Forcing someone to act against their faith or conscience is something you'd expect in a third world country. Food, gas, lodging, fuel, are basic public accommodations. But many other things involve sending a message, celebrating or participating in an event, or using artistic expression against your faith and conscience. Those are compelled speech.
Would you force a gay baker to bake a cake saying "Gay marriage is wrong?" Would you force a female photographer to photograph male porn actors? Would you force a black baker to bake a cake for Westboro Baptist Church or for a KKK rally? Supreme Court made right choice here.

I want to have dinner with Taylor Swift. If she rejects, she is discriminating me and hating me. I will sue her...

I hear her, her heart. They are trying to force her to do something, create, something she by her heart and conscious cannot do. She's a believer i think in Jesus Christ and GOD The FATHER.

I can't believe we're having these discussions in the 21st century.

It’s scary to read some comments how comfortable people are having laws to enforce how people should run their business. Nora Roberts is a romance writer for heterosexual couples , let’s say some fans want her to write about gay couples too . Should she be forced to accommodate the gay community? Slippery slope when people want to force to change what creativity should be express in their own business.

...so Religious groups want the specific Right to decline service to anyone they choose just because of their "Religious beliefs"?
If you're in the Service Business and you're a Service Business that is in the Public space...arent you suppose to serve everyone and NOT discriminate ppl for whatever unreasonable excuse they have? I mean the SCOTUS has RULED before that refusing service to any Same-Sex couples because of their Religious beliefs is considered Discrimination and is ILLEGAL!

She should not be forced by law, nor the LGBTQ+ community to do something she by her faith, conscious, she doesnt want to do.

I support same-sex marriage, but also support Lorie Smith's argument with respect to free speech. Her case is much stronger than that of a cake-maker. The cake is accessible to only a small private audience and ultimately will be consumed out of existence. The website is intended to be an enduring publicly accessible homage to the couple and their wedding and marriage.

The cake was about someone's religious beliefs and as many people have stated go to another bakery. Why should anyone be forced to perform services that goes against their religion. I am not religious either, but I do understand it.

LoL, going by your logic if a Muslim is the CEO of a major chain they should be exempt for allowing the employees to wash their hands especially when they use their left hand to wipe their ass…. It goes against their religion there is a reason why Muslims consider the left hand unclean….

The cake is a canvas. It involved a half hour meeting with a couple to discuss likes and dislikes. It may involve a rainbow, two gay men, which would contradict his religious beliefs. Point is, this is not some standard cake in the window. They wanted speech on it.

Free speech-I get it…however, I know that people do not have to accept, like or respect me and vice versa. Now these days if capable I create and make my own whatever it may be. There’s no way in hell I’m going to beg anyone for service.

There's valid reason to be anti-"same sex marriage" and that's what people don't understand. It's not like race, your sexual preferences aren't immutable (proven by the "No Gay Gene" article in Nature), and those preferences can be dangerous to the public health also. Somehow this message never gets through to people

Do you think I chose to be gay? Do you think I WILLINGLY PICKED to be persecuted by people like you? No. I didn't.
Being gay has been scientifically proven to be natural. Humans aren't even the only species that display homosexuality.

Fark. The reason your message never gets through to people is that it is incorrect and can be dangerous to public health. It is clear that you don't know (that you know) any gay people.

I mean, there isn't a lot of genes that account for social behaviors that we participate in. If you could provide sources for how it destroys public health and the article I would be happy to review it and discuss if it is a reputable source.
