Vienna Austria, but for the moment from Skiathos island, Greece
Από την κρύα Γερμανία
Hi, I'm from Florida (born and raised) but my parents are from Tinos, Greece. I've been in Greece a lot (Tinos mostly) and recently have been thinking of completely dropping my American Dream lifestyle that me and my wife have built throughout the years and moving to Greece. We have a beautiful lifestyle here in Florida (Clearwater/Tampa), excellent careers, beautiful home/property, cars, boats, etc...but hardly get to enjoy any of it because of this work lifestyle here. We have no kids and still have no time to do anything that we enjoy doing (boating, fishing, kayaking, vacations, going out, etc...). We have been obsessing someday to just sell everything and move to Tinos, Greece (or another island) and semi-retire. We are in our 40's and just now realizing that life is passing by way too fast and should be enjoyed more often before it's too late. It doesn't matter how much money you make here in the States because you accommodate it to your lifestyle and have no choice to work until you are in your mid 60's + then it's too late. The American Dream is nothing but a dream. Let alone the expenses here are ridiculous, food is horrible (and horrible for you), way over populated, horrendous traffic, EXTREMELY HOT, catastrophic hurricanes every year, politics, etc... I don't mean to sound negative, but that's just how it is here and it's not getting any better. I close my eyes and picture a simple life on an island in Greece with less stress and enjoying each others company to the fullest, eating healthier, exercising more, and just soaking in the beauty around us that Greece naturally has to offer. Sorry for the long message, I would just like to get your thoughts on all this.
Those are good points you mentioned and makes me think about things like access to healthcare and what taxes are like there.
I moved to Greece from Australia. It has its downsides, the government works for foreign interests, just a puppet regime, but I still would never leave. If foreigners can live here then the Greeks that migrated away should do their best to come back. It's the best plot on earth
I am on the same page as you…my husband and I are yearning to be closer to nature and love how accessible it is in its full beauty in Greece 💗 I am in love with this country even though I have no roots there - how cool that you have familial roots there! Just letting you know that you are not alone in your thinking - wishing you the best 🙏
I am Floridian too. And it’s true. We are forced to continue working hard to meet those unstoppable goals in life. And if you don’t work , you will lose everything!!!! Nothing is yours !!! And then, what ? The time has come to make a switch 😊
I'm Greek-American, and i've been to Greece many many times. I'm in my early 60's, and writing this from Athens (Pagrati) Greece. Yes, Greece is gorgeous, and the terrain varies from rugged and dry to lush in the North. The food is great and the people are warm, and the beaches are stunning. Would I want to live here? The answer is a resounding NO! Visit for vacation every year or two, yes.
Tolo is beautiful in winter: No kids, no families, no rubbish, place enough and not so hot
I did all of my high schooling in Árgos and in the summer time, I’d go to Toló like three times a week. So many fond memories of my teenage years in Toló! Now I live in Toronto in Canada.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane…
Watching from Athens. I lived in Nafplio for a year and really love Tolo! Keep having fun!
great looking beach! blessings and prayers for you and your family and your beloved abuelita 💙
Thank you 🙏
Such a beautiful clean waters ❤
From what I've seen, there is not one beach in Greece that isn't beautiful. Heaven on earth ❤❤❤
Ζηλεύω τις βουτιές σου και το φραπέ στην παραλία! Να είσαι πάντα καλά!
My favorite places in Greece. Wanted to buy peace of land in Tolo, but it's too expensive already, should have thought of it a couple of years ago . Never mind, by having a camper, I have a house pretty much everywhere! The camping in Tolo, behind the beach is very nice
Watching from Rhode Island, USA … wishing I was in Greece though lol
Beautiful tribute to your Abuelita…their love is truly a gift from God 🕊️
Wow the water is so tranquil and beautiful 😍
It really is! Is one of our favorite beaches!
Also, I forgot Romvi - the taverna on the beach, if you are in Tolo, you have to eat there, you won't be disappointed
Very nice beach, very clean water and well maintained. I recommend it to everyone visiting Greece.
Camped in Tolo 2 weeks ago….just across the road from this. We passed through last year…..we like the make over. Good Gyros bar close by.
Cycled to Nafplio as well….nice area.
Wonderful place, maybe one of my best in Greece. I have lots of beautiful memories from there. Have a nice summer time with your family!
I have been following your channel for the last couple of weeks and you really give a great inside look in the Greek way of life. The information you provide is really helpful and your videos are pleasant to look at!! Keep them coming!!
I was in Tolo last year. Thank you for the nice memories and thank you for your content. I will be in Greece in August 2024 for 3 weeks.
Αγαπώ την Ελλάδα περισσότερο από οτιδήποτε άλλο, ελπίζω να είμαι εκεί σύντομα!
Nice video, please do more videos of beaches nearby as you mentioned. Didn´t know that psili ammos means sandy beach, thanx from Sweden.
This town is where I spent the night when we went on a class excursion to Greece in high school 😁
We love Tolo, we spent 6 nights last summer and we are sad that we can't come this year. Waiting a video from Karathona too ❤
Great beach! Tolo is really beautiful.

Hi Daniel from New York! I would like to tell you if you can make a video in Bourgi island to show as the castle? Please!

1st!
Important question my friend,
I always see that Greece has this amazing pristine blue waters. However, I haven’t heard anything about shark attacks. How often or common is to watch them close to the shore? What type of sea animals are often seen in the islands. Which island has the most shark encounters? I will appreciate your answer and thank you so much for your amazing videos !!!! 🇬🇷
allow me to answer as a greek, its extremely rare to see sharks in greek waters especially beaches and even if you see ones they wont attack you usually, just dont sit around them I guess. you have to go deep inside in the aegean sea usually by a boat or sth similar to encounter sharks. What you will encounter though are medusas especially the purple ones, is not often because they dont migrate often near beaches but if you get sting by them you can paralyze and be drown, they started multiplying last years I think because of the climate change. Also in the ionian sea more often people get drown because of the strong waves or how cold/chiling/deep the water is than by marine life. You might also encounter dolpins and BIG sea turtles, dont go oohh how cuteee, stay away from them, to put it blunt when they get used to people around them they might die, cos people tend to feed them or play with them.
We Just bin there but now was Mach more buizy
