now that's true living. Dominica is the best, most friendly, most natural Caribbean Island because it's the only one that the beast Columbus would recognize if his ass was to reincarnate...ha ha!! By the way...he discovered what???? Not a damn thing. Our indiginous folks were already inhabiting not just Dominica, but we were all over the planet before these beasts stole every damn thing. I wasn't born in Dominica, but it has won my heart and she will rise again soon after Hurricane Maria. It just bugs me that Most Dominicans don't seem to realize how valuable Dominica's resources are and how wealthy Dominica really is in resources...enough natural resources to export all over the world.
That’s ridiculous Dominicans are lovely chilled people pretty much. No probs at all going anywhere anytime. Lucians are feisty. Liable to get robbed there lot more murders also .. speak from experience been to Dominica many times. Lived in St Lucia fro many years
hey i live in honduras but it isnt as bad as it seems i dont know why people make it seem like honduras is the worst place in the world like no, its actually really pretty and peacefull

I think even though there is a lot of murder, there are so many people living in america, that the murder ratio is lower than other countries that are smaller and more crowded.
Its because you people have been propagandized by leftwing mainstream media
The rate per 100,000 is not that high. And media pays close attention to murders so you hear about them often
no countries in Asia, Oceania, or Europe (or middle east)
@@riorio745 it's opposite
This is how you know this is a racist bias list lmao... 🤣😂
Brazil and Mexico should always never come as any surprise because they are plagued with full of drugs, gangs, and high poverty rates
Uh, bad list. Not even close, Mexico is 26 btw. America is 128 at 4.7 homicides per 100k
I live in Trinidad and Tobago
I would say it's bad but not extreme but I believe it is because I've become desensitized to it
RobertsDigital Panama has high crime.I use to live there.
right now in trinidad we are at a state of emergency, there is a killing almost every 17 hours. i live in the u.s but im from there
Nerd Gamer trinidad has been leading jamaica since 2013 in homicide rate per capita...but ppl some how havent noticed that
Jason A I'm also surprised Guyana is not on this list ....I'm Jamaican I have friends living in Trinidad their murder rate is not as high as Jamaica is very dangerous there tho especially for women a lot of kidnapping goes on there .
Countries with high crime have past history of colonisation and inequality
Exactly
Unreal, I have lived in 6 of the top 20 locations
THANK YOU for having an up-to-date list ツ
Well Panama has reduced homicide rate to 9.6 on 2017 :) proud of my country
THANK YOU..... OUR COUNTRY IS NOT THAT BAD...PANAMA SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS LIST.... PANAMA IS NOT THAT VIOLENCE.... PLEASE......
Been there once when I waa in costa rica, they were much different from each other, but Panama felt scarier as policemen just would walk up to your car with a shotgun in his hand
rolando sparks USA is only 4.8 per 100,000
Brendan ODonnell 1.18 in Iceland
Appelsinan ok
This is wrong Botswana is getting better the problem isn't VIOLENCE it's aAids
Leon Hattingh so they don’t have a lot of murders ?
@Michael is there alot of gays there?
I thought Iraq, Afghanistan, or North Korea would make the list.
afgh and iraq that not criminal.that war.athies and christien making war to them.
Knew my country, jamaica, would be on this list. I'm proud to be jamaican, but there is so much corruption and violence. And people talking about the u.s. i bet if you separated certain states and then compared their homicide rates, they'd be pretty high. Nonetheless america as a whole, had one of the hghest out of all 'developed' countries.
bruh killing is not about being in a developed countries it is about human morals and brain i you are fucked in your brain then you will kill if not you will not
howard c im jamaican and thinking the same.
That is so true
Howard, America has 330 million people Jamaica only has 2.8 million people know what they meant when they say per 100,000 you don`t understand a typical Jamaican.
howard c which part?
It is so sad to see how these men in Belize slay each other like wild beasts in the animal Kingdom on national geographic. What is even more sad is the fact that the conviction rate is small. One can get off jail sentence easily as long as they know some political government official. Belize is no longer what it used to be. I.m born and raised in Belize and there are streets in the city I would not dare walk.
Congrats on 1.4 million subs
The data for Rwanda's homicide rate is outdated, that was for the year 2004 lol. It's one of the safest countries in Africa now
I actually live in El Salvador and theres a hospital next to my house well, not next but pretty close. So the thing is that almost like every 5 minutes, I hear ambulances, and when I see the news it says like a guy was murdered or assaulted by a gang or stuff like that and it really freaks me out
Guess what? As of 2023 El Salvador is safer than the USA and even Canada. I am serious by the way.
Let's give a nice round of applause for Honduras.

I'm not surprised that I would see Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica on the list but other Caribbean countries, that's a shocker.
Trinispace yes Trinidad and Jamaica have to be on this list ....I'm surprise to know the Bahamas n st kitts make this list .
My little trinidad so sad
Trinispace im from saint lucia and im surprised its on this list...
Trinispace I live Trinidad and Tobago before very nice place for me
The video is to slow. Step up the pace

25 countries I won't ever be visiting then.

So basically The Americas and Africa
yup....
Markheef Dessal there was not one white majority country on this list...
Where european are
Lucas Silva actually no most of brazil is mixed, in fact its propably the most mixed country in south america.
south Americans not americans
I have a hard time believing that Papua New Guinea didn't make it on the list
Excellent and informative. One tiny suggestion: Please consider editing so that "homicide" is spelled correctly.
Meanwhile everybody won't stop talking shit about Haiti
Gucci Jetty Bruce Shagg Shaggy Lee haiti is very likely on the list but since it is so poor it cannot even track the murders.
because it's a fucking hell on the earth
Not a single European country, yay!
+Batman com Preparo Still not a single european country in the list.

manfromelpaso uh what since when was Scotland the most dangerous
***** Everyone's got some sort of spin somewhere.

Me as a south african when my flag appears as the thumbnail:
In South Africa the human rights group Afriforum's research dated Oct 2018 indicate a murder rate among farmers as high as 156/100 000.
This rate is questioned due to the term farm - which may vary from a commercial farm to a smallholding.

These guys sound so biased, the data they pick to describe for certain countries almost seem they have a problem with them. They describe certain countries as shit holes even though they are lower on the list and include impertinent info but then for other countries they just ascribe the violence to poverty. Things are rarely that simply.
If you're offended by facts I got some bad news for you buddy…
CcSmokecC cherry picking fallacy
Are you sure you know what the word "biased" means?
They gave you facts, not opinions, kiddo.
If i said American is a country where torture is legal through bureaucracy FACT , It's a country where military spending exceeds numerous countries gdp's these funds are used for numerous military campaigns which result in the deaths both civilians and foe's alike. FACT Police brutality is on the rise in the nation. FACT
These are all facts but they paint an erroneous picture, humans are prone to jumping to conclusions. It can easily be taken that america is an evil nation.
***** terrorists deserve torture
violent criminals deserve some brutality...good job men in blue
"Per 100,000 inhabitants annually " is the key element.
Nonetheless, I feel all the more safer at home in Belize, than if I were in the US.
Paco Smith I live in the US and I feel safe
For those of you who say poverty is the main cause of high homicide rates, please take a look at Kiryas Joel, NY. Extreme poverty! Very low homicide rate!
Adnarim00 because its the way they brought up.
the world's poorest countries are not even son the list, Sierra Leone, Malawi and Zimbabwe
Aww I like el Salvador it's name is just catchy for me
Did you know El Salvador has lower homicide rates than Canada and the USA as of 2023. 2.9 murders every 100,000 inhabitants which is the best in either North and South America.
How many of these countries have "banned guns"?
Many of these counties have strict gun control, or the citizens are too poor to afford a firearm. The U.K. put tighter laws on their guns and crime shot up through the roof. Banning guns doesn't always mean crime will got lower.
i never thought that a lot of murderer in latin america and carribean nation
Mostly women and vulnerable prey. Has nothing to do with homophilia.... it's a macho thing. 🤔😕😉
They missed out on quite a few countries, Guyana, both British and French territories have Extremely high murder rates.

David Cortes hmm is that what you call civilized
Manuval or white
XIV Words also they are the reason why some of these countries have a murder rates
I live in Jamaica im so sad its very dangerous
This list is rubbish.
Why? It's not opinionated, it's based on actual numbers. Plus it's 4 years old. Those numbers have changed since then.
I am from Trinidad and Tobago WI and it's so Sad to know that the country is no 13 on the highest list for crime rate smh sad for all other countries this is so Sad :(
I honestly thought South Africa would be listed at No.1

Xaw hell Nigeria
Mhm....ik Trinidad was here....just making sure😆
Note:
REPORTED OR DISCOVERED murders.
Also note that if Chicago, Illinois was a country, it would be #1 on the list.
The sad thing is, many cities in the US have higher murder rates compared to the top 5-10 countries listed here. Of course I'm comparing cities with countries, but considering the vast population of those US cities, the higher murder rates are very scary.
Blacks and Mexicans
And dont forget the murders that happen in the urban cities are mostly african and latino.... Makes you think!!!!
So imagine a city in one of these countries?
