- The M8 Competition is at the top of BMW's lineup. On the outside you will find a sinister look, optional wheels, trunk lid spoiler and Laser headlights. On the inside you will be welcomed by a full leather interior and digital gauge display. Under the hood is a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 that produces 617HP & mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. I love my 2022 M8 Comp. Having worked my way up from an M2, the M8 is definitely a monster. Beautiful car for sure.
I'm in an M2 Competition right now and am looking at these as my next move. Glad to see others have done the same progression here!

Looks good but big and heavy, far cry from M2. Not sure what the appeal is vs lighter M5 comp...but these are all heavy freeway brawlers

I like that Joe is so happy and smiles so hard that he closes his eyes, every time he does the on throttle with a sub-3-second car.
I can only assume that this particular M8 Competition wasn't optioned with a carbon fiber package. That would explain why certain surfaces aren't carbon fiber. As for the M8 Competition, I absolutely love it. It's a shame that the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe was discontinued since that was essentially the biggest competitor with the new 8 Series.
It should already come this way at this price!

I also love both S63 Coupe and M8. Sadly the high performance SUVs are crushing everything in the market. These coupes/supercars just got no chance.

I prefer the back of bmw’s in general over an Amg rear. I’m not the biggest fan of the arched trunk that many Amg and 9/11’s have

The M8 has an exterior carbon fiber option package which adds CF to the front bumper, rear spoiler, mirror caps, and rear diffuser. It’s $5400.
Hey Joe, let me start of by thanking you for the amazing reviews and also much love to your wife Laurie and to Steven for his work as well. In regards to the M8 competition, I love the car. I love the murdered out look. If there was any personal Zonks it would only be one. I just don’t like there the seat controls are. There a lot of manufacturers that are putting them on the doors which I like. I don’t know it’s a little minuscule but that’s all I can think… besides the price of course. Thanks for all the hard work you.

Matte black car with glossy black wheels is one of the very instances where black wheels actually work. But in general, it has been an incredibly stupid trend and I'm glad it's (mostly) over.

This is one of my favorite BMWs (unlike the M3/M4 which look absolutely atrocious in other colors, but only beautiful in black or dark blue) to have ever graced the market. Whoever designed the new M3/M4 needs to be fired right away. Love this M8 Competition, Joe!

I like the matte black paint job. I would like to hear you talk more about the tech. Lane keep assist? Cruise control? What tech does the car have? Closest thing to a muscle car that the Germans have made it seems. A bit too heavy for my taste; a lighter car is more nimble and fun. A very expensive car; i would probably pick a 911 or a Cayman. And if you want acceleration, this is the same price as a model S plaid.

This model doesn't have A LOT of options hey offer for this car. But M8 will always be my dream car. It may not have all the cuts and angles of other super cars running 10 second 1/4 miles but seeing it in person is much more impactful than on video. This car has a great presence in person. Absolutely gorgeous.

It definitely doesn't look like a 2022 car, it looks older. Other than that it seems like a perfect sofisticated beast. It'll be nice to know how it's going to hold up with time and mileage because it seems like a true nightmare to work on. Definitely a very interesting car. I wouldn't buy it but truly a dream car for BMW fans.
