Johnathan's vintage bikes is a favourite channel of mine. Nice guy and has excellent taste in bikes and cars. Definitely do a collab with him, just a ride and chat, maybe?
@@JohnsVintageRoadBikeGarage Hi John, surprised to see you on here. could you get some rough vintage bikes and modernize them. would be interesting to see how you solve compability issues.
Myself and two friends used to get a table at the San Francisco Bike Expo at the Cow Palace. We did pretty good for a few years, we were the Beer and Hoagies Bike Club. My friend would make a mix CD and pass it out for free to people. We had a beer cooler under the table but everybody was drinking. My favorite was $1 bin. I used an old SF blue recycling bin and put all sorts of used parts in it. My friend cast shade on the Dollar Bin but it was nearly empty when we packed. He said he would never doubt the power of the Dollar Bin again. For a few years it was a two day event but it got scaled back to make room for other events like a failed minor league hockey team and the Dickens Fair. The Expo was in November so at the end of the day all sellers were packing up and all these Dickens Fair goers in fancy dress are trying to pass through the loading area because that was for some unknown reason their exit to the parking lot. The show hit the skids, the last year I made $47 dollars on parts and my friends just a few bucks. My friend who paid for the spot moved out of state and that was that. Really good times though. Your video brings back lots of memories. Same sights, same sounds.
Come out to the PNW and ride the passes your tires are named for! The Bon Jon tire is perfect for Hurricane Ridge. The Hurricane Ridge tire is just right for Bon Jon.
There is a swap meet in North Liberty, IA on February 24th. Its small but you can check it out and see if it would be worth it. Lots of high end bikes here so you may do well with your parts.
Wish I could have gone. I probably would have spent too much money. I saw some familiar faces in the crowd. We got a bike bazaar in Milwaukee on March 16. Definitely smaller than the Madison one, but not nearly as far as going to Minneapolis!
At a fair like this , you need to be slightly negotiable later in the day to clear the stock best that you can . Don't de - value items however . A good place to find that missing element to a project or restock of n.o.s .
Dang I forgot about it again. I actually made it there once and bought a GT frame that was too bike so I ended up giving it away. I kinda wish this thing was in March when the weather is better
Out of all that cool gear, I want the Jandd pant leg strap. Still have mine from college in 2000, velcro aint what it used to be. Never thought I'd see another! Great vlog!
Do low flats pedal styles work better if u bang ur legs/heels on flat mtb style pedals with inserts to shoe grip instead pedal low flats if u accidentally tip over the bike ?
I’d have thought you’d have more bikes for sale. Being a seller on flea markets or garage sales etc can be tough and frustrating, it’s good that you can make a video out of it and have a good time.!
Classic Bicycles Auburn will have a swap meet. Auburn Indiana (4.5hrs from you) June 7-9, along with a bike show in the beautiful Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. Could make a good video as it's organized by Mike Kone and will have a ton of vintage and KOF bikes on display. Maybe you could bring a bike to show?
To get all the sale items to the fair / swap meet ,Andy would have had a bit of help from friends . I needed help to get items to a bicycle charity 20km from my home last year called Cycle Recycle , at Waterloo in Sydney ,Australia . I donate to them periodically .
So many nice bikes and potentially good deals would make my head spin. Is there a central place where we can learn where and when these markets happen? Never heard of any here in the San Francisco South Bay Area
@@jean-paulavallone598 I think I’ve got $40 on it. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna build up a web store for this kind of thing to sell stuff to viewers. Stay tuned!
Flip flop pedals are the worst of both worlds. You never get the side you want when you step on em. Just switch pedals to flats if you wanna use flats for a ride...
Edit: and you mentioned it at the end. You probably already know this since you ran into Bikejerks, but the Twin Cities swap is happening Feb. 4, #greatminnesotabikeswap
Love watching your videos as my good friend Chris who runs his own bike shop in Brighton, UK, Baker Street Bikes is of a similar temperament. Must be a bike industry thing…🤔😉 Go well👍🏻 A
Dude. That white Bridgestone track bike is what’s up.

@@aq7705 hey hey, about a month ago I did a video on whether or not you can put modern components on a vintage frame. Check that one out.
Now I have a shopping list for your bins…. How can I dig through what is left?
Love your videos! Thank you!
Wow!! Thanks hey!!

Brooks B -17.... I'm keeping that. Sums it up.

Your Waterford was very nice. They just closed last year. End of the Paramount line. There's some bike history there that predates a lot of us.

I had a table at this swap in like 2002 with D Pow. Sold a bunch of shit. Hurl and Gene had the table next to us.
Bike shows are always the best!!
Aw I wish I knew about this a little in advance! Next year.
What size is the Waterford??? Ah crud! Looks like it sold! Dang…oh well…glad you did!
Cool look at the bike swap. Must be crazy good for people to drive out in the snow for it.

I'm actually in the market for some Aileron Wheel set for the 700c version. The exact ones you showed look really good.
What is the name of the Minneapolis Swap Meet that you referred to?
funny to see other youtube guys - very fun :)
Video idea….what training do you need to become a bike mechanic.
Your content really coming along, loved the trip!
Would love to know if you're going to be somewhere around Chicago. Say hi and maybe buy some stuff from you. :-)
Omnium track cranks....$$$$$$

I like John’s Reynolds tubing shirt.
The Brazin' Dropouts?? I do like me a good pun!

Maybe you should do a raffle or even a giveaway with some of your parts bin stuff 😉😉 but seriously.... A raffle! 🤩
There’s a ton of weird laws about raffles. It’s gambling.
@@bkefrmr well that's a bummer. I've had plenty of vices but gambling was never one of them LoL.
Do you still have the SunTour VGT long cage rear derailleur? If so I'd like to buy it. How much including shipping? Thanks, Rick

$800. Rim brake.

Pretty sure I am. Not sure which day yet.
Did you end up selling the Giles Berthoud bags ?
I always thought Brazen Dropouts was a perfect name.
You didn't say anything about that cool XTR crank.
There must be tens of dollars worth of scrap metal there!

Do you have a website? Or an eBay store front you sell parts at?
Not yet, but I think I will soom
