No sucking reflex means the baby is too cold. You need to warm him up before you feed him. Im sure baby goats is simular to lambs. I watch Sandi Brock up in ontario canada. She has a routine for her lambs. Its so sad when mama rejects their babies. It goes for all animals. How can a mama reject a cute baby. 😢 Sleeperdude has goats foo. And granny had her baby. They chose to feed her baby with a bottle because of grannys age. They slapped a diaper on it and brought the baby inside. Its the sweetest thing.
Thoughts from an experienced goat shepherdess: No matter who the mother is, the MOST important thing is to get some colostrum into the baby within two hours in order to prevent possible complications. Sooner, the better, as long as the kids temperature is normal. Colostrum provides essential stuff needed to live the first few months. Since you can’t find the afterbirth, and you were not present to see the birth, maybe another goat licked the little rejected kid off while Momma G was kidding baby 2. Once another doe licks the scent of the real momma’s birthing fluids off the kid, the momma will reject the kid. That’s the main reason that having limited number of goats together in one area is so important. We never had more than 10 does per penned area. Some mommas love stealing babies. Do you dogs clean up or lick off the newborns? 14:19 sometimes momma goats do not have much of a bag when they labor and deliver deliver. Even if a doe had numerous pregnancies and birthed multiples; their next pregnancies could be different; especially as the doe ages, birthing one kid is typical. One more. Even if a goat or sheep rejects their newborn, that’s rarely because the momma thinks there’s something physically wrong with her newborn. I hope this can help you. Just don’t ask me anything about chickens. I haven’t a clue on raising chickens.
MAKING THAT BABY WAIT IS A TERRIBLE IDEA, HE NEEDS MILK TO HELP HIM STAY WARM. THE LONGER HE GOES WITHOUT MOMS MILK JUST MAKES HIM WEAKER. GET HIM IN THE HOUSE WARM HIM UP AND FEED HIM MOMS MILK.
U think they would understand this by now. It’s already weak what r they weighting for. Unfortunately Stephanie has said she doesn’t read the comments very often
There was a black & white goat staying by the black newborn kid. Do you think that could be the mother? She didn't come to eat with the others. She stayed over where the babies were. I kept seeing in the background. I don't think Mama G was it's mother.
Hi Stephanie hope the new baby goat is ok and bottle feeding gives him a fighting chance. Thanks For sharing with us all Have a wonderful day take care God bless. 💕🙏
He seems smaller than the female. If he has nursed already, it could just be that he’s cold and too small to keep up with his mama and the other baby. It’s probably more important to get him warm right away so he doesn’t end up with pneumonia. Just my opinion. The first few hours after they’re born can be pretty important in determining whether they’ll live or die.
Well lots of opinions on here. I’ll just say do your best 😊 Busiest time of the year for y’all. Here we go!! Love your boots Stephanie ❤ Love y’all bunches 💙🩷💙🩷💙🩷
Praying for the baby goat's survival. I remember when I was a kid, my grandparents had a few goats and sometimes the mama rejected one. It was bottle fed until it got older, and I got to help feed it. I've bottle-fed goats, calves, lambs, baby rabbits, and puppies.
❤️💙💚💜💛💖 Another Great Day At Life On The Eddy Family Farm 🚜 👩👧👧🎅🏡🎄👨👦👦 Sending love and prayers to you and your family 💕 Thank you for sharing your videos with us ❤. I hope y'all had a blessed Christmas.
Right at the beginning of the video when you find the black little baby goat you both know that it's cold yet you do nothing about it You don't take it to its mother You don't do anything The video is 35 minutes long and you guys don't do anything the whole time and so that means it set there for even longer! 😢 Your title says you refuse to let him die yet you do nothing to make sure he doesn't!!! Shame on both you I guess making the video was more important!
Happy to hear your family had a nice Christmas. I still can't understand why kids need a tv in every room. My son-in-law did the same thing. They spend way too much time with their phones and tablets. I wish kids their time outside. It's so wonderful that your kids help out on the farm.
Is it not better to go and get goat baby formula!!! So you have it on hand!!! Why do you put hay in the kids kidding barn right now and puts the warming lights on!!! Do not delay!!! Please ❤❤❤❤❤
You didn’t watch the video because…. Brandon just said They have formula at the house The office area in the house they can put shavings down so the babies can stay warm He’s going to Tractor Supply for shavings for the goat barn And then he will bring the heat lamps and get them up hanging
Thank you both for the good news!!! The news of a struggling new born goat Just sent me into a panic!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain the Whole situation !!! I love their goats and all their animals And panic if anything bad happens to them!!
Y'all either need less goats or another feeder or move it away from the fence so they can go around it? Haha what a problem to have, no problem at all!! There's nothing cuter than baby goats!! Y'all sure have learned and taught a lot!!
Stephanie, really enjoyed your video. What cute little babies! Hope that little guy is better soon! I bet the kids love feeding the baby's. Love y'all and God Bless!❤️
Love and enjoy your videos.May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals and the homestead and new home and truck and the new babies
I so glad that the momma's are starting to have their babies. Hopefully the little male will pull through. Yes, you are doing better with your wrist. I sure do like your boots. 🤗💜🙏✌To each of y'all. 😊
That baby has no chance in the rain of warming up. Which is the reason it doesn’t have good sucking reflexes right now. It needs to get warm and nurse now to have a chance. Why r u weighting and it’s raining. Asking for trouble to weight. U want out of the rain what do u think about that baby. ❤
AWE..such cute babies..I hope the little black one improves quickly under your loving care ❤🙏🏻 thank you for sharing..I love ALL your videos . Never boring and I usually learn something new ❤️
What beautiful little babies but to me it's sad that mama is neglecting the black baby boy. I know you and Brandon will help that little guy to survive. Sending hugs to all......
I'm so loving the new baby goats. The brown one is perfect! I sure hope the black and white little boy survives! I'm so happy you guys know what you're doing with these precious little goats! Stephanie, I love your new boots! I can't wait for all the new baby goats coming soon...this is also my favorite time to see the new and different color babies being born on the farm! You two have your hands full with this! God bless. ❤....😊
I know it’s farm life but I would sit there because I would be scared the baby would get hurt. That’s why I wouldn’t be able to do what you do I worry to much. Congratulations on the start of new babies. They are so adorable. God bless
Are you sure that one with the brown spot isnt that goats with the white and black that keeps following it? It looks just like it. I dont think its mamma g’s. I noticed she wouldnt even come to eat because she wouldnt leave it.
I never comment or feel the need to however you titled this video saying what you said yet that baby doesn't stand a chance making it wait even another hour. This happened last time, same situation and your handling it the same way. I just don't understand why your not helping him right now. Why wait?
@connieshea388 yes I realize this but that mamma literally rolled that baby with her horns. The longer they wait the less chance it has.If it was a girl would they have waited? It just frustrated me to sit and watch that is all.
I AGREE THEY SHOULD MILK MOM AND GET THE BABY MOMS MILK THEN MAYBE SHE WILL TAKE THE BABY. BUT TO WAIT JUST MAKES THE BABY WEAK. WHEN THE BABY IS WEAK THEY DONT MAKE IT.
you guys are doing a great job. kiddos will love bottle feeding new little baby. I loved playing Guess Who with my kids all year round. I had spotted your new boots. Thank you for sharing .Keep doing what your doing. look forward to seeing more babies❤
Why don’t you bring another of the troughs from the other pen so that the goats can spread out better in the feeding area? It seems like they are so crowded that they all might get enough nutrition. That is especially important if they are all close to kidding. They need the hay and grain to produce milk. I know you take good care of your animals, but you have had a lot on your plate lately with all that has been going on, from Steph’s arm to Kaison and kids’ activities. Sometimes your viewers may see things and have solutions, not to interfere with, but to help you out.
One of our Goats 🐐 had a baby buck, she would not nurse him, no matter what we tried. We bottle fed him until he was old enough to eat and drink on his own. We ended up selling Dixie the mama, we felt she wasn't going to be a good mother. Hopefully things work out well for your situation.
I think you need more feeding troughs😊
It looks like you need more feeding troughs for all those goats. Some can't get up to the food.
Guys put straw in the barn and let the babies and mom's go in to keep warm
No sucking reflex means the baby is too cold. You need to warm him up before you feed him. Im sure baby goats is simular to lambs.

True. Learned that on Sandi Brock. Sheep farmer in Canada
I see we have a few of us Sandi Brock fans up in here. ❤
Yes temps make a huge difference... 🙏🙏 love you all so much! Continued prayers and God bless ❤❤
@@ReneeLewis-sv6xp she lives a couple hours from me.
You should never walk away from an unclaimed baby, it's dangerous for the baby goat to be left.

@2:34 poor baby goat getting attacked by another big goat. So sad😢
The goat you thought was moma just head butted that tiny baby right when you walked away to go in the pen. It's right at the beginning of your video 😢
There was a black & white goat staying by the black newborn kid. Do you think that could be the mother? She didn't come to eat with the others. She stayed over where the babies were. I kept seeing in the background. I don't think Mama G was it's mother.
Wow I just left that identical comment! Im glad I wasnt the only one who noticed. It looks just like her!
Congratulations on having a thriving farm. You both are so loving to your animals.
Brandon the goats look awfully crowded when eating. Anyway you extend the feeders.
Just don't leave the baby there to defend him/herself.
Hi Stephanie hope the new baby goat is ok and bottle feeding gives him a fighting chance. Thanks For sharing with us all Have a wonderful day take care God bless. 💕🙏
One goat was hitting the baby, did you see that? :(

The baby can't suckle when it's cold...
@@odettec1it’s not even that cold outside
Hi Stephanie and Brandon, now it starts with all the babies!! Oh boy! God bless you all.
I thank you guys need more feeding troughs!! Poor goats having to jump on top of each other to eat!! Common sense PLEASE!!!
AWWW so cute, thank you for sharing your farm/life/family with us
If there temp drops, they will not drink much. Check their temp and try and get it back up. Then check and see if it's sucking power has started more

You should probably get some bottles and milk for just in case of any rejection. You’re aware of birthing times of the goats.

I thought the separation of the pen was to reduce the fight for food and give potential mommas some space? I'm not a farmer.. Just asking.

I agree that little baby needs warmth and colostrum right now or it won't survive plz help that little baby the mama is not going to accept it
Baby 🐐 🐐 finally ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Omg beautiful ❤
I feel like between the mamas rejecting that little baby and you all waiting before you take care of it it doesn't really stand a chance!
Do the newborn baby goats stay out in the rain? Please keep us posted on the little black and white goat.
I understand that yall wait but you need to try to milk mom so you can mom colostrum milk from her.. you cant just give them anything

The baby needs colostrum the mother provides. If they can they give her time to accept the baby. That anyway is my understanding.

Why are they head butting that baby? You didn’t see it you just turned your back and the one you said was mama head butted that poor baby!

Why do you have so many goats
The baby goats at auction after they are weaned help pay for the feed for the farm, I believe.
BECAUSE THEY ARE GOAT FARMERS....easy as that...😊
So excited to see baby goats
You tell mama G😂
Aww, poor baby. What a little cutie. ❤
The babies are sweet.
