There's a June bug that buzzes around me after work. I've never seen one here and today it landed on me so I gave it my hands and we hung out for about 20 minutes. Coolest Friday I've had in years.
I just probably woke half the neighborhood here in Maine when I just went to let my dog in and was rudely flown into by a mean June Bug that wanted to watch me squirm. The noises the wings make when they fly around makes my skin crawl!! Thank goodness they are only around for about a month!!
Just had one fly through my porch fan. And it cut the poor baby in half. But I collect them for my Chickens, They totally go ape Shit. Love them (LOLS.)
June bugs are pretty harmless, but they scare me sometimes with their buzzing because I'm thinking its a bee or wasp. Here in Texas they actually come out in late April and disappear in late June.
The brown june bugs are NOT HARMLESS. They actually release a fluid that causes skin to blister and itch. When scratched you may spread the fluid inside blisters and create more blisters. This can leave a bad scar.
Brown June bugs cause skin blisters that itch and when scratched u may spread fluid causing more blisters. This can leave a bad scar. Plus they eat tree roots and kill healthy large trees.
Who knew June bugs could be such troublemakers? From itchy blisters to tree troubles, they sure know how to leave a lasting impact. Stay cautious and protect those trees!
I've used ortho home defense every year.. Just spray it around the border of the whole house about a foot or 2 out.. And also spread in the weighted and trees and flower areas.. And around any entrance points like doors or windows. I also spray a little on the inside of my garage floor. because that's usually where they are the worst. That stuff is amazing and it lasts all season. Really does teep the bugs away..
June bugs used to be quite common in the 1960s... banging on my screen windows trying to get in at the light. Now I never see them anymore, or in the past 30 years or so.
It's interesting how insect populations can change over time. Environmental factors and habitat alterations may play a role. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Theyre the best if you train them and can freak out your friends and make them ask why you choose this and order the army to attack them but other wise I love them
Not the brown ones they kill healthy trees and cause skin blisters. When scratched u spread fluid causing more blisters leaving a bad scar. The green large one I don’t think they do this as for brown ones watch out.
Natural predators can contribute to controlling June bugs, but depending on the severity of the issue and specific circumstances, a combination of methods may be necessary to ensure effective control. Pest control professionals can assess the situation and provide tailored solutions that prioritize both effectiveness and environmental considerations.
Dude you should have had pics show up in the corner of the screen of what the bugs might look like or what the vegetation that they eat looks like, maybe even pics of products that you might use...this was lame.
I am watching this sitting next to my window and my room light is on, I have about 200 of them kamikazeing themselves into the window so hard it sounds like someone is throwing little rocks at lmao and of you think that's bad I pray to god thsty dog doesn't have to go out late at night because my steps have hundreds of them because of my yards light and that's unfortunately am absolute necessity! I also have a street light in my yard to light up the drive way and my shop but because it's so bright it attacks thousands not them. When I get up to walk the dog in the morning you can just hear them all exploding underneath your feet. But that's all the joy about living in the absolute middle of nowhere E C MN. The weird thing though this year they were coming out weeks earlier than ever before so I was hoping they wouldn't be out in such Force now I'm the beginning of June but I think they were out so early is because there is way more than normal! More this year than I've ever seen before in my lifetime.
I have no grass why because I live in a building in New York City but I buy flowers. Should I stop buying flowers? I just spotted one and killed it now I had another one 👀🤦🏽♀️. I’m pretty sure it’s a lot more. I gotta find them all and burn them. I had one on my Bikini that was hanging up, it kept crawling but didn’t fly. I never seen a junebug before. I was so amazed but I killed it. I had a small baby June Bed. I should of never brought flowers 😔 or maybe they came from my window.
When I was at a summer camp two years ago, there were thousands of these disgusting things, so a kid made a net and caught a bunch whenever we were next to the fire and jammed them all into a tic tac box, he then proceeded to torture them in really disgusting ways
Omg I HATE June bugs!!!! A big one flew up my skirt and attached his Velcro feet to my thigh and was hissing. I freaked out!! I have him trapped now. Do I kill it?? It’s so huge 😭
Oh no, that sounds like a terrifying experience! It's understandable to feel scared when confronted with an unexpected and large bug. While killing the June bug might be one option, you could also consider safely releasing it outside, away from your immediate vicinity. Don't worry, June bugs are harmless to humans. 😊
I'm in my room and there was a June bug on my foot. That's why I'm here.
Getting to your car is like walking the green mile.
LOL!!!!!

I'm here because everytime I'm in the park at night time, they always show up in packs and start mating surrounding us.
Guys are actually pretty nice. These beetles never harm me and in fact once they come onto my hand, they don't want to leave.
Cadence The sweet skunk I keep one as a pet! They're lovely bugs
Weirdos
Auggie B me too!! Hahahah they’re really cute
I just saved one. The ten striped kind. Got on my shoe and didn't want to leave. Put him in a tree. Pretty little guy.
@@prumerop724 why are they weirdos, because they see beauty and kindness in nature that you apparently can't see at all??

Ft.Worth the Rainbow Dung Beetle also comes out this time of year it's a pretty cool beetle with it's bright colors.

Bro it's earlyish March and they're already out. This Houston weather and big infestation makes me feel so gross
@@MichaelJunior1999 That’s pretty weird. Up here in the Dallas area they don’t appear until mid-late April.
@@whyme3772 It's always painfully humid and muggy down here and they've infested us. Dallas must be nice 😪
This is Grandma in Texas. Thank you for sharing this information
Thanks for watching!
I have a june bug on a string, right now.....

Anyone else on the couch in your apartment snuggled up in a blanket at three am while everyone sleeping and watching this?
9 months later and yeah thats me. Having a june bug invasion.
Yes 😭🤣
We have plenty in Florida. Green metallic hologramish
Can we eat them?
do they bite?
John Gate no, although 10 lined June beetles hiss, there only defense is flight.
yes they bite.
They do, and when they bite you during any phase of the moon, you turn into a were June bug

Are they native to Australia also?
June bugs aren't native to Australia; they are primarily found in North America.
@RovePestControl ok cool I'm going on vacation there soon figured I'd they could use some
Moles, shrews, spiders, and praying mantis can also control them; and then you don't have to worry about all those harmful chemicals.

I have moles, shrews and voles. The lawn is still packed with them. Not to mention that the predators of the grubs also cause extensive damage.
That is certainly the downside of natural predators. They leave their own mark, and can cause quite a lot of damage to your landscaping.

Japanese Beetle 🐞 so pretty.
Japanese Beetles are so pretty! It's too bad they leave your landscaping looking not so pretty.
Once you get ducks your June bugs disappear.
Do they bite? That is all
They are attracted to my phone light when I am painting. I look psycho when I am trashing around trying to kill it. That's why I'm here.
The struggle is real! June bugs seem to have a thing for phone lights. Hopefully, you find a bug-free painting session soon.
June bugs do not bite they annoy people
I just stomped on one at 1200 on The GANG
They get stuck in your hair
Me too sign of June but I have two cats hunting the June bug that's handing behind the TV. Haha Egyptian wild cat, dinner
Fought 3 of them in my basement when working on my vehicle. Almost threw hands
Sounds like quite the battle! June bugs can be persistent. Glad you made it through!

Stuff of nightmares
June bugs fly up to high buildings just because there is light and it's annoying
I make them as a kite when I was a kid.
If you are hit in the forehead with one while riding motorcycle your eyes will water.
I pick them up off my patio and let them go on the lawn
That's great! Helping June bugs find their way back to nature is a kind gesture.
June bugs are pretty harmless tbh
