Besides game hunting per usual, this week was huge in terms of reselling and building the Game Collection Fund. We absolutely killed it on Ebay this week making hundreds selling the doubles we didn't need in the game collection that we picked up at thrift and second had stores. I also giving you a glimpse of what it looks like to be a buyer/reseller online. Love the $10 games challenge. About 5 years ago I started watching SeeJayAre's channel and I started hitting yard sales. Since then I haven't taken a dime out of the family account for anything game related and my collection has exploded. Its so satisfying to find a deal, build your collection and also have a way to bring in some extra money.
Nice sales on eBay. An uncommon PS2 game that is around $30 loose and $36 complete is Test Drive Eve of Destruction. Looking forward to the next hunt!
I gotta tell you Rick, your videos are rock solid! Last week we lost power due to the ice storms in Oklahoma. Me and my boy spent the last 9% battery life on my phone watching your video. Well worth it! Keep up the sweet content.
Another great vid, thank you so much for your channel. My favorite Character from Mario games is Luigi. I have been a fan of his for as long as I can remember. Even with Super Mario bros I would always want to be player two. Luigi’s mansion flipped my world, It was like he finally has his own game.

Rick, firstly I want to say I love the Channel and hope to visit the store soon. Secondly I just wanted to mention that the way “Magic Eraser” works is by using tiny sharp edges. It essentially works the same as very fine sandpaper. The console looked wonderful, but thought you should know.

I actually bought both of them initially to sell them but after watching both movies, I just had to keep them in my personal collection. I love what you said and demonstrated with your SNES btw. I clean everything I sell from top to bottom so if you ever happen across my listings (I am tigmo on eBay) you'll get a nice, clean item! ;) Keep up the great work man!
Dude, you're way more considerate with cleaning consoles than most sellers on eBay. I got a Dreamcast that had cobwebs under the disc cover and what seemed like coffee splatter on the outside of the shell. Good thing I was planning on swapping shells as soon as it was delivered, but still.
Favorite character is Bowser. Bowser's Inside Story sold me on him, love the guy. Great design.
My favorite character is Toad. I loved the spin off of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. One of my favorite Wii games. Informative episode. Gotta do maintenance sometime.
I really appreciate this video. I've been struggling to get motivated to get things listed recently due to all the external craziness including school. Watching Rick's videos always helps me get pumped about getting out and thrifting, but I end up not having much money to work with due mostly to laziness. I'm gonna get a ton of stuff posted this week! Gotta get the collection fund up! Thanks Retro!
Qotd: Hard to pick a fav Mario character...but twist my arm and it would probably be Goombella from Thousand-Year Door. I always felt like she was one of the most unique characters in the Mario universe and her dialog always made me laugh back in the day!

I love your videos rick, i have been really really trying to get into thrifting because of your videos and i recently got my first car and did my first few actual runs to goodwill for games and stuff and i was able to get a Ps1 that was complete (no box just console/cords/controllers) for 25$ and i got a bunch of games as well :) Thank you so much for all the amazing videos with awesome advice. I’m glad your goodwill has games!! If I could find Lego Pirates I’d be so happy! I’ve been going to my Goodwill all week and haven’t found any games at all! I’m gonna keep visiting though. I have found some good things there before. That’s where I found my Boxed NES!

Watching your videos makes me realize how much money worth of my old games and systems I have from mult super Nintendo’s around the house games still in box. My game cube games and so on.
Yoshi would have to be my fav for Mario characters. Always liked him. Really cool video seeing you go through the whole process.
Rick l just picked up ps3, psp, Xbox 1 controller, 3 remotes, Wii sports, large folder of Pokémon cards from 1999 to 2014 and a brand new Logitech hd pro web cam sealed in box. All this at one goodwill yesterday and half of this is sold already. I got all this right when it was being put out. Love selling remotes too and the wife was excited when l showed her everything l picked up because she was on the other side of goodwill. Keep that $10 game collection going rick and l sell off some stuff too to keep my collection going

Mine's Yoshi too. He's my go to on Mario Kart and Kirby and Yoshi were my favorites on the original Smash Bros. It was broken how you could send someone off the map by eating them and making them an egg towards the edge of the map.

Great video this week, yes it was one of those “maintenance” videos that we needed but all good. Favorite Mario character is Yoshi for Mario Kart and Mario Golf.

Great video as always Rick, I recommend using Orange Pledge to clean game consoles with. It's cheaper then the armor-all and gives it a very nice shine too the console, it also is electronic safe meaning it won't fry the console if it gets inside of it.
I’ve been looking for starfox assault for my GC collection in the wild. Started watching you and kinda started my own mini collection mainly focusing on GameCube heavy hitters and series I love from smash Bros!

I don’t know how but a local game/book store had it and had it priced for $14 a couple weeks ago when I brought in some stuff to trade. I had never played it but knew I needed it!
Actually now I think about it I think they maybe looked up prices for star Fox adventures and priced it to that! Ooooops

A recommendation is not to spray the product directly on the electronics being cleaned, but rather on to a secondary cloth or tooth brush and then wipe away. This way it doesn't get into or stain the electronics boards and ports.
I recommend cleaning controller/audio/video ports with a clean brush and IPA.

I was at my local goodwill and they had ncaa 11 for ps2 and I was so excited but then I opened it and it had madden 11 for ps2 in it and I was so disappointed still got it anyways just for the case. I also found a rockband 3 and I can't remember if you said it was a good find or not but I looked it up and it was so thank you. Keep up the awesome videos man!

@RetroRick I think it would be cool to also see you take the 10 dollar came collection to have a grail item... maybe a sealed Zelda: Link to the Past or a really hard to get grail title! nurfing the size of the collection a bit, selling somethings to get some cash for a couple insane items could help make up for it and show gamers and collectors it's possible to get a title or anything you might dream of having!

I found good way to clean gunk off of systems on outside is t.s.p. works great. Gets all the grime off easily

Hey Rick, just a tip.. i use street fighter to test controllers. Put in 2 player mode and you can fully test all buttons in about a minute.

Wario is my favorite character in the Mario Universe. I always love the evil negative version of characters. Reverse Flash, Nega Duck, Bizarro and Wario just to name a few.... OH and Match if you are familiar with 90s Superboy lore.

I’d have to say my favorite Mario character is Wario. They need to make a Wario game for the switch asap!
My fav character is Mario. I first experience was Mario 1 so I'm sure that influenced it a bit, but they also always make him a well rounded character and easy to play new games with when you don't know how to play lol. Donkey Kong is also fun for things like Mario Kart. Oh and I usually save the cases in case I pick up a loose game or get a lot with some broken cases so I can just change them (and the paperwork and cover) and make the ones I'm keeping look good as new even if they were beat up.
Loving these game hunts. But I keep hearing one thing over and over. "I don't know if I have it" when it comes to the games. There's a website that has mobile app as well. Its called gameye and it keeps your collection all in one place so you know off the rip what you have in the collection. It also gives you market prices and you can keep conceals and Peripherals cataloged as well. Keep up the great work love the videos
