Very impressive stuff - especially the ball handling and footwork -, but as a high school coach I disagree with having him shoot 3s. He's got a low release, catapult type shot and that's due to shooting from too far away at too young an age. Now if he corrects that in a couple of years like Steph Curry did when he was growing up that will be fine, but habits like that can be VERY hard to break. I hope he develops into a good adult player who loves this beautiful game and doesn't burn out like so many young phenoms.
+Trent Diamanti Hi,since you mention you're a high school coach, can i ask you will i be able to jump higher as i get older or just withing some exercises.Because i'm 15 y.o. about 6.3 and i can grab the rim.
+levat tavel Everyone's development and adolescence is different, but typically by 15 you've reached 80% to 90% of the max you'll get from natural ability. You might get a couple more inches but not much more. You're at an age when it should be fine to start doing plyometrics and some strength training if you want to improve more.
+Trent Diamanti my best guess is that he's playing against older, taller players so they feel he needs a consistent 3 point shot or they'll just sag off him when defending. good point however.
+Daniel J Yeah I'm sure he gets mad buckets with it, it just could be an issue if it isn't corrected before he's a high school upperclassman. Appreciate your comment.
Nick Navata No kidding. Where can I get a gym all to myself with all that equipment. My gym has one court and 30 people waiting to play. Win or go home.
Kayc Man we all know the reason why he moves that much, it's to put defenders on their heels so he can drive past them. But you don't need to jerk your body around to get past defenders, look at any point guard other than Westbrook and Rose, they don't use that kind of motion, because unless you're a freak athlete, which I'm not sure this kid is, you're gonna get hurt and shorten your basketball career. If you keep your rhythm with the ball smooth it's just as effective if you're as fast as this kid is
Continue the hard work my man. It will pay off. You look pretty smooth to me & determined to be the best you can be. Many young kids don’t have the drive you have. 👍

now I know why he cant see his teamate, haha.. the way he does his 1million dribble moves and the seizure head crossover makes him dizzy thats why he cant see clearly .. he only see the basket haha
You are thinking too much during a game , also when your training make sure you do everything game speed and make sure your tired I usually do shooting drills last when am out of energy that simulates the game because during a game when you shoot you are more then likely tired
I know right.. I can do some of the fancy moves like below the feet, behind the back, spin, but during the game my mind is blank and I can't do all those things.. Even shooting..
Here this is an opinion on what I do before games. 1- I get a game ball Wilson, Spalding, THE ROCK, etc. 2- I usually shoot in game shots of what I'm most likely to shoot and what the defender gives me 3- Same form, same release, same target. I hope these tips work
I HONESTLY wish the best for this kid. He definitely has the dedication and discipline to succeed in life no matter what he does. I hope he does make it to the NBA or beter yet be able to play basketball professional overseas if the NBA doesn't pan out. He btter hope he makes it 5'10 or 5'11 and has at least a 40 inch in 5 year though. But I will say this I don't understand what in the hell most of these drills have to do with in-game setting? That's the problem with most trainers today and why the NBA in terms of this generation has all the athletes but is lacking in truly skilled players. I'm trying to become a trainer but pretty much everything I teach will be based on in-game drills and the science of the game not shooting from 40 feet away and doing hop step dribble pull-ups from 30 feet away. What is he going to do when he comes up against a kid his age whose a PG but it 6'1 170 pounds from Chicago with a 35 inch vert? lol Nothing in this video will help him against traps or double teams or help him make decision once he get's past his man and heads to the lane when the defense collapses on him.
I think what happens is that kids are trained in order to have the skills, whether they will be able to use those skills during the game or not is up to their talent or instinct and it's exactly what makes good players from great players.
Couldn't agree more. Any goofball with wacky dribbling drills can call themselves a trainer, and while all that silly shit might look cool it has literally NOTHING to do with a basketball game. This kid spent this whole video basically dancing in place while dribbling, and he looked like a spastic kid while doing it. Physical maturity should make him more fluid, but these "drills" will always suck.
Quincy McBride Every drill the kid's father had him run, was crucial to his in-game play. Holding the medicine ball in one hand while dribbling, mimics the pressure of the defensive player. Keeping the guard hand strong is very important to ball security. Placing cones at random spots, and making him dribble around them, at full speed, will help Julian's reaction time. Where ever a defensive player steps, he will instinctively get by it. And with shooting from a far...it's important for confidence. If I can make a 40 footer with ease, I will feel a lot more confident when practicing anything less. The proof is in the pudding; the kid's father created a beast. And I know people will assume I know nothing about what I'm talking about, but this summer coming, I will be taking my soon to be 12 year old nephew to every park and rec possible, so I can record him and his friends beating every team that accepts or offer the challenge. Julian's left hand is way quicker than my nephew's, but my nephew is faster and appears to be stronger. I will definitely use these drills.
Damn these Mexicans are getting better at everything that they do. Not to mention they are one of the hardest workers and most respectful people. Hats off to lil nigga!

Brooooo, if you do this workout regimen to kids they won't develop hormones and won't grow, his over burning calories, he's a kid, this is a man's workout regimen, and he's gonna be short no matter what, so don't push him so much, he could collapse from over working his body at such a young age
Yairon Torres he's the one who pushes himself so it's his fault if it happens plus it would only effect his hormones at a much younger age like 7-5 not this age well not as much
Ham Dayum Can you do moving push ups? Btw those aren't triceps neither biceps push ups, those are flexors push ups. Those muscles are one of the most important muscles in basketbal.
I would recruit this kid for his work ethic alone. You know this is the type of kid that isn't going to be out partying all night, cutting classes and not giving you 100% effort in practices. He would be like a Peyton Manning, watching game film when he isn't on the court physically trying to better himself.

IK. He could’ve developed other aspects of the game, like… court vision so he can average a lot or assists or… maybe he could’ve tried stealing the ball like Muggsy. But the problem is his arrogant mentality, trying to ISO every damn play, because he thinks he is the only one that can score. If he wanted to make it to the league, he needed to focus on being a role player more than a superstar. Shame on him.

@bl1234 I mean Julian is at least making money from this. It's not like his hard work didn't pay off couldn't do much more since he is that short
This dude is putting in the work to be wear his opponents out whether he makes the NBA or not he is successful right now and still giving it all he's got
That makes him a winner

He needs to cause he's not going to the NBA
@The GeoBaller - why do you keep saying that? yeah i know we have seen others like him who are beast in hs and college but you don't think he even has a chance? He is short but that could change over time and if not then just look at isiah thomas for the boston celtics.
+NewDay ya I live in boston and I see him play every year. The problem is, this kid does too much where as small point guards like Thomas and even guys like Iverson only do what they need to do. Before you say that Iverson was excessive with dribble moves, he used them because that's how he got to the basket and scored. This kid only stands at the 3 point line doing a bunch of unnecessary moves
The GeoBaller 😱OMG I though I was the only one who seen that. Yeah indeed he's does to much you can't deny that

Silver Black wish there were more ppl like that and with ur attitude the world would be a better place I bet half the ppl don't care if this kid dies
+Trent Diamanti he shoots like shawn marion LOL
+Trent Diamanti my best guess is that he's playing against older, taller players so they feel he needs a consistent 3 point shot or they'll just sag off him when defending. good point however.
+Daniel J Yeah I'm sure he gets mad buckets with it, it just could be an issue if it isn't corrected before he's a high school upperclassman. Appreciate your comment.

He over exaggerates to much, all that jerky action is how you get hurt, just ask D-Rose. Keep it fast but smooth it out
I agree 100 percent
Why do all these people who no nothing bout basketball do this stuff.
There is a reason he moves that much
Kayc Man we all know the reason why he moves that much, it's to put defenders on their heels so he can drive past them. But you don't need to jerk your body around to get past defenders, look at any point guard other than Westbrook and Rose, they don't use that kind of motion, because unless you're a freak athlete, which I'm not sure this kid is, you're gonna get hurt and shorten your basketball career. If you keep your rhythm with the ball smooth it's just as effective if you're as fast as this kid is
um...ok i don't get your reason to try to prove someone wrong but whatever
And i know why he moves that much

10 years later: still a 12 year old phenom😂😂
Wish I could practice like this😂😂
I have had a problem recently, I can consistently make shots during basketball practice but in a real game I can't make open shots. Any tips?
You are thinking too much during a game , also when your training make sure you do everything game speed and make sure your tired I usually do shooting drills last when am out of energy that simulates the game because during a game when you shoot you are more then likely tired
The problem is between your ears. Tip: Make 250 jumpers a day! Didn say take but make.
2- I usually shoot in game shots of what I'm most likely to shoot and what the defender gives me
3- Same form, same release, same target.
I hope these tips work
Defenders probably guarding u make u change your shot just stick to your shot and when in practice have someone put there hands in front of your face
Hard work. Dedicated. Love for the game. If you want it, then claim it young man. It’s yours.
this is what a talented and hardworking and irresistable basketball young player of the world
I HONESTLY wish the best for this kid.
Exactly my point. They're too worried about being flashy than finishing or succeeding.
Lil man nice.... keep up the hard work it pays off in the end god bless you my brother
This is old, he's like 17 now. Not much growth has come from him. Physically and on the court
