Love watching you fix stuff Luke, your sort of like the Bob Ross of electronics, nice and calm relaxing videos lol...thank you for taking the time to make 'em!
Luke, have you considered starting a Patreon for this channel? I've enjoyed your videos over the years and would not hesitate to send a few bucks a month your way.
I really enjoy seeing the repair process, as I can learn from it, and I'm grateful. Thanks :) I am wondering though, what you did to repair the micro-switches, as that wasn't really explained. Did you just dissemble them and clean them with rubbing alcohol?
Heh, I just fixed up a few Rock Band guitars for somebody last night. They use magnets and reed switches instead, which is why the paddle doesn't throw instantly like these.
Sad about the cable. It has happen to me recently. I ordered a custom quadcopter and when I got it It would freak out after a couple minutes of flight every time. This is not the first quad for me. Anyhow all connections looked good so I figured the motor was out so ordered 4 new ones since I could not get a hold of the manufacturer of the custom quad. When I took out the wires I found that 2 motor wires were pierced in three places on at least one wire per motor. They had forced bolts through them when finishing up the quad. Sometimes you just have to do things your self.
Those micro switches look just like Mechanical Alps or Cherry switches out of a Mechanical keyboard. they just like a pit taller then the keyboard ones.
I have a question the connectors that the micro switch touch have holes in them from connecting a bunch of times I think. how would you fix that? If it's fixable thanks!
Hey Luke, just thought I'd let you know that when I opened up the neck on my 360 guitar it had the same bodge job up there. Mine was a bit worse as I had a bridge between two wires. Same model of guitar, just for the 360 instead of PS3.
Do you know what the wiring patter on the Logitech guitar hero wooden is. It has 2 circuit boards in the neck and just 4 connection spots on the button board. There are 5 buttons yet 4 wires and one being a ground I am so confused. Trying to rewire it with mech switches .,. And can find nothing on this guitar any help would be awesome
Fixing Guitar hero repairs. I reckon a lot of the guitars you see for next to nothing in the good wills stores / similar stores are suffering from this bad micro-switch issue.
This is pretty unrelated but when using my guitar, the PS3 thinks I'm holding down the home button and then my guitar stops working for about a minute then it works but then it keeps thinking I'm holding down the home button. How do I fix it?
Hi, About the Combo A.V,I have bought one (a child dream since 1993...!!! But to espensive at the time). I have the same problem with the video part,do you can tell me what you have use to fix it? Thanks
Hi. I know this is an oooold video from you. I still see that you're active on youtube. I'm having some issues with an old PS3 GH guitar and by the looks of it, you seem to know a thing or two about this stuff. So I just changed the capacitors to make the guitar sync. Never done it before, but it was successful. However, one of the buttons does not respond. I've tried different necks, so it seems it might be the on the body side of the guitar that is causing this issue. I've tried googling this issue but I couldn't find anything. Do you know what the problem may be? Thanks! :)

Yay, a new repair video! Great job fixing the guitar, Luke.
I've missed these videos, glad you're back
Nice fix there, Luke! It's been great to see you back and active on youtube again! Take care buddy.
so, what exactly did you do to the inside of those microswitches? just clean them out with some alcohol or was there more to it?
Im glad to see you back doing what you do best Luke. :-)

Mr. Horseshoe
Yeah I would do the same. Luke's really one the rare UA-cam content creators that still do things like this (in my eyes anyway).
***** I'm a Patron to Game Sack, Matt Chat, Lazy Game Reviewer. They are pieces of shit?
***** You're a worthless leech.

I can't argue against your point with most UA-camrs - but Luke with a Patreon and him without should be the same guy. It's Luke after all here.

Luke, very cool and another informative vid! You're a genius dude.

Oh snap! I was there when he gave you that guitar! Famous by proxy!
Nice work luke, good to see that guitar will continue to Rock !!! :-)

MaxinMaytrix I was thinking the same thing on them being ALPS switch clones, which have been some of my favorite switches over the years.
love the repair videos, it looks like you've restored that guitar pretty well!! (and just in time too with ROCKBAND 4 on the horizon hehe)

@Lukemorse1 did you still repair/service theses guitar hero wireless guitars in 2022?

i have a ps2/ps3 wireless guitar hero controller i got but it doesnt have the dongle, is there a way i could make it wired?
But how do you take apart the switches?? You skipped that step
I'm trying to figure out how he even repaired it, this is just him saying he repaired it, I'm trying to repair mine currently
@@IBubblesTV i eventually figured it out but it was tough
Very cool! I hope its a local friend, and not someone thats shipped the controller overseas. The shipping costs alone would make it not worth it IMO.
Ben lives in Japan
I have a ROCKBAND4 GUITAR CONTROLLER that needs some work.
Good video, thank's i try fix my guitar

I have the same problem with the video part,do you can tell me what you have use to fix it?

my guitar is having problems with not registering strums sometimes, maybe the switches are the culprit
My guitar turns on for two seconds and shuts off by itself afterwards. Do you know what the issue might be?
