I love this gel. I used it 3 weeks ago on a wash and go and my hair is STILL defined. That crunch is rock solid for long lasting wear. I layered it with the melanin leave in conditioner. It was crunchy mccrunchington but for someone who washes her hair every 2 weeks (I stretched it to 3 this time), I am a fan!

You are 100% correct on technique! Jello Shot definitely has a learning curve but I LOVE IT. You are definitely on to something with applying the Tres Luxe Serum as a base (I love that product for layering and hold when using a curl cream for my twistouts). However I've recently discovered that using Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic as my base and then applying the Jello Shot on top.......BOMB WASH-N-GO EVERY TIME! 💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣 The same with the Orange Marmalade.
@@ladylaurenia UFD generally isn't a "crunchy" gel so using it below the Jello Shot helps to reduce the crunchiness while still giving great definition and hold. I do feel like Jello Shot has a bit of a learning curve; you don't want to use too much.

Someone who loves a hard holding gel, I use the crunchy crunchstiltskin Jell-O shot to get the most definition on my 4b hair… I use this after conditioning on clean hair that lasts me a week then for the second week I refresh by adding water and a bit of leave in and spraying the sections and re taking and activating the gel (while getting the shed hairs out) my hair is lasting another week.😆

I gave up trying to get that cast out my hair for the longest and it had the audacity to flake on me too 😭 I think this gel has so much potential in my hair, but nothing in my stash was mixing well with it. Honestly I’m on day 2 and my hair is still very crunchy. I like crunchy but this is a little firmer than what I prefer. I like the gel but I need to find something more moisturizing to pair it with so it can soften some more

I bought the sample size of the Jello Shot when I bought the Banana Cream deep conditioner. I agree. It’s super crunchy. I’ve only used it once. I’m not about that life. I don’t know if I will give it another try but it continues to live in my fridge for now.

Faye I had the same issue with jello shot. I applied it heavily. Its was so hard, stiff, and crunchy.....to the point when I tried to gently pull some of my coils to break the cast it felt like my hair strands were snapping. I will try it again and use it more sparingly. The rice pudding leave in was great, but not enough moisture to stop the crunchiness. Great video!
I seriously thought I was causing breakage when I moved my hair the first time I used it. I like the definition it gave me. I just wish it weren’t so firm

The cast is EXTREMELY hard! Extremely. If you use it, I strongly suggest using something underneath it like a butter or cream. Try it on a couple of strands first to see how your hair responds. I don’t suggest using it without a patch test

I wanted to love this but I can only use it to slick back ponytails because that strength was tewwwwww muchhhhh chile

ALWAYS put something underneath a gel, serum or grease product. You can use a leave in, hair butter, curling cream, or hair milk.
