How do people not realize that going from 160+ to zero in an instant is killing you no matter how much safety equipment you have. to be fair i mean he was going too fast to say yes a seatbelt would’ve saved him or not. but almost a year ago i crashed going 140 mph on a highway and went off the road, flew off and flipped forward into a ditch and i can almost guaranteed say that the seatbelt saved my life. one from flying out and two from not flying towards the roof of the car and hitting my head when the car smacked the floor upside down. seatbelts do guaranteed save lives. in this case no one will ever know because we can’t change what has happened. my respects to 1stock and rip. legend gone too soon.
Had a friend pass away due to not using seat belt going 100+ mph on street and I can say confidently if he had worn his seatbelt, the chances of his survival would increase a significant amount. That’s not to say that regardless he shouldn’t have been reaching those speeds on streets or even highways but the scenario of where it happened was likely the main cause of the accident. Everyone just needs to wear seatbelts and do anything possible to increase the probability of survival, doesn’t mean it will save you but your chances are a lot better.
Wrong. His ENTIRE SEAT ejected. Not sure where you guys keep getting this incorrect info. There was nothing stopping that ejection with the exception of maybe a Roll Cage.

He went through almost the same thing a few months ago on the track and was lucky to walk away. That was his warning so he could see this coming even if no safety gear cold save him.

But this happening really opened my eyes, and shown me that there are certain risks I just don’t need to take at this point in my life anymore. Life is so short. I was in my car yesterday waiting for my mother to come out of her doctor appointment. I went to youtube an typed "M240i"and searched "today" videos. The first thing I saw was a picture of him and it said he died. It's crazy, man. That car was simply too fast for the street. I didn't even like BMW cars until the end of 2022. Especially when the B58 was on the rise. It started with the E36 M3 for me, and then I kept doing research. Hopefully I can get a G87 M2 or an F22 M240i someday. Right now, I'm struggling with my career and health. Nothing is going well in this life. Hopefully Dre made it to Heaven and the Golden City. Jack Burton said, "Never can tell."
What’s weird is that in his first wreck his car spun out at the top of the quarter just by lifting off the throttle. They thought he blew his motor but he had to tell them that the car “just started sliding away”. In this second wreck it appears the car reacted in an extremely similar way at the end of the race.
What people don't understand is how physics work. If you're moving at 150mph and then hit a wall. You're no longer doing 150, you're doing about 300mph. they're 5 really nothing to can do at this speeds.... Rip 1stock, and thank you Kern
How about not getting to those speeds on the street ? That's would've helped or let off the gas if it gets to squirlley ? Alot of preventative measures could've been at play and he would still be here also why not go to upstate new york and set up on a country road where If he did he would roll over in a field or somthing and not hit an object that killed him.
An engine diaper could’ve helped the oil getting on the tires and probably prevent the spin etc. in general though, I just hope the whole scene can take some safety precautions from this. No every car won’t have a cage, fire suppression etc.

I think you hit the nail on the head and said it multiple times. It was an issue with him being on the street. Road conditions, weather, and location were the major factors here. Were there some things that he could do better with the car? Yes, would those things have saved him? We don't know, but would they have helped? Yes absolutely. RIP.
If he was ejected from the car, there is a 99% chance he was not wearing a seat belt. And yes he could have still died with a seatbelt on but it definitely makes a difference.

I completely agree, these cheap 4-6pt cages are garbage and wouldn't do much except help in a rollover. I still stand by he should have had a legit cage in that car, when we race at the track we have to have a cage certed for the et and weight you are running. By no means is that a magic wand though, even with the best of the best cage, seat, harness and a helmet there is still a very slim chance of walking away from something like that, I just hope it was as painless as it could be 🙏rest easy 1stock
A regular seat belt/ airbag saved my life when my modded pickup went head on with a logging truck at high speed. I was going so fast that I totaled the big rig and sent its driver to the hospital while I got a helicopter ride to a trauma center after being cut out.
170+ roll cage or not would be same outcome roll cage wouldn’t stop the carbon bucket seats from snapping and flying out the car. Big issue with carbon fiber is u won’t know if it already has fracturing those carbon buckets couldn’t handle the impact. He hit the pole that holds up the high signs.

We all know the risks of racing especially when not wearing a seat belt and those that say seatbelts don’t save you install a roll cage and harness cars doing over 160 mph need them nascar uses them and how many people walk away for 200mph crashes because their safety measures are in check and if you can’t use them on the street because they not street legal then take it to a track it’s common sense
Big thing to me is choosing the right spot / road. I get that the safety equipment may not have been any use in this case. I don’t know that road well enough to speak about it here but I’m guessing there was some sort of opening rather than a continuous wall?

You cannot move properly or see when you have all of your race gear on. If you are safe on track, you are uncomfortable and unable to move freely. With a HANS and halo you can barely look out your side mirrors. That's why you see people needing help to get in an out of race cars. They have to remove things like steering wheels (which also removes airbags), a window net, etc. for proper access to everything and being safe. It is not a street setup when you can't see traffic or even a deer crossing the road. Regardless, hitting a wall/tree/pole at your trap speed is not something you survive. Those obstacles don't exist on a track.

Andre should have NOT have been racing on the street with that car KNOWING that not 5 months ago crashed the other black M240 he drove over 300 miles to race in PA. He crashed that car doing about 170mph and until now hadn't admitted that he knew what had happened. This car was said to be even more powerful and faster with an estimated power out put of over 1200++ hp and was expected to be a 7 sec. car. Now there is a limit to what is safe and what is not and this car should not have been raced on public roads. This has to be tested in a CONTROLLED environment with the proper safety equipment and emergency resources. Look, I get it.. This was a drag race for money and fame and that overtook good judgement of RISK vs. REWARDS... There is NO price on ones life and others.. It was also stated in the media (local tv new based by the findings of police investigations that he also had a 21 year old make passenger. This is a opportunity to learn from this and not make light of it as saying that he just did what he loved and influenced others to do the same.. last but not least, I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends, this is such a profound loss for so many and I hope this sinks in to another potential victim of bad decisions. Sorry that he went this way at such a young age with so much life to live.. He just got started.

I disagree most racing safety items are street legal. I used to drive a street car with a welded in 6 point bar, race seats, and harnesses. I did not have a Hans because it was not a thing then. You can survive in a fast crash without a Hans device. I hit the wall in a racecar before a Hans existed. I did take an ambulance ride. A roll bar, race seat and harnesses are still safer than not having them. Your video popped up on my suggested. I am a former street racer and a circle track guy currently. At the end of the day it is your butt in the car and only you are responsible for your butt. Sorry to hear about this guy. That car is a RACE car. Not a STREET car. That being said, regardless if it wouldve saved his life that day or not, still shouldve had all proper safety gear and equipment installed. We cannot simply say that the safety equipment would have or would not have saved him.

I no a friend who had a seat belt on and had a crash with a seat belt he was asleep and the driver spoon the car and it hit a tree and the guy wearing the seat belt died because the seat belt saved him hitting the windscreen but it snapped his neck and he died

Makes me think of the 4G awd civic that crashed racing frustratedeg. The safety equipment saved the driver but he was 1/8 or so into it and not 160+.
If he was ejected from the car, there is a 99% chance he was not wearing a seat belt. And yes he could have still died with a seatbelt on but it definitely makes a difference.

I completely agree, these cheap 4-6pt cages are garbage and wouldn't do much except help in a rollover. I still stand by he should have had a legit cage in that car, when we race at the track we have to have a cage certed for the et and weight you are running. By no means is that a magic wand though, even with the best of the best cage, seat, harness and a helmet there is still a very slim chance of walking away from something like that, I just hope it was as painless as it could be 🙏rest easy 1stock

A regular seat belt/ airbag saved my life when my modded pickup went head on with a logging truck at high speed. I was going so fast that I totaled the big rig and sent its driver to the hospital while I got a helicopter ride to a trauma center after being cut out.

170+ roll cage or not would be same outcome roll cage wouldn’t stop the carbon bucket seats from snapping and flying out the car. Big issue with carbon fiber is u won’t know if it already has fracturing those carbon buckets couldn’t handle the impact. He hit the pole that holds up the high signs.

We all know the risks of racing especially when not wearing a seat belt and those that say seatbelts don’t save you install a roll cage and harness cars doing over 160 mph need them nascar uses them and how many people walk away for 200mph crashes because their safety measures are in check and if you can’t use them on the street because they not street legal then take it to a track it’s common sense

Roll bars
Race seats
Harness
Head and neck Restraint ?
You cannot move properly or see when you have all of your race gear on. If you are safe on track, you are uncomfortable and unable to move freely. With a HANS and halo you can barely look out your side mirrors. That's why you see people needing help to get in an out of race cars. They have to remove things like steering wheels (which also removes airbags), a window net, etc. for proper access to everything and being safe. It is not a street setup when you can't see traffic or even a deer crossing the road.
Regardless, hitting a wall/tree/pole at your trap speed is not something you survive. Those obstacles don't exist on a track.

I Was a big fan of 1stock. still am. but seatbelt might of not saved him but little things add up. if he was wearing a harness with a cage. im sure he would still be here today. the car also would be alot more intact if there was a cage. dont believe me? reasons why rally drivers were getting thrown off 50 foot hills and bigger and can just walk out. or drag racing where they have crashed at insane speeds. the evidence is out to show cages are a thing for a reason. if your running a 7-8 second car and dont have a cage thats on your own fault. adding 100 pounds or whatever it may be is better then dying. a cage plus a harness would of done ALOT. if not a engine diaper aswell 100$ at jegs or summit. if you argue with me your just a moron aswell.

I couldn't agree more. I've been arguing with brain dead people all day about this. Based on where the impact happened, he would have had a really good chance of surviving with a cage and harness.

Street racing, what did you expect
Andre should have NOT have been racing on the street with that car KNOWING that not 5 months ago crashed the other black M240 he drove over 300 miles to race in PA. He crashed that car doing about 170mph and until now hadn't admitted that he knew what had happened. This car was said to be even more powerful and faster with an estimated power out put of over 1200++ hp and was expected to be a 7 sec. car. Now there is a limit to what is safe and what is not and this car should not have been raced on public roads. This has to be tested in a CONTROLLED environment with the proper safety equipment and emergency resources. Look, I get it.. This was a drag race for money and fame and that overtook good judgement of RISK vs. REWARDS... There is NO price on ones life and others.. It was also stated in the media (local tv new based by the findings of police investigations that he also had a 21 year old make passenger. This is a opportunity to learn from this and not make light of it as saying that he just did what he loved and influenced others to do the same.. last but not least, I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends, this is such a profound loss for so many and I hope this sinks in to another potential victim of bad decisions. Sorry that he went this way at such a young age with so much life to live.. He just got started.

I disagree most racing safety items are street legal. I used to drive a street car with a welded in 6 point bar, race seats, and harnesses. I did not have a Hans because it was not a thing then. You can survive in a fast crash without a Hans device. I hit the wall in a racecar before a Hans existed. I did take an ambulance ride. A roll bar, race seat and harnesses are still safer than not having them. Your video popped up on my suggested. I am a former street racer and a circle track guy currently. At the end of the day it is your butt in the car and only you are responsible for your butt. Sorry to hear about this guy. Hate that the first suggested video from you is about the death of a fellow car guy.
He didnt go 160-0 in an instant if the car stopped up the road, but yeah it prolly wasnt a survivable crash anyway. And he did survive the first crash with his seatbelt on

That car is a RACE car. Not a STREET car. That being said, regardless if it wouldve saved his life that day or not, still shouldve had all proper safety gear and equipment installed. We cannot simply say that the safety equipment would have or would not have saved him.

@ if you race with some one you will lose your mind. Push to 130mph+ how can you be safe if there is traffic at 70mph. Trust me no one want lose the game when you do competition so you will out of control at that moment.

I no a friend who had a seat belt on and had a crash with a seat belt he was asleep and the driver spoon the car and it hit a tree and the guy wearing the seat belt died because the seat belt saved him hitting the windscreen but it snapped his neck and he died
