- Late last night we got some juicy new Falcom info including news on the Trails in the Sky 1st remake, a new version of Ys X Nordics, and another Ys game finally making its way to the Switch!

This isn't making big headlines recently, but Masayuki Kato, the founder and Ceo of Nihon Falcom has passed away a few days ago(December 15.). RIP to that guy.

From what I heard from youtuber The Kiseki Nut, Ys X Proud Nordics is supposed to be a stepping stone for Falcom's plan to release multiple games every year, starting 2026.
This is also indirectly means that the Sky remake is Falcom's only major release for 2025.
And yes this is Falcom's first simultaneous worldwide. They really want more people to get into the Trails series 😁
Fun fact. But Falcom's shortest time of releasing a new version of their game after it's release was actually 4 months. It was a super old Ys game that I can't remember which one right now. From what I heard the reason Falcom did that was because Japanese players complained that it was too easy, so they had to re-release an expert mode.
I'm hoping that Proud Nordics will release for the Switch 2. That will give me an excuse to hold off from buying the Switch version of the origninal version.

Awesome, this is what I have been waiting for! I have been collecting all of the Trails games but held off. I was told play the Sky games before getting into the others.
To answer your question about YS Memories of Celceta:
It was one of my favorite Vita RPGs back in the day alongside Persona 4 Golden and Tales of Hearts R. I haven't played the steam version, but I'dhighly recommend trying it out.
I've played YS origins, Memories of Celceta, and YS 8. Im glad I put off YS10 for as long as i have, but im frustrated that they're pulling an Atlus, and i feel for the people who already bought the original version
Really wish it was on ps4, I probably get it for switch at least. Btw, trails in the sky the 3rd is my favorite of the 3. Anyways I wish Falcom would remake Ys 5(only released in Japan) and Brandish 2. Celceta is the only Ys game I haven't beaten but it's a good game.
Also when you eventually do play the trails series, make sure you read the Ring of Judgement manga before playing Trails of Zero.

I’m excited for the Trails in the Sky Remake. I’ve been wanting to try Trails for a little while now but it never felt like there was a right time or game for me to do so until now. I follow Luxin as a Xenoblade fan and he talks a lot about this as well which is where my distant curiosity for the series started as their seems to be quite a bit of Xenoblade and Trails fandom overlap.
I’m the exact same! Been waiting for this to come to modern platforms to jump in. You’re right about there being a lot of overlap between fandoms.
I love Ys X but I don't think I'm gonna spend another $60 or $70 for an upgraded version. I was planning to play the game on new game plus in a year or two.
they better give the already owners of ys x a upgrade for 10 at max 20 bucks or it would feel like a scam like we bought ys x full price for beta version

Literally got Ys X in the mail this week. I pick up Falcom games automatically if I'm interested cause they disappear quickly. Irritating they announced a "superior" version right after I bought it. Hope they give a way to upgrade.
You are like me I know that If I'm not buy ys or legend of heroes in day one it will be hard to find at least in my country and then they did this. At least if they do the expansion via dlc I buy but if the only way to play the expansion it's buying the game again NO way in hell Ill buy. It sucks to be honest.. This is greedy they think they are atlus
Scherazard's costume is too good to be true in this day and age. Kudos to Falcom for standing their ground. Let's hope that Gung Ho doesn't "localize it" for the Western release.

I played memories of Celceta on ps4. Its a pretty mid Ys game ngl. But its only about 30 hours and kinda easy. A nice pallette cleanser rpg.
It’s complete bullshit just think about it. It literally just came out and you are telling me they couldn’t have waited a month to release a complete version for us instead they’re gonna charge us twice. No people need to not buy this game.
At least Persona 5 Royal took awhile 😭
Ys 10 came out in Japan over a year ago, though. (Making it about a year and a half between releases for Japan. And if this doesn't get world wide treatment like TitS 1, then don't expect the Proud version of Ys 10 until LATE 2025, if not early 2026 in the west)
Don't blame falcom for NISAs' inability to see the future.
And, this isn't the first time they have done this.
They did it with Ys 8 (2016 original release with an expanded version in 2017)
And Tokyo Xanadu (2015 original release with an expanded version in 2016, 2017)

The difference it's the ys8 when release the best version they did to switch and ps4 not the vita again, this ys proud will be again on Ps5 I don't know if I'm explain properly since Im not English @@RaifSeverence

Glad i waited and didn’t buy Ys X right away.
Celceta is great! But it is one of the worst Ys games. It's like a pure piece of silver in a pile of pure gold. It's absolutely still worth playing, but don't get your hopes too high with it.
It's a good ys, one thing that I didn't like it's the treasures for trophies I spend like 3 hours just to figure out where was my last treasure ahah
