I think what you mean is Flow Regulators or Speed Levelers... at least that's what we call them up here in New England. Regarding the spacing of the lateral lines or distribution pipes, in most Stone & Pipe Leaching Fields, the 4 inch perforated pipes are usually 5 feet on center. However, I've also seen distribution pipes 3 feet on center, and as little as 6 inches of spacing in Fiber Tube Systems or Plastic Chambers. That's why a copy of the Septic System Design or the "as built" plan is so important to have. Typically, if the system is less than 30 years old, it should be on file at the Town Hall, but older homes with older Septic Systems, can be very challenging when it comes to finding the paperwork. In any case, before I start digging up a customer's yard, I try and get all the documentation for the Septic System first. If the Septic Plan doesn't exist or isn't available, then obviously you go into the job blind, and see what you find.

Thank's for the great video, and explaining it all. I understand every job is different, but in the case of this video, would you mind giving a ballpark cost for that kind of service ? Thank you.
