I am so happy we finally get Sky in a propper English Dub. Not just battle lines. They anounced it on there English site along with Frensh and German text. I can't speak either but more people being able to play this series is only a good thin!
It's a shame because the German and French localizations are likely the bulk of the unfinished work that's keeping us waiting till Fall. The English and Japanese scripts have been done for a long time.
@@nelsonw9483 We don't know that. I did not see any english text in the trailer. And considering that there will probably be new dialog I would not be surprised it is not done yet. And we allready get Daybreak 2 and Ys memoire aswell. The wait won't be that long.
@@nelsonw9483 I don't think the german and french translation will push the game to fall. Grandia 2 was published by Gungho and they obviously used AI to translate the game in german, it was horrendous and definitely not done by a native speaker.
The crazy thing is that you almost have as many subs as GungHo does. I'm taking this video as confirmation that you will be publishing Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter!
First of all, Breathe Right strips save my life every night. I'm sure I'd suffocate without them. Second, I could not possible be more excited for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter to come out! The new trailer was even more beautiful than the announcement was, and I want to thank Breathe Right strips for keeping me alive this long and I hope they continue their magic until release day!
I am pretty happy they are using the daybreak battle style. Not that I have a problem with spending time with the game but there are always other games who also want to be played, so a little less time spent with repeating mobs is nice.
The naming convention in the original is the way it is for a specific reason. Calling it the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd would lead to some confusion amongst players since i know people to this day think all 3 games tell one story, when thats not true. FC and SC (first and second chapter) tell 1 story. The 3rd tells a different story, but uses the characters from FC and SC, while setting up plot points for Zero to Cold Steel 4, in the same way that reverie tells a different story from the 6 games that came before it, but uses characters from it, while setting up plot points for Daybreak and beyond)
As someone who bought the collectors edition for YS X I'm low key pissed lol I won't be buying collectors editions anymore if this becomes a normal practice for falcom
This. I even bought 3 collector's editions for Ys X Nordics. (2 JP collector's editions, 1 each for switch and Ps5, then 1 US CE for PS5) Granted, I got one of the JP CEs on sale, but still. I love supporting Ys, but this isn't the fucking way. Like wth did I buy the base game for?
If it's in dlc format and cheap I will buy but if it's not and they want people to buy the game a second time it's a big NO to me I already spent 60 euros on that I have more games I want. It's stupid if they will do this to the games from now on
SAME! This is the main reason I’m upset with this news, i bought the limited edition for Nordics but havent got a chance to play it yet so its still nicely sealed but if they end up releasing the newer version with a newer collectors edition, ima lowkey be pissed off 😖
Ys X getting an expanded version a little over a year after the originals launch isnt that new for falcom. They've done it before. Ys 8 did this. (We in the west didnt know it becasue the versions we got were based on said expanded version. Ys 8 originally released in 2016 for the PS vita. An expanded version was released the following year, 2017, on PS4. Tokyo Xanadu did this as well.
would have mentioned this as well, but you did it earlier. iirc it was the playable dana sequences that was added in the expanded version. we western players received the full version and as such never experienced this before. as for the game itself, i wonder whether it's gonna be a Switch 2 release title, since the name change indicate a new game alltogether while the content i read so far made it seem more like some DLC. time will tell.
I played it on the Vida and then I played it again on the PlayStation with the new content for eight and I was really happy with it now I own 8 on every platform. Why they didn’t expand monstrum nox I’ll never know.
I haven't got to Daybreak yet (I'm currently on CS3 and working my way through in order), but how is everyone liking the combat there? This trailer, at least for me, had me thinking the combat would have an option to be either action OR turn based as it said you could switch between the two modes. Do you think it will be both at the same time though similarly to what I've heard about Daybreak? Or will this just be a feature you select at the beginning of the game and choose either turn or action and then you can toggle between the two in an option menu?
If it's like daybreak, it'll be both. A pretty simple action combat for clearing out trash mobs, that can switch to turn based at the press of a button with only turn based for bossess
I know people are hyping it up as this new thing but really its a logical evolution of the field attacks. Its basic combos, a roll and enemies now fight back. Also no action mode on bosses and tbh you are doing it to stun the enemy and go turn based because unless the enemies are lower level, killing them in action mode is tedious .
Well, this is not the first time they have released a new version of a game with extra content. Tokyo Xanadu did the same when it was ported to PS4. The extra content on Tokyo Xanadu happened during the entire game, and not just at the end. They may try something like that. Maybe it's an expanded version for switch 2 release? I'm quite sure that both Trails in the Sky remake and Ys proud nordics are trying to get into the sales of the Switch 2 somehow.
But in Tokyo Xanadu’s case, the og game ONLY existed on the Vita and the rerelease was more of a port, the extra content was just a bonus. Ys X has no excuses being multiplatform already.
If it was like xanadu then they would only do this when the Ps6 came out like a remastered version of the game. It's stupid they think they are like atlus who release persona vanilla and then the better version, falcom it's not a big company compared to that. In my opinion it's a gready practise they spit in the faces of people who support them day one im disappointed with them
@@adrianoedmudunno about all these Atlus comparisons because this is nothing new with Falcom as they are a smaller company and had survived this way. Just look at how they do music. The OST for Nordics is being re-released, for example. My guess is that people have finally noticed it? However, I'm still confused why they would schedule for 2025 when the Switch successor is coming. I know it's backwards compatible but that's going to deter people from buying if they think a more optimized re-release will come out.
@maryford3676 about the ost I didn't know that. I know they usually re release games from one platform to other with a little more content like the lacrimosa of Dana the ps4 version have more content than the vita but that fine because if from one console to another newish console but not this yeah will be in the swith 2 but what about the Ps5 costumers?for me it's stupid they could wait and when the Ps6 release then they could do that version, I don't know what they thinking doing this so soon but maybe this will be nothing special or big, maybe it's like a 10 dollar dlc xd
@@adrianoedmu I think their objective is to have an Ys game and a Trails game for Switch 2. Trails in the sky remake is perfect for the Switch 2 release, and since they don't have the time to create a new Ys game, they went with the Ys X Proud Nordics game there. I'm not sure if that decision would be a good one. They will be competing with first-party nintendo games, and they are not going to win that battle. Besides that, the timing is very bad for this releases as a whole regarding their own products. They are going to miss their 2025 release of a Xanadu game (one each 10 years). They are also going to loose the momentum they got with Kai no Kiseki making people wait another year.
So I think if they go the DLC route for Nordics, it’ll be the $30-$40 range and the new game will be the $60-$70 price point. I haven’t gotten it yet so I’m gonna hold off for now. The Trails news doesn’t strike me as odd. My only want is that they give it the love and time it deserves to make it great.
Hats off to you for being able to make a video while having already gone to bed! Glad to hear that the Trails In the Sky remake is going to get an English dub. That will help it sell better in the West, and overall, we want strong sales, regardless of region, so that there is a good chance of having the 2nd and 3rd game get a do over. Yea... I'd love the Ys X extra content to be free to current owners, but $10-$15 wouldn't be too bad if it is going to be DLC. We know an "Atlas" is being pulled if that becomes an excuse to release a new collector's edition.
Yeah, I usually get the collectors edition, off the cards for me now. I hope Japan is getting one and I can import it. Also happy Europe is getting a physical release.
The Trails trailer looks AMAZING! And yeah… that Nordics news is yucky. I haven’t bought it yet because I’ve been so deep into Romancing Saga 2. It reminds me of when I beat the original release of Dragon Quest XI… and then they released a definitive version… and I couldn’t just revisit it to see all the new stuff, but I would have to start my game over. I was so bummed as I don’t have a lot of time for video games.
@@louvella-sama No, i am not saying it is valid at all, on the contrary i would love to see people shaming Atlus for this type of business practice as much as they are shaming Falcom for it. Greetings from a guy who brought and played the original versions of both P5 and SMT5 on release.
I agree, the Ys X Proud Nordis should just DLC after such a short time. Trails in the Sky the 1st Chapter looks awesome, I'm glad it's on PS5 and Steam also.
@@orochi_warrior if they wanted they could wait to do that new content and then when they announced the ys 10 they could released with that new content already , this is just company greed
@@CrimsonBladezz we didn't say they don't deserve the money for the work they did, we are talking about the practice they are doing with this. I don't know if the extra content will be available in dlc format but if it's not it will be like joking with the people who already got the game
Great i didn't buy ys x when i had the chance a couple of days ago. But, if more companies do what atlus does more often, i think i'll just wait a lot before buying a game :/
You'll be waiting two years, the Ys 10 Proud Nordics is unlikely to come west until 2026. Falcom already has 3 games slated for western release next year, it's extremely unlikely they want another game competing with what's already on tap.
@@CharlesJX Good on you, I firmly believe in voting with your wallet. I'm playing Ys 10 right now, and the game is amazing. Two years from now, if proud is a DLC, I'll probably buy it, and if it's an add on plus the game at full price, I'll skip it. I'm also not going to incentivize business practices I disagree with.
Not a fan of the Atlus move. I don't have Ys X yet and now I won't buy it. I can't wait for Sky though. So glad it's not locked to Switch (which I don't have)
I heard that Ys X Proud Nordics is meant to be a stepping stone for Falcom's plan to release multiple games every year starting 2026. I'm hoping Proud Nordics will be released for Switch 2.
I’m wary of the Ys X rerelease for one major reason: the game simply isn’t missing anything. It’s paced very well, and lands at a comfortable 50-55 hours. I never much cared for it when Atlus did this, but it was always because I felt the new stuff was either pointless, or a detriment to the game as a whole for various reasons. Like ruining the pacing, adding elements that clash artistically, or adding stuff that’s just plain bad. Never because it was a cash grab or whatever. Nocturne Maniax and SMTV Vengeance are the only times they made it work in my opinion.
Persona 5 was my first atlus game, so persona 5 to persona 5 royale was exciting and awesome for a game I already loved. Then it happened to smt v, a game that I liked, but wasn't too crazy about and never actually beat. That left a sour taste, and from now on, I figure I should just wait for them to release the definitive edition of their game before I bother buying. Haven't bought Persona 3 Reload or Metaphor because of this. I have games in the backlog, im fine with waiting.
Olivier looks so lovely in the trailer! ❤ The full release for some updates to the game model is truly bad business. I had not picked up Nordics, and seeing this, I may refrain completely. The first YS I may not buy. Very sad. I hope the outcry makes them reconsider how they plan to roll this out. Great video and such dedication, sir! ❤
Well I wasn't that excited about Trails in the Sky remake but I am now. I am a bit peeved about the expanded Ys Nordics release. I bought the game, but I haven't played it yet and I don't know if I should even bother if I'm just going to miss story content by doing so.
I’m glad that they’re gonna do what they did basically for Lacrimosa of Dana. Because yx 10 well had some interesting ask gameplay mechanics was seriously lacking in a lot of ways. It’s the first game in the series where I got close to finishing it and didn’t. I usually finish these games and one fell swoop. I love them so much.
The thing about GungHo is that they are mostly Digital. Many games they released had only physical Play-Asia or LRG... Not at full retail like Nisa does it. Wich means quantaties will be very limited and also... Extremly expensive. As a collector for trails i don't "care" how much but it's still a pain in the ass... And also i wait way longer for the copies to arrive and for me to play them unless i buy them digital and then physical. But i can't afford such craziness myself tho... I will stick to Physical only.
Great video Branden. Worth adding that NIS America don't localise most NIS games anymore. Bar Stella Abyss, which NIS Japan marked like a mainline title bombed in Japan, leading to NISA passing on that game, which was leaked out by an RPG Site journo. It's a similar story for titles like Xiatrice, Fuuraiki 4 as well as the many PC ports NISJ are publishing on Steam themselves. Phantom Brave 2 is the exception, and likely only cause its a sequel to a popular game from NIS's golden era. It's very ironic that NISA aren't able to localise all the games from Falcom, whoms games they reworked their entire localisation pipeline to prioritise, when they already neglect their parent company's own stuff. Hence, everybody loses out here. As an aside, NIS should allow third parties to localise their games rather than not letting anyone else have them if NISA can't do them. Marvelous, Atlus and even NIS themselves did this historically.
And mixed bag of news but I'm glad to see new Falcom news. I'm a little worried about gung ho. Since they are doing the lunar and did the grandia ports, they gave the physical runs to limited run games. Not a fan of ordering a physical game for only a month and then waiting 6 to 12 months to have it arrive in the mail
We don't care about the Japanese release, for everyone else it's only a few months ago it's still fresh. If they wanted to expand the game they could have do that before releasing the game for the rest of the world. Money speak loudly if they became gready like the big company's it will be stuck a shame. I already have the ys nordics since day one because I want to support them and they do this. If it will be dlc I buy but if is not and you have to buy the game again just for that new content sorry but I will not buy. I have more games to spend money
@@JustTheGems So did I, but Falcom doesn't really care about the west. It has gotten better in the last few years, but it's still Japan and east Asia first. And from that point Ys X will be nearly two years old when the new version releases. Maybe we are getting this version not until 2026, who knows.
I hate when they do a money grab buy adding more content and re releasing a game it’s live SMT 5 vengeance again I might wait a month before picking up new releases day one this is getting annoying 😩
The game getting an English Dub is AWESOME NEWS! That's what I was worried about the most but so glad that it is. Finally, my dream of hearing the characters in English in their origin games is coming true...well at least for the Sky characters. Let's hope they manage to bring back all if not most of the English VA's to reprise their roles, ESPECIALLY Johnny Yong Bosch as Joshua and Stephanie Sheh as Estelle. ^_^
So question. You convinced me a while ago to play Trails in the Sky FC, and I'm loving it, but its very long and I'm about 15-20 hours in. Question is: Do I put my gameplay on hold and just restart with this remake? Having English voice is a HUGE plus for me. I just wish my save could carry over, but that would never happen.
You know, honestly? It might be good to put it aside and wait for the remake. Especially since it's coming so relatively soon. Of course, then you'll have to decide whether to wait for SC and 3rd remakes, which are somewhat uncertain. But still. Worst case you could play the OG SC and 3rd.
@@JustTheGems I was thinking the same. Theres so many other JRPGs on my backlog anyways that it will give me plenty of time. I hope SC and 3rd will also be remade because it should be a shame to not complete the 3 chapters. thanks!
I am looking forward to Trails in the Sky 1st very much though I started the original a couple times and did not go too far with it...liked what I played but got distracted by other things and did not go back yet. I will most likely pre-order it. I might just wait for the expanded Ys 10 since I haven't bought it yet but I really dislike when they do this with games that are still new.
I'm sure I'll get over it since I love the game, but I just replayed Trails in the Sky FC (in an attempt to FINALLY get through the trilogy because it took me so long I needed to actually start again to remember things lmao) and this remake just feels kinda weird to me? I'm not sure how to explain it, and it isn't really a negative thing, it moreso just feels kinda..wrong? Maybe it's because I just finished replaying the original and it's just SO different. Again, this is probably something I'll just acclimate to when I play the game and since I love the characters and the world it'll just fade into the background. But my initial reaction was more mixed than I thought
That is bonkers banana pie pants! 🤣 (dad approved) Knowing their track record, they'll have a Proud Nordics upgrade for those who already bought the game. It is concerning, though, particularly because they were quite vague.
Loved getting the platinum on ys X, would love to play it again if proud had its own platinum, although I still wish they bring their games to Xbox so I could get achievements for their games
NGL while I'm annoyed by the Ys X Proud Nordics announcement but I'm still gonna buy it. I am finished Ys X Nordics now and I love it. Karja is so good it makes me a little sad to think I won't be seeing her again in any other Ys games.
I never use the english dub for my JRPG's. I prefer to hear them on their original language, but having options is always nice. What I don't like is that if they are doing the english dub this is going to delay a lot the release of the game. I would prefer the English dub to be release as a free DLC later a long the way and have a closer release window to japan only with subs. That's why this enhanced version of Nordics feels pretty closer to launch but is only closer to the Western release, the game has being available in Japan since September 2023 and that changes the whole context a lot. This is precisely my point the localization of Ys and Legend of Heroes games takes to much time I would be happy if this could be cut in half the time for example beetwen 3 to 6 months after the japanese release. Adding the english dub is not worth a full year delay, probably I'm not the only one that would like to get the game earlier without the dub on release. What's even worse with LRG managing the Collectors Edition's that means that edition would be arriving almost in late 2026.
I would guess the English dub probably only takes a few weeks to a month. They're also working on it for simultaneous release, so I bet they're trying to get both Japanese and other languages done at about the same time.
I'll just trade in my copy of Ys X for a discount of the updated version IF it's a substantial enough upgrade. But between this and Falcom thinking of using AI more in their games, the future of one of my favorite RPG companies looks less favorable.
I'm honestly not too worried about the AI thing - I get the sense they were just talking up their partnership with that AI tool, but it's probably not going to be a huge part of their output.
This Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter news feels like a monkey's paw to me...I mean I'm glad to get confirmation about the game having an English voice dub and that it's not a Switch exclusive, but it really sucks that it's not coming to the PS4, like I have all my Trails game on there...I wasn't planning on getting a PS5, I was going to wait for the PS6...But now I guess I get a PS5 then... Also, the thing that I love about Falcom is that they don't do story DLC, it's usually what you see is what you get with them, so I'm not a big fan of this news...I know that you don't like this outcome, but I really hope they don't start implementing paid story DLC into the based game. I already lost faith in Atlus for making The Answer paid DLC in persona 3 reload, and I just don't want Falcom going down that route...
I wasn't expecting Gungho and a Fall release. I should be done with MH Wilds by then. For Ys X, I'll wait for the Proud version now. Monster Hunter makes sense because it's a linear progression. But for a game like Ys, what linear progression is there?
Trails in the Sky looks amazing, but Im not sure how to feel about Ys X Proud. Ys X was just released, even in Japan it’s barely been over a year. Releasing a new version now doesn’t feel right, it should be a DLC expansion instead.
Well that means I won't buy it now. No point on buying a base game when they're releasing a game of the year type game this quickly. I was going to buy it for Christmas, but now I'll buy something else.
@@angellara7040 dlc are not the same, they are complements to the base game, here are re releasing a "new" game after 2 years, and less than 1 year outside Japan, I mean, is like Larian release a new baldur's gate 3 in 2025, for me is no sense. At least persona 5 royal was released 3 years after persona 5 :P, same with smt v Vengeance. But, I'm not defending that anyways
Here I come talking about voice acting again. I’m glad that trails will be voiced in English. I do hope however they don’t have asset. I’ve heard some of the trails games have voiced lines that literally just cut off mid conversation. I understand having side conversations text, only, though I don’t like it, But to just have some voice acting during scenes and then leave the rest silent is really terrible. These games are popular enough, and they probably have a decent enough budget that they can opt for the full experience. It always baffles me how so many indie, developers, or smaller scale studios have full voice acting in games, and these AAA companies never can manage it. I’m looking at you Atlas. Couldn’t even put full voice acting in there social link scenes for metaphor, even though you manage it in persona three reload. Otherwise, this news about trails is great. I’ve completely skipped this series, and I know for a fact, I’m punishing myself for that. There’s just far, far too many games. So if they’re kind of going back to the drawing board and starting fresh, maybe that’s when I’ll jump in. We will see. As for. YS, I've already held off, and if I get it at all, I'll be holding off. I learned my lesson with Atlus, and will likewise be waiting for the innevitable release of Metafor, Kingmakeer edition.
Im a little bummed theyre going for Daybreaks battle style, i really liked the tactical style combat of the original... but i know this will still be great
Hmm, pulling an Atlus is always the most horrible thing you can do as a game company. But people still praise Atlus and their games while buying the new versions. I imagine this will be much of the same because they got us by the Cahonies. Partly in the most minor defense of Falcom this is not worse than Atlus if you consider Ys 10 did not release worldwide and was at least a year if not more between its eastern and western release. Now what I hope this is more than just a DLC, and they also address the glaring issue of fighting the same guys over and over again to free the villagers. If they add more unique boss fights for the majority of those, that alone would make the game that much better.
Okay dude, so I'm happily married to an amazing woman. That being said, you coming at us with the messy hair and the nasal strip... I'm not THAT married. So I've only played FC and SC. The third is high on my priority list from my backlog. And more I'm so excited for the remake of FC. I loved the first two games. Estelle is the best. All this is going to do, if Proud Nordics is their "golden" or "royal" is make me not buy falcom games right away at release. Same as I do with Atlus games.
I really want to know why falcom keeps switching publishers i thought nis was doing a decent job but i really don't know much besides that thought they could even bring xseed script back lol
This isn't the first time Faclom does an enhanced version of their IP, Tokyo Xanadu was released on the Vita in 2015, ex+ is an enhanced version in which adds a new story.
My first recommendation? You aren't you when you're making youtube videos at 1:30 AM. Get some sleep. As for Ys 10, you're not the only youtuber I've watched today who doesn't get this. It's not that hard. Ys 10 came out in the US in October 2024, but it came out in Japan in 2023. It's already been out in Japan for well over a year. This new content is Japan only release next year, so for the Japanese, this new content will be two years after they got the initial game. NIS America is doing Daybreak II and working on Kai right now, and there is no way that Falcom wants a fourth game (or DLC) to come out in the US in 2025, as that would take dollars away from Oath in Felgana, Daybreak II and Sky 1st chapter. Kai and the Ys 10 Proud Nordic won't come west until 2026, and then, it will have been two years for us too. Falcom''s DLC and monetization practices have never been predatory, and I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I didn't have a problem with the Persona 3 Reload expansion coming out less than six months after the base game did, I had just had enough of Persona 3 Reload by then so I didn't buy it. Two years is not the same time gap as a few months. The timing of the release announcement was bad, but was targeted at Japan, not the US. It just happened that something that won't come out until 2026 got lumped together with a 2025 release which muddles our brains on the matter. Muddled brains are an especial problem at 1:30 AM. for the love of Aidios, don't make youtube videos when you're half asleep, it's bad for your health. Your channel is great, and I want to keep you at this for many years to come!
You don't think two years is a bit early for a full rerelease? Even if they wait another year for us (going against Falcom's desire for simultaneous worldwide releases, which they've been clear about wanting), that's still such a short time. I think it's bad practice. Don't need eight good hours of sleep to think that.
@@JustTheGems The announcement said it was Japanese only, and while Falcom might want simultaneously worldwide releases, they're going to dip their toes in the water with Sky the first and see if it's feasible for them. I firmly think Ys 10 Proud Nordics is a 2026 release. As a small company, Falcom only has so many fans in the west, and those fans only have so much money, time and attention. They already have 3 games coming west next year, any more than that is risking oversaturation, and Falcom's company DNA is to be cautious. I don't see a 2025 release for Proud Nordics in the cards. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that makes business sense. As for whether 2 years is an appropriate amount of time to pass, that's a matter of opinion that varies for everyone. What I will say is that if Ys 10 Proud Nordics is a $60 full game that adds onto Ys 10 Nordics, that's one thing, if it's a $25 DLC that augments the base game, that's something completely different. I would have a problem with the former, and no issue with the later. The business model under which the product is sold matters, I completely agree with you there. If this is a Persona 4 Golden or a Persona 5 Royal, that's problematic, but if it's Persona 3 Reload Episode Aegis, which was a DLC (season pass) that cost $34.99 as an add-on separate from the base game, that's different. I still think only waiting 6 months before releasing the DLC was a bit scummy, but it's an improvement from Atlus in that they at least didn't make people rebuy the base game too. I do understand where you're coming from, and I also get why there is resistance to the business model of gaming seeming to move towards the live service model, which no one wants to see. I will say that 2 years is about the minimum amount of time I would be willing to let pass for a DLC or an expansion, and I don't want things any more frequent than that. To this point, scummy sales tactics has not been something Falcom has done in it's history, and I hope things stay that way. I'm going to say that Ys 10 Proud Nordics is probably going to be an add-on DLC, but we don't know as there isn't any information yet. I will make up my mind on it when that information becomes available. One last thing, don't underestimate how massive an investment Sky 1st chapter is going to be. Simultaneous release on Switch, PC and Playstation 5, simultaneous release in English and Japanese, with simultaneous English, Japanese, German and French text. Falcom has never done anything close to this ambitious in its history. This release is going to be the most expensive game release in the history of Falcom. The logistics alone will be pricey. The reason Falcom has never tried something like this is that they've never been able to afford to before. It's unlikely Falcom can foot the bill for this on its own, and it will probably have to borrow money for it. If it works, it will propel the company forward to worldwide releases on multiple platforms being standard, if it goes sideways, it will hurt the company, a lot. This is a massive financial risk, and Falcom has no experience making this kind of thing happen; there will be problems. I can't see Falcom greenlighting any other ambitious releases like this until they see how this one goes first. Apologize for writing so much. It's late, I should get to bed too.
I have two issues with GungHo (OF COURSE I DO), buit they are fairly technical. Ok, hear me out, as a PC player,. there are three types of ports, two of them are bad: The port that has no configurations at all (AKA FF7 Remake, where the options are so minimal you have to do a lot of fine tuning on your GPU to make sutff work better). The port that has configurations OUTSIDE the game (AKA Borderlands, where you have to open a window outside the game with the game closed, change the settings, run the game, check if the game is running good enough, close the game, open said window again and repead that for hours until you're satisfied). And the Port that has Configurations INSIDE the game (AKA, Trails into Reverie, Trails to Azure and Zero, Trails through Daybreak, YS Eight, Nine and Ten, all Resident Evil games and so on), which all allows you to mostly change settings WHILE you play the game, and see the changes in real time, OR, worst case scenario, asks you to go back to the title screen to change the heavier ones. XSEED as a company ALWAYS made the Second type of Ports. Clouded Leopard does the exact same thing. NIS did the two first Cold Steel Ports (3 and 4) with the second method while they started the YS series already doing the third kind. As far as I know, Durante told us that the reason CS3 and 4 is so hard to mod AND cannot have settigns into the game is because of the engine Falcom used for those games which makes them very hard to deal with. But all ports besdies those two Cold Steel games are pretty much the third type of port, which I consider the bare minimum a port on PC needs to have. And here's the thing: We have at least THREE companies that ports trails nowadays, XSEED which was retired, Clouded Leopard which ports for China I think, and NIS. Now somehow they avoided the legal issues with sky and made GungHo the company, even if I'm pretty sure NIS would LOVE to port the Sky games too considering they just discovered that Trails is a gold mine for them. I'm not worried about text. Dub is.. frankly relative. For me Dub is generally bad since Cold Steel I, very lack luster, noly one or two voices is good for me, all of them feel forced especially the girls, sometimes it feels the people who are saying the lines are literally reading a script without emotion (Claire CS2 in some places), overall the emotion is not at the same level either, especially when you compare them with Tales of dubs or Persona dubs, especially Persona 3. So frankly Dual Dub is always the best, if you don't like one, you have the other. Hell an option to DISABLE dub would be awesome too. Text w e know they are reusing the scripts of the original. Worst case scenario they will have new lines and new content, but most of the stablished wording and wordlbuilding will be intact. No, my issue here is the port itself. The Switch and PS5 ports will see no problem, those platforms use one setting only. But the PC version will have multiple settings for multiple settups, and I HOPE GungHo (Especially if they are associated to how XSEED and Clouded Leopard port stuff) do the ports of Sky on Pc just as good if not BETTER than what NIS is doing with Daybreak. Believe me when I say this: I CANNOT play CS3 and 4 on PC, the ports are too unstable for me and the setting configurations is annoying and the button prompts they chose to add on the PC are just hideous. I always play the PS4 versions which I have physical. But what I cannot accept is going back to the lackluster porting they had on XSEED days because every single YS and Trails games XSEED ported was the second type of port and I hate it. It's awful and lazy. Knowing that CL does the same thing, and also knowing that the CEO of XSEED is now on GungHo I worry that they will do things their way on Pc. Let'as be real: No YS game under XSEED got any sort of updates to insert the configs inside the game, no games of them on PC even get updates after a year, I still saw updates for YS 8 three years after its release. I know people love XSEED but franly it's too much bootlicking for them when their job was only good on translating. Cheers to the translators they deserved not only a raise, for brigning this series to us, they deserve fucking royalties of 1% for each copy sold using their scrip because they almost offed themselves just to bring this masterpiece to us. But the company? The company suckedballs mate. So yeah and let's not talk about the fact that Trails games have a different publisher for almost every fucking arc at this point. It's annoying.
New action orientated Trails of the Sky FC?!?!?!? I play this game almost daily on my PSP. Wait they changed the title from FC to 1st Chapter? I'd rather have just Turn based I'm not a fan of the action combat.
This isnt it man get some sleep. Your eyes look hella scary. Just do the video the next day. Rewatch the video and look at your eyes they scream pain and rest. Not blue light. I dont really care that proud is a rerelease i mean i already played it and its not like atlus makes content worth replaying a game again. To many other games to play. I dont feel like im playing an incomplete version. Im not bother by it. Power to the people that will get to play it but im satisfy with what i got out of ys x
Dude... should have waited until the morning... not the end of the world, others have already beaten you to the punch, saw the trailer was quite happy with it.
Hopefully they fix the lackluster combat in the early game, which was my biggest issue
Yep, I got the collectors edition for YS X, it's annoying but if they do another one for YS X proud, I know I'll end up buying it.
If it's in dlc format and cheap I will buy but if it's not and they want people to buy the game a second time it's a big NO to me I already spent 60 euros on that I have more games I want. It's stupid if they will do this to the games from now on
@@adrianoedmu Same, I already bought the game on PC too
However, I'm still confused why they would
schedule for 2025 when the Switch successor is coming.
Oh for sure, new collector's edition gets announced, they're definitely going full Atlus 😅
Don't love that LRG is doing the collectors edition. Not only will it be extremely delayed it will likely be $200+
Yeah, I usually get the collectors edition, off the cards for me now. I hope Japan is getting one and I can import it. Also happy Europe is getting a physical release.
Still hyped at 5:30am!!
Yeah, lack of time is the real killer here. I'd be happy to play Ys X again, but I have too many other things to do and games to get to!
Falcom is just doing what Atlus has been doing for 25+ years now,
Doesn't make it valid or good though. Especially this soon
@@louvella-sama No, i am not saying it is valid at all, on the contrary i would love to see people shaming Atlus for this type of business practice as much as they are shaming Falcom for it.
Greetings from a guy who brought and played the original versions of both P5 and SMT5 on release.
@@thohilleslandsorry to hear that
I agree, the Ys X Proud Nordis should just DLC after such a short time. Trails in the Sky the 1st Chapter looks awesome, I'm glad it's on PS5 and Steam also.
@@orochi_warrior if they wanted they could wait to do that new content and then when they announced the ys 10 they could released with that new content already , this is just company greed
Is not really that close Ys Nordics was released on 2023 in Japan, the problem is that all this games takes a lot of time to be localized.
Nah theu should charge a full 70 for their work
@@CrimsonBladezz we didn't say they don't deserve the money for the work they did, we are talking about the practice they are doing with this. I don't know if the extra content will be available in dlc format but if it's not it will be like joking with the people who already got the game
Still in the middle of playing Ys X. Now I'm not sure if I should continue to finish it or maybe sell the game and wait for the new version.
@SuperSupersoda yes, I can wait even more, Ys game are rare and expensive here so, in my case it's better to wait and buy it just once :P
Ys X released in japan in September of 2023, so for Japan it's not a quick turn around for this. It just took over a year for it to come stateside
Looking good my friend!! Completed the sky trilogy very recent however will still purchase this 😂 can I just say sky the third final boss was so hard
Thanks! I'm nothing if not dedicated to Falcom! 😅
Ys x came out last year
I'm speaking as an American
The thing about GungHo is that they are mostly Digital. Many games they released had only physical Play-Asia or LRG... Not at full retail like Nisa does it. Wich means quantaties will be very limited and also... Extremly expensive. As a collector for trails i don't "care" how much but it's still a pain in the ass... And also i wait way longer for the copies to arrive and for me to play them unless i buy them digital and then physical. But i can't afford such craziness myself tho... I will stick to Physical only.
Thankfully only LRG is going the collectors edition, there is still physical release outside Japan.
Dammit, I just got my Ys X Nordics CE a few months ago
I know....😭
Who will make the trails in the sky remake physical editions GungHo or Nis America
GungHo are doing it for America, the Collectors Edition is only LRG
Ys X came out in September 2023. It's not less than a year old
Sure, but I'm American, so I only just got it
We don't care about the Japanese release, for everyone else it's only a few months ago it's still fresh.
🤣 (dad approved)
Knowing their track record, they'll have a Proud Nordics upgrade for those who already bought the game. It is concerning, though, particularly because they were quite vague.
Loved getting the platinum on ys X, would love to play it again if proud had its own platinum, although I still wish they bring their games to Xbox so I could get achievements for their games
I hope the proud content can be dlc, or can pay say 10$ or something to upgrade your version like dynasty warriors started to do.
If it could be dlc theu would have just announced it as dlc it’s not
Hopefully it’s like torna - I wouldn’t mind that 😊❤
Can't wait for Sky 1st Chapter Remake! ❤😊
NGL while I'm annoyed by the Ys X Proud Nordics announcement but I'm still gonna buy it. I am finished Ys X Nordics now and I love it. Karja is so good it makes me a little sad to think I won't be seeing her again in any other Ys games.
I started playing tocs 2 when the zero came out , I stated playing azure when this thing was announce ........
I’m guessing worldwide release was Falcom’s priority and Nisa or Xseed couldn’t fit it in their schedule
I think that's absolutely correct
@@JustTheGems I think I recall Falcom saying they were only using AI to speed up localization, so that's not too bad.
Hahah the energy
Plus falcom told you to buy the game again. 😂
Finally sky remake in 3D
Princess & maid joshua 🤭
Trails in the Sky looks amazing, but Im not sure how to feel about Ys X Proud. Ys X was just released, even in Japan it’s barely been over a year. Releasing a new version now doesn’t feel right, it should be a DLC expansion instead.
I'm glad I have not played Ys10 then yet. Guess I now always wait for a year after a game comes out. Can't wait for Metaphor: ReRe Fantazio.
That’s the thing though, Ys X is NOT new. The localization is new. Ys x came out in Japan September of 2023
Well that means I won't buy it now. No point on buying a base game when they're releasing a game of the year type game this quickly.
I was going to buy it for Christmas, but now I'll buy something else.
2023 is still pretty new
@@CharlesJXover 16 months is plenty. It's basically what capcom does dlc wise
True. I'm just thinking as an American.
Im a little bummed theyre going for Daybreaks battle style, i really liked the tactical style combat of the original... but i know this will still be great
action is optional??? you have a one click button for turn based
No way Trails in the Sky is gonna be on the 1st Switch. Looks much more than what Nintendo's current console can do.
Seems like they cant make a new YS games instead just using YS nordics again i love YS nordics 😢
I think it just has to do with what sort of workload each company can handle that also fits with Falcom's release schedule.
They trying to copy Atlus by releasing an enhanced version 😂
Ok, hear me out, as a PC player,. there are three types of ports, two of them are bad:
The port that has no configurations at all (AKA FF7 Remake, where the options are so minimal you have to do a lot of fine tuning on your GPU to make sutff work better).
Believe me when I say this:
I CANNOT play CS3 and 4 on PC, the ports are too unstable for me and the setting configurations is annoying and the button prompts they chose to add on the PC are just hideous.
Pro Dub!? Bout damn time. Sub
Lol, I mean, I'm wearing glasses so my eyes do look different, yeah.
Dude... should have waited until the morning... not the end of the world, others have already beaten you to the punch, saw the trailer was quite happy with it.
