fun fact this whole movie was made without being a cloverfield movie. they edited in the parts on earth to tie it in to the cloverfield story but the space parts were all an independent film. cloverfield deserved better imo but its a solid film outside of that.

I loved Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane, I know this was independent and supposed to tie in, it did okay but I think I’d have preferred a Cloverfield universe written and originating in the world building from the first movie. (Last sentence also goes for 10 Cloverfield Lane btw)
Just like this movie, 10 Cloverfield Lane was also a random script that they modified to make it a Cloverfield movie.

I thought 10 Cloverfield Lane was an ok movie. But it had nothing to do with Cloverfield. I mean the name of the movie was kind of stupid.

Why would she want to warn her familly about the fire that killed her children? It's paralell universe, not time travel, and even if it was time travel, it would not be the same past, time is like a tree with ramifications, every time you move in time a new ramification is opened, even if it's parallel to the original, it will never be the same one. And parallel universes only would stay paralell (meaning exactly the same copy) for miliseconds, after it is opened or created everything has it's own will, and ends up having differences from there on. So I don't get how she wanted to warn them, so many contradictions just in that, she is creating a paradox with that will or idea.
They did leave a very good ending for a continuation, however that monster is way too big man... I don't know what to say about that... It's kindda lame.

I can understand being able to 3D print a gun, but how the hell are you going to 3D print ammunition?
They switch dimensions, 3d printed guns are the least impossible thing in this movie
I can't remember, but did the weapon discharged gun powered? If it didn't, maybe it was some kind of electromagnetic rail gun.
If you can 3dnprint a house now you should be able to 3d print a bullet in the future. But it is weird because there is not metal casting.
@@staticplays1871That's not how 3D printing works. 3D printing uses thermoplastics to build a shape from a homogenous material from the bottom up as one solid piece. A bullet is multiple separate pieces fitted together. A projectile, a casing, gunpowder, a primer...it could contain copper, steel, brass, aluminum, or hell even paper or plastic depending on the load. Not something you can 3D print. Even if you did, because it would be a solid piece the projectile is not free to leave the casing, so what you effectively have is a squib load which could very well blow up your gun.
The best you could hope for is to create something that is capable of forging/casting any and all necessary metals on demand into the specific shape needed, and then an automated system to assemble the ammunition. Which would be kind of neat, but blast furnaces aren't exactly portable.

Why do writers think space is made out of liquid nitrogen or something? Yes, space is cold, but heat needs stuff to transfer energy. So it can't flash freeze like that (or at all really) unless there's an atmosphere or something else that conducts it.
Radiation is the most common means of heat transfer in space, and it does not require matter to pass through. Otherwise, how would we get heat from the Sun?
@@johnatkins1563 I was specifically referring to how "cold" space is, or how efficiently heat would radiate from someone in space. That is, not well at all. Like you said, over time outside sources of cosmic radiation/sunlight would likely burn a human sized lump of carbon and water into a crisp.
I'm sorry but you are wrong. A liquid does not need an atmosphere to freeze.
What happens is that when the liquid (let's just talk about water) is expelled into space, the surrounding pressure drops to basically 0. Looking at the phase diagram of water you will see that when you have let's say room temperature water and reduce the pressure to 0 it will undergo a phase transition to the gas phase. Basically the water starts to boil immediately when expelled into space.
In order to undergo now a phase transition into solid phase the temperature has to drop. You say that 'heat needs stuff to transfer energy' which is wrong. You are thinking about conduction but there are other means of energy transfer: convection and radiation. In this case radiation is important. All matter with a finite temperature radiates energy and this thermal radiation depends on its surface area. When the water transitions from liquid to gas phase, the surface area increases dramatically allowing for fast radiation of heat/energy. Consequently, the waters temperature will decrease and it will freeze.
So the writers are right and you are wrong. Water when expelled to space will first boil and then freeze.

Remember that in the first Cloverfield movie does not show the monster actually dying. So the franchise can live on. If not, there's always another CG Godzilla movie to be made.

When they activated the machine, it coincided with the activation of the machine of every other universe that had a successful activation. Opening portals/gateways between universes, those monsters came from another universe, just like the aliens in cloverfield lane.
Thats the working theory, anyway.

Way more than is explainable in a UA-cam comment... The shortest was I can think to explain it is that the parallels are family units and the multiverse is the environment they exist in.....

All 3 movies are of a different universe. Hopefully Cloverfield 4 gives us more explanation.
