My family had this car. Such a good car. Very reliable and never broke down once. Made trips from Delhi to Greater Noida everyday for 4 years in this car.
I had one for 7 years. It was super reliable. No problems whatsoever. Didn't even recharge the AC gas as far as I am aware of. The switchgear was of superb quality too.
@Gen Z Auto the car/passenger vehicle division of Daewoo was bought out by general motors and thus we got the second and third gen matiz which were the spark and beat just rebadged as a Chevrolet.......and now they operate in Korea as GM Korea instead of Daewoo.......
My grandfather had this car (top speed is 144-145, personal experience) and then my dad brought the chev spark which was the upgraded version of matiz. Nostalgia!
Good old days! ❤ still remember my grandpa had it back in 2000. One day there was a power cut in the night and I was so small then he make me sleep in the car whole night with ac on. I still remember when I turned 7 that car was so silent outside!❤️
This video is so nostalgic for me I cannot even begin to tell you. It was the first car in our house which my grand dad bought 25-30 years ago. It was there with us till I was about 5-6 years old but still have many vivid memories attached to it. I almost forgot about this car completely but then saw your videos, cannot express how many memories are rushing there with me now. Thanks Faisal
Faisal is a purist . That's why I prefer watching your channel over others.Being very honest. Some people even have mobile phone channels and also vehicle review channel which raises questions where they have expertise on. Brilliant Faisal keep it up. This is Indias first FI car before Santro
I remember in 1998 in my 7th standard and i cried to my father that i want the matiz. My dad wasn't a fan as the company was daewoo, so he bought the Zen VXI MPFi version which was really good and fast. No regrets there because i learnt to drive in the Zen. But this car was so cool back then and i liked the yellow color.
@@eriktenhag2022 no, it required service on a frequent basis. So we decided to let go. Parts were available without much fuss as our town had a very old garage which could procure Daewoo parts easily
I still own this car I have SE model 1999. Still working in good condition. Door pockets, power windows are there in other variants ( this model shown doesn't have ) music system Ac all are there
This vehicle was the Reason i have a Spark ( matiz 2nd Gen). The reason to buy this was it's Good Fit and Finish, mine still doesn't rattle from anywhere unlike stupid marutis. Better Built Quality like sheet metal and the Refined 4cyl engine. Good Space too...
This reminds me of my Dad's Matiz. I learn to drive in this car. Have a lot of memories travelling with family in this car. I still remember how difficult it was to start this car in cold temperature😅.
One of my dream car in 2000s. This is such a beauty with its iconic headlight and style in those times!❤️ Really the brand and this car is badly missed! Thank you for reminiscing our childhood days Faisal❤️
my family also had one till 2018 . We had one of the top models which was special as it had a power steering as i remember ,and power windows on the front and that car was heavy and powerful considering the size.
My family bought this car in 2001 in Shillong. Made around 50 odd trips to Guwahati and back. We made sure we got it to Delhi as well. I learnt how to drive in this car and also got my license. It was finally sent to the cutters after the 15 year rule in 2017. Thank you for the video.
feeling nostalgic..my father gave this car to me after he upgraded to scorpio in 2003. this was my drive to my engineering college everyday..!!!superb car with amazing performance
There was a guy in my society in Delhi who bought it in late 90s, as a kid i was amazed by its beauty. That was also the first time i saw someone wearing seatbelt, it very funny for us back then. :D
Thx to u doing a review of this car my childhood memories going in the Matiz hav been reminded and your review shows and gives the authentic Matiz feel 😇and I really like the way u did the review off the car
This was one the best cars at that time. I used this for almost 4yrs. Chevy Spark is the modified Matiz. Very nice car, Bro.... We all kno ur English is quite good. But try to spak a little slower... I mean tempo. This fast talking indicate hurry. Ur videos are good, make them better by a bit slow talking. Bro plz dont mind... This is my personal thinking 🙏
This is one of the best cars I have driven till date. We had a Matiz back in the day and it was way ahead of its time . The lights were clear lens(even specific Mercs and other high end cars during that era did not feature the same, let alone the mass market ones). Age has taken its toll on the lens of this particular example. The top speed of the car was around 150kmph(speedo indicated) and if you would have not kept your eyes in the speedo it would feel something around 90Kmph. Yes, it was that stable. We were so mighty impressed with the car, we went ahead and bought the chevy spark followed by the Beat in its Diesel Avatar. The beat is still serving us about to turn 10 with no fuss or drama. Just a small piece of advice, you may drive high end cars but do your Home work thoroughly before presenting a vlog. A lot of people end up spending their hard earned money on the basis of the words that you speak and in many cases I beg to differ when I drive those cars myself
It's my family's first car my grandparents gave the car as a marriage gift to my parents 2000 still working there is lot of memories on my car Now my car age is 24 I Love my car and I enjoying driving Still I finding wonderful name for my car 😂😂😂
A most wonderful little car. Very stable on the highway at three digit speeds. Great design. Front seats extremely comfy and set at the ideal height. Engine quite sporty with a nice feel and sound. I can go on and on. Loved it to bits.
We had this car in 2003 till the time we sold it off as Daewoo was going bankrupt. It didn't need power steering, it was that light, the ride was impeccable. Plenty of headroom and enough leg room. Seats were great. Good headlights (if you upgraded the bulbs) - they look like a Porsche headlights actually, very cute looks (The USP was the looks). All controls were light, but the gearbox was quite notchy, not comparable to the super smooth shifters we have these days - but it was nowhere near as bad as the one you drove, which must be a super old worn out one. Performance isn't much to write about, the car had enough to cruise at decent speeds, but nothing on say a Honda City of those times. I still remember reading the WagonR vs Santro vs Matiz comparison test by Autocar. The AC was SUPERB for our conditions, no small car till date does it so well. Super reliable, never gave a single problem in 7 years of owning it. None! The build quality of the switchgear was amazing even compared to cars now. This car was what the Tata Nano could never be.
When this car first came to our town me and my friends would take the long way home from school by foot just to check this car out. It was such a beauty and the best part was it didn’t look like anything like the rest. Don’t know why I feel like this gave birth to the spark. 10/10 content 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wow Faisal ji, now your episodes are getting interesting.... padmini, cielo, corsa, matiz.... maza aa raha hai. You know there was a time these cars were aspirations dor lot of people. Wish you cover some more cars like: Opel Astra, Ford escort, maruti 1000, tata estate, old safari etc
Once in a time my father used to have Bajaj Chetak & his dream car was Matiz.. He daily used to tell me we are going to purchase it one day... Your video just brought my childhood memories back again😅
Hi. This car at its time could clog abt 155 kmph. It would run rings around the competition then. Remember the santro was launched with a 999 cc engine and could not complete with the matiz. Quality handling efficiency were excellent.
I had a chevy spark for 15 yrs 2007 model but i had to scrap it due to shitty 15 year rule, it was an insanely reliable and comfortable car and just like Ebenezer I didn't remove the plastic on the sun visors till the time I had the car 😂😂😂 amazing car love it.......
I have actually seen it when i was young i used to see this parked on the side of the road and i nevwr saw it again after continuously saw it for 6 years
After seeing the matiz, i can see how GM improved its second generation spark... Everything was improved from build quality to interiors... Everything... We still own a chevy spark🫂

The rear seat can be completely folded for a flat floor. But to do that first we need to unlock the under thigh bench and fold it forward. It was absolutely an awesome car!
I had cried when my dad chose to buy the maruti 800 over this super cute car even though the dealer was offering huge discount on a display car. I miss those old days when there were very few options to choose but still cars like Matiz attracted lot of people even though most of them did not go for it as it was new in India.
Thanks to instagram.com/ebby_777 for lending me this super hard to find Matiz!

What's the mileage ur getting
